Resume Building (Canon)
Resume Building

Jango Fett walked into his office on Mandalore and sat down. He turned to Zam Wessall "So, what's on the docket for today?"

Zam smiled at him "Well, you have a sparing match with a talented new recruit in half an hour, and that resume you requested from your lady friend has arrived."

He looked at her flatly "You spend too much time with Cirian these days."

"I think just enough."

Jango shakes his head and reviews the resume he just got. "Impressive. Just what I expected."

He heads to a private sparing chamber, that he had swept thoroughly for bugs less than an hour ago. He heads over and nods to his opponent. "Are you ready?"

The female replies "Yes Mand'alore."

"Good. Begin."

The two begin a flurry of blows and grapples as they engage in unarmed but armored combat. Jango Fett is clearly in the lead, but his opponent is keeping up surprisingly well. After several minutes of being on the losing end of attrition, the Mandalorian takes a gamble and throws a devastating right hook, going for a knockout blow. He ducks under her fist and brings his own in an uppercut, knocking her to the floor and sending her helmet clattering across the ground. Jango deploys his armor's flamethrower and points it at his opponent. She freezes, then speaks up

"I yield."

The Mand'alore nods and retracts his weapon, offering his opponent a hand "Impressive."

"Thank you."

He turns his back and remarks casually, "I see that you're skill hasn't dulled from our last encounter."

She stiffens then speaks up "I... ah..."

Jango smirked "You don't remember? It was several years ago when I was hired to help you and your squad escorted a Silver Dawn shipment through Hutt space. " He sighs theatrically "I suppose it was just another job to you. From what I understand, you've worked for them frequently for the last several years. Lady Ciaran wrote a glowing recommendation. You are a credit to your clan, Bo-Katan Kryze."

With every word Bo-Katan seemed to shrink further inward "Ah, yes. Thank you for your compliment."

Jango shrugged "Don't thank me. Just continue doing good work. After all, if the Duchess's family got caught in a scandal it could imperil Mandalore. I trust you understand."

She visibly cringed "...Yes sir."

At this point he softens a bit and claps a hand on her shoulder "Good. I truly did mean what I said. You are skilled, and I believe that your background is such that you can handle some of the more difficult missions of the Guardians, and I intend to assign you to them."

At this point she genuinely smiles "Thank you, I won't waste the chance you and Ciaran gave me."

A/N: So this was interesting to write: Jango does not like the Deathwatch at all, but at the same time, he sympathizes with Bo Katan somewhat, as she mainly fell in with the Deathwatch due to a lack of viable alternatives other than the pacifists. A lack that he blames on himself. Plus, there's no way he'd give Palpatine such a scandal to work with, so he asked Ciaran for help forging a paper trail to prove that Bo Katan was doing something other than domestic terrorism during the Deathwatch fiasco.

That makes sense. Deathwatch had a lot of influence and a lot of people, and neither us nor Jango ever really put in enough effort to fully eradicate them past the core fanatics. It would make sense to bring the non-crazies into the fold, help build up the Guardians and strengthen the Mandalorians.

A/N: Should be smaller than last turn's, but here goes....

Publicola's Write-In Megalist: Turn 26 Actions

Martial

[] CNS Defense Taskforce: The Council of Neutral System already has a Joint Forces Command that Lady Ciaran basically controls. Now that the CNS spans the galaxy, expand the JFC's role and integrate the new members' armies and fleets, to secure all CNS territory and ensure local stability and security. Cost: 100? Reward: improved odds for CNS recruitment, small decrease in CNS investment penalty (anti-piracy), better military preparedness

[] Heroes With No Fear: Anakin Skywalker has become something of a galactic celebrity due to his remarkable conduct in the war. Yet for all the attention he gets, he is constantly supported by the equally heroic clone soldiers of the 501st. Contact Anakin to offer the Abyss Watchers' support for the boys of the 501st, possibly including intelligence, logistics, and especially medical care.... Cost: 100 Upkeep: 50 Reward: 501st treated as potential asset for Anti-Palpatine Report. Inhibitor chips gradually removed from clones. Slight upgrade to Force Bond between Anakin and Ciaran.

[] Paramilitary Support: There are many paramilitary organizations in the galaxy, from Kligson's anti-Trade Federation militia on Grohl, to the pro-Jedi Antarian Rangers, to Lok Revenants and Mere Resistance and others, not to mention Kal Skirata's clone commandos. Offer support -- intelligence, logistics, medical care, safe harbor -- to each in exchange for their cooperation on future actions. Cost: high Upkeep: 100 Credits Reward: either +1 Martial Action (paramilitary), or a free roll each turn to 'suggest a target' for these groups, or +5 Martial or Intrigue default bonuses where applicable; paramilitary groups added as category for anti-Palpatine asset reports.
-[] OR 'Hero' Action for Jango Fett...

