*stares at the trailer*

Did I just see Thrawn beat the crap out of a bunch of droids?

That looked like personal training more than anything else (apparently I'm a fucking prophet now).

Though honestly my main source of hype for the rest of the season is for the fight between Ben Kenobi and Maul, a duel I never realized I wanted until I saw it.

Training or not. Thats Thrawn beating up a bunch of droids. As in seriously beating them to a pulp. Thats awesome.

Also, agreed on the Obi-Wan vs. Maul duel. Thats something EVERYONE has been waiting for for a long time.

....I like the fact that everyone forgets that Obi Wan, did in fact, slice him into two at the end of....that-movie-prequel-that-shall-not-be-named.

I think people just want Darth Maul to stay dead, instead of the 'I come back to life via the Dark Side feeding off my anger and pain of being sliced into two pieces' cop out.

Right then, since I kind of want to keep things moving I'm going to apply that extra +10 to the training roll. In the hilariously unlikely chance this kind of thing happens again, I will do the same in the future.

Anyway, going off to roll, be back soon~

Yup.

Plus, we all know how it ends. Either Maul winds up in quarters, buried out in the Dune Sea, or he gets wounded and flees. Obi-Wan ain't dying any time soon.

No, I meant how the fuck can you create an account, only to abandon it the next freaking day(and make only one post)?! Shouldn't there be something in Da Rulz that forbids that kind of thing???

Well most punishments revolve around the account. I imagine it would be difficult to punish someone for that unless it's a sock puppet.

Sorry about that, I'd completely forgotten that I had that bonus and I only log onto SV when I have something to post. (I normally read things through OP alerts in my inbox). I was originally thinking of adding it to a shenanigans roll in Kamino but that never appeared, but lowest roll works.

Edit: I generally don't vote in quests because I rarely have the time to follow the discussions. (And reading backlogs are half the fun when I do)

Ah, terribly sorry for jumping the gun then though I appreciate that you're still with us nonetheless. Though you should at least join in the banter every once in a while.

Perhaps... I question why Maul would bother fighting Kenobi? I mean honestly, at that moment in time what more can he do? The man's lost, the Jedi Order and everyone he's knew, is dead. His former apprentice has become a monster and the galaxy is under the rule of a tyrant. All that's left is an Old Man huddled around a campfire in the middle of nowhere, on the planet that is the armpit of the galaxy.

@Teron mind telling Snark how to handle stupid rolls like this?

And Snark, might I also suggest hitting up The Practice War and its author Snowfire for further commiseration.

Pirates flee in terror. Loot is had by all.
Eclipsing the Black Sun (Go Loud): 94+14=108
...
Eclipsing the Black Sun (Silent Option): 85+15+10=110
Yeah, the Black Sun doesn't really exist anymore.
It's Party Time: 47+5=52
We continue to seduce Anakin to the blue-and-orange side of the Force.
Deals With Sienar: 8, Rerolled to 87+16+10=113
Our initial comm was handled by a sneering bureaucrat who hung up on us. When they realized who they'd insulted, Sienar fired the guy and sent one of their top executives to personally give us a tour and open the negotiations.
The Hunt For Rotta: 87+55=142
T+ 14 hours after Jabba's request: Rotta returned safely to Tatooine. No one understands how we got him back so quickly. Abyss Watchers become legendary in Hutt Space.
Operation RESI II: 15+36+10=61
We're getting pretty good at dealing with the whole 'nascent zombie apocalypse' thing, and now we know who to blame.
Research Luka Sene: 48+10=58
We're nerds. With Force powers. Who use it to solve engineering problems.
Jango Favor: 17+15=32
Perfectly normal checkup was... perfectly normal. Huh.
Survival Training: 90+10=100
Due to a technical glitch, Ciaran is dropped in the Flamewood region of Voss before she's fully packed for survival training. She carries 1 canister of water purification pills, her lightfoil, and whatever random crap was in her pockets from the day's business -- notably not including a tracking device. (The technician is summarily fired). 24 hours later, when Gulan and Thrawn finally triangulate her location and send a landing craft to pick her up, they find a dirt-covered Ciaran riding atop a Mawvorr that she'd managed to tame the day before.
The greatest strategic mind in the galaxy trains with the greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy. No biggie.
Asajj gives up her Sith ways, and decides to join us in madly trolling the galaxy, her former masters included.

