thanks for getting clarification on this!
No problem. As I said, I'm a bit of a Mandalorian fanboy. And if we do this we need to find some way to get Jango involved.

[X] Plan The De-Phantomized Menace

Also changing my vote. It hits all of the things that I find important.

Hmm...I just want to be clear on this; the idea is that this would basically be an upkeep-reducing building, correct? Or would it be increasing income? I'm not entirely clear on which it's supposed to be.

I'm suggesting that it could be either upkeep-reducing OR income increasing OR we could have the option to build factories to meet both needs.

Sorry for not seeing these sooner by the by, Nexys.

[] Write in: Eclipsing the Black Sun: The greatest criminal cartel in the galaxy, fallen on hard times and recently making a hard attempt at returning, we've blighted their operations and harmed ourselves in the process. Let's show them that their best bet at new glory is under our Aegis. Send agents and mercenaries to co-opt or destroy as much of the Black Sun's remaining operations as we can find, with views to finding their illusive leaders. Chance of Success: ??% Reward: ??

Oooh, that's definitely an interesting idea. Tell you what; I'll create a Martial and Intrigue version of this action. I'd estimate that Martial would be 70% but loud, Intrigue would be 50% but quiet. I'll need to think about the rewards though.

[] Write-in: Dig Deeper: Coruscant's lowest levels are avoided, and for good reason. But that also means there are secrets and facilities that no one has ever touched in literal ages just waiting to be plundered and used. Lets find them. Cost: EXTREME DANGER. Reward: LOST TREASURES AND GARBAGE.

Hmm...okay I think I can work this. We'll go with this:

Lower Level Salvage Teams: Coruscant is an old, old planet and even though it has been occupied for ages there are still valuable secrets in the depths. Aside from all of the garbage. Cost: 100 Reward: 25 Income (Salvage), per-turn salvage roll for other benefits

I'm suggesting that it could be either upkeep-reducing OR income increasing OR we could have the option to build factories to meet both needs.

Hmm...okay then, based on the nature of the soon-to-be named planet I'm going to go with the upkeep-reducing option since the point of the planet is that it shouldn't be found by anyone. So...I'll write up the option next turn then since everyone's voted already.

Speaking of which, given that Publicola's The De-Phantomized Menace Plan currently has little to no competition, I will be calling the vote here. That being said, I want to confirm omake bonuses before I roll:

@Walkin' Man you are spending your omake bonus on Accelerate Research Action
@Whumbly you are spending your omake bonus on A Mandalorian's Touch
@NexysDhyArchen you have a +10 bonus to spend on an action of your choice. If you don't have a preference I can apply it to a random action myself.

[X] Plan The De-Phantomized Menace

For the moneys!!!

Alright, while I'm doing the rolls for this turn and such I'm giving you, The People, the probably-once-in-a-lifetime-if-you've-never-played-a-space-game-offer of naming your own planet!

Just bring up names and vote for it as you usually would.

If you want, you can rename the system too (not like anything else is there) with a new name or choose to leave it as is.

Let the people speak! Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to roll the dice. Be back soon~

I'll definitely be picking that upgrade up next turn!

I had a thought about this, actually. If we build a 'worker droid' factory that produces droids & other machinery to run our other factories, that would significantly reduce upkeep for the Devastator Factory and for others.

My suggestion would be, to let us build a single labor-droid Factory with high cost & upkeep, but that eliminates the upkeep for all other factories we build. It might look like:

[ ] Labor Droid Factory. Cost: 150. Upkeep: 100. Reward: reduces upkeep for all other factories on this planet to 0.

So it would be a long-term investment that'd only become cost-effective once we have a sufficient number of factories running (reflecting the 'economies of scale' involved in mass production).

Rename Private Planet, S-840:

[X] Shinpi (System)
[X] Delevan (Planet)

(Reasoning: as I've mentioned before, I really like our in-quest tradition of borrowing real words from foreign languages to name things in a Star Wars-y way. Hence 'Karada' Corporation (Japanese word for 'body/health') and 'Verusch' Labs (German for 'experimentation'). In this instance, 'Shinpi' is the Japanese word for 'mysterious' -- given that the whole system is a secret from the Galaxy (and given our own origin in the Coruscant underworld), I thought it'd be fitting for the name of the system. 'Delevan' is the Slovenian word for 'industrious', which fits our industry-heavy work on that planet, what with the automated farms and chemical labs and mines and vehicle factories.)

I'm pretty fond of both names, but I'm willing to change my mind on either if someone else has a good suggestion. For instance, Sinsystem and Muer'ci suggested La'Sombra (Spanish for 'the shadow') -- I like the name and considered using it for the System, but I'm more inclined to use that name for our new Asteroid Base (since we'll most likely be using it as a blacksite for our operations).

Here's a list of other options (besides the two I voted for):
  • Himitsu (Japanese word for 'secret')
  • Verborgen (German & Dutch word for 'hidden')
  • Kolenke (Kazakh for 'shadow')
  • Skugga (Swedish for 'shadow')
  • La'Sombra (Spanish for 'the shadow')
  • Kinben'na (Japanese word for 'hard-working')
  • Utapadakata (Punjabi for 'productivity')
  • Facundia (Latin for 'fertile' or 'fruitful')
  • Labhakari (Punjabi for 'productive')
I will update this list with others' suggestions as they are proposed.

Well I'm back from the rolls, and they were all kind of...meh.

Pirate Hunting: Rolled 19 + 26 = 45 (Bare Success, I have some great flavor text in mind for this)
A Grievous Introduction: Rolled 15 + 5 = 20 (Success, though if that had been a critfail...I don't even know)
A Mandalorian's Touch: Rolled 54 + 24 = 78 (Success)
Benevolent Takeover: Rolled 11 + 10 = 21 Reroll: 46 + 10 = 51 (Success, these fucking dice)
Hunt for a Nightsister: Rolled 63 + 48 = 111 (Well. I think we've got a decent start for a mini-arc here...)
I Have A Bad Feeling About This: Rolled 54 + 41 = 95 (Just shy of 100...though that should still come in handy)
Refine 'Buried Presence': Finished (I forgot to mention that rolls for multi-turn things are only going to happen on the first turn from now on. Not like it mattered here, but so so sorry for forgetting to bring it up sooner. I'll mention it again on the turn summary.)
Genemods: 1 Turn Remaining, Learning Action Unlocked (Yep)
Research Inhibitor Chips: Rolled 26 + 19 = 45 (Close Fail, given this and the assist research roll I think I can throw you guys a bone)
Assist Research: Rolled 33 + 10 = 43 (Success...yeah I think I can see how this would play out)

Sooo...that happened. I think The Dice are telling you to watch your necks from here on out.

Note that all bonuses are smooshed together for the sake of convenience.

So, did Snark inherit the Teron Dice?
Now there's an idea!

@Teron: would you mind rolling the dice -- not for real, just to see how this turn would have played out if you were QM'ing?

Looking at Dr. Snark's rolls... I am really glad we had all those Heroes and omakes supporting us, because the odds were definitely not in our favor.
  • Our highest roll was that 63 for Asajj that counted as a Crit (thanks to stacking so many bonuses together).
  • Our lowest roll was an 11 (for 'Takeover') that we rerolled
  • Our median roll was the 33 (for 'Accelerate Research')
  • Our dice average this turn was a mere 35.66 (sum of all rolls is 321, divide by 9).
Yikes. I second the motion from Khepri.

EDIT: I went back to look at the specifics of 'Teron dice'.
  • Turn 19: dice average was 47.3 (highest roll was 89, lowest roll was 5. There was a 'natural 100', but on the 'Disaster' roll. 0 of 9 rolls > 90%)
  • Turn 18: dice average was 66.1 (highest roll was 93, lowest roll was 7. 2 of 9 rolls > 90%)
  • Turn 17: dice average was 69.3 (highest roll was 92, lowest roll was 42 :o. 2 of 8 rolls > 90%)
  • Turn 16: dice average was 58.6 (highest roll was 99, lowest roll was 25. 2 of 8 rolls > 90%)
  • Turn 15: dice average was 68.8 (highest roll was 98, lowest roll was 21. 6 of 17 rolls > 90%)
So. That was interesting.

Basically, until his final turn, 'Teron dice' were pretty consistently in our favor as far as averages go, though there was still a decent spread from lowest to highest.

The key difference maker, in my opinion, was the number of criticals we scored: Teron rolled crits (>90%) about 25% of the time.

(I find it interesting to compare 'Teron dice' with our first turn results here. Our highest roll this turn was lower than the average for most previous turns; while this turn's average was in the same range as many of the lowest rolls we had with Teron dice. So yeah: this turn sucked, but then we were kinda spoiled in the old thread).

I find your lack of faith in your new QM disturbing.

Really though I was honestly as surprised as you guys; I was expecting the rolls to be much higher.

Anyway, don't forget that planet and system name voting is still a thing that's happening.