If it was simple revenge, I'd think he'd be more angry at Sidious:
1) Kidnapped him from his mother.
2) Left him for dead.
3) Killed his brother.
4) Dismantled his criminal empire.
5) Killed his mother.

1) It appears that Thrawn's lessons to them paid off.
2) Grievous wanted to top Silencer's bullshit.
3) There was a very respectable party.
4) Suddenly TIE fighters and Venators.
5) Ciaran did more than find his son, we found the person who hired the people to kidnap his son and delivered him and his associates in carbonite to Jabba to hang on the wall.
6) Silencer battled nightmares unimaginable... so an average Tuesday.
7) Ciaran sees the real Cheriss through the Force.
8) Bobba gets a checkup.
9) Grievous' plan was a holiday to Kalee.
10) The levels of pure awesome are over nine thousand.
11) Ventress falls into a Force Trance and meets Darth Plagueis.
12) I think we are The Black Sun now.

So what I'm seeing is that if we devoted Personal Attention to the Silent Route, we would've scored over 150. I'm pretty sure the Black Sun would've straight up sworn fealty at that point.

Yup, that's definitely Teron Dice. Here's the statistical summary of the results:
  • Our highest roll was 94 for 'Eclipsing the Black Sun (Loud Option)' - only roll > 90%
  • Our lowest roll was an 8 for 'Sienar' (rerolled and converted into a super-crit)
  • Our median roll was an 81 for 'Walking the Beat'
  • Our dice average this turn was 59.8 (sum of all rolls was 778, divide by 13)
Here's the specs from the last few turns.
Here's the previous turn in this thread, rolled by Dr. Snark
  • Turn 20: dice average was 35.7 (highest roll was 63, lowest roll was 11. 0 of 9 rolls > 90%)
Here's the final turns of the previous thread, when Teron dice were rolled by Teron.
  • Turn 19: dice average was 47.3 (highest roll was 89, lowest roll was 5. 0 of 9 rolls > 90%. There was a 'natural 100', but on the 'Disaster' roll.)
  • Turn 18: dice average was 66.1 (highest roll was 93, lowest roll was 7. 2 of 9 rolls > 90%)
  • Turn 17: dice average was 69.3 (highest roll was 92, lowest roll was 42 :o. 2 of 8 rolls > 90%)
  • Turn 16: dice average was 58.6 (highest roll was 99, lowest roll was 25. 2 of 8 rolls > 90%)
  • Turn 15: dice average was 68.8 (highest roll was 98, lowest roll was 21. 6 of 17 rolls > 90%)

The TIE Defender doesn't exist yet... but I'm sure we could convince them to build a TIE fighter with upgraded weapons and actual shields. Maybe a hyperdrive if they have the time.
IIRC weren't TIE Fighters born out of the Jedi Starfighter program? And the reason they were kinda shit was because they were stripped-down, mass producible versions of that built on short notice?

Pretty sure they could build a much better fighter if they had time to develop something proper, instead of Palps going "Yo, Republic's now an Empire, gonna need 10 billion fighters by 8 AM tomorrow k thx bye."

TIE fighters were designed for the Republic Navy in its desire to standardise the design of the starfighters used. They were fast and manoeuvrable, easy to perform maintenance on, easy to fly, easy to store in large numbers (in crowded hangers they were attached to the ceiling and hanging off the outside of smaller ships) and cheap to mass produce. They also came with specialised variations (bomber, interceptor and later Defender) to fill the niches.

True, one on one with a X-wing and they were dead (in fact it was usually outgunned by most military starfighters). But a TIE fighter is rarely alone and a swarm of them is difficult to fight. Pilots where more in the 'we have reserves' category.