[] Preying Mantis: The Mantis Syndicate chapter of the Bounty Hunters Guild specializes in large-scale anti-piracy operations. How perfectly convenient, given the CNS's interest in fighting pirates around the galaxy. Extend an offer of support in exchange for a cut of the loot each turn. Cost: small Upkeep: none Reward: +50 Military income, per-turn loot roll, CNS space secured against pirates (slightly increased odds for CNS recruitment), Mantis Syndicate added as anti-Palpatine asset

Diplomacy:

[] Between the Light and Dark (OR 'Lore' action...)
-[] Jal Shey: a sect of nomadic diplomats and philosophers from the Indupar Crown Worlds, who specialize in the esoteric art of Force Imbuement.
-[] Aing-Tii Monks: a reclusive Force sensitive race from the furthest reaches of the Kathol Rift, known for their utter loathing of slavery and their astonishing mastery of space and time, through techniques of teleportation as well as flow-walking.
-[] Disciples of Twilight: located on the isolated colony of Dyspeth, founded by a former Jedi in the aftermath of the Ruusan Reformation, the Disciples specialize in illusion techniques said to surpass even the Fallanassi light-benders.

[] Council of the Grey: call all Force sects in Neutral Space, and any others you can think of, to send a representative or delegation to a galactic council. (Invite the Jedi to send Obi-Wan and Anakin along as well). Invite them to debate philosophy, share techniques, and generally spread chaos wherever they go....

[] Consolidate CNS Space
-[] Northern Outer Rim: appeal to the systems of Agamar and JanFathal, as well as other systems near Neutral strongholds, to join the CNS and end the threat of war ravaging their land. Reward: border gore reduced, increased probability for Outer Rim and neighboring systems to join the CNS

[] Negotiate for Thyferra: make contact with the Separatist Senate on Raxus Prime, and offer to negotiate with the CIS for a peaceful transition of Thyferra to CNS control. Specifically, arrange that bacta may be supplied to the Republic but solely for civilian use (permit Separatist auditors to ensure this remains the case), and offer limited concessions (increased production at lower price) to Separatist systems in exchange. Perhaps offer Karada Corp. as a neutral party, to distribute bacta supplies across the galaxy...

[] If Angels Were To Govern Men: okay, so appealing to the Senate's better nature isn't going to work. But all politicians are susceptible to pressure from the general public, and Ciaran is the most popular philanthropist in the galaxy. Appeal for an amendment to the Palpatine Tax, that it allow the 'contribution' to be paid in donations to Silver Cross, Refugee Relief Movement, or other charitable organizations.

Stewardship

[] Sienar Custom Vessels:
-[] Chu'unthor: ask Raith Sienar to take a look at the Chu'unthor and rebuild it to its full former glory.

[] Contact Ship-builders:
-[] Calamari Shipyards: the Mon Cala of Dac specialize in high-quality livable starships, and would be a powerful ally for CNS military readiness as well as the Abyss Watchers organization.

[] Acquire Treasury Records: beg Kal Skirata to provide some of those Treasury Records that his clone commandos have obtained in their investigations. Specifically, request the records to audit Palpatine's use of CNS funds, and hold him and the Senate accountable for the inevitable misallocation. If you 'happen' to learn the financial secrets of certain corporate rivals or Palpatine puppet companies, or accidentally insert a 'salami-slicing' virus to funnel money back to the CNS... well, who's going to object?

[] Acquire Circarpous Records: Yes, the financial center of the Republic just joined Neutral Space last quarter, which means perhaps you don't need Skirata after all. Send your accountants to the planet, secure their records, and figure out what Palpatine and his Inner Circle have been up to. Perhaps you could try that 'salami-slicing' scheme here instead....

[] Organize Galactic Games: now that Taris is reclaiming its swoop-bike heritage, you can arrange to have it host next year's Galactic Games.

[] Buy out Fry Industries: Tarisan Fry is perhaps the best security specialist in the galaxy. But his paranoia means he cannot enjoy the fruits of his own labor. Offer to buy out his company and resettle him in a more secure location -- whether on Taris, on the Oracle, or perhaps even on Kiln itself -- where he can dedicate himself not only to his passions and pet project, but join your organization as a member of the Abyss Council...

(OR Base Upgrade?)

[] Contact the Baobab Merchant Fleet: the Baobab family of Manda has cultivated a reputation as some of the finest traders in the galaxy, with a well-regarded Merchant Marine Academy and a nigh-legendary Archive of artifacts discovered in their many trade journeys. Now that they've joined the CNS, arrange for their merchant fleet to connect the planets of Neutral Space into an economy hole. Cost: ? Reward: CNS Investment penalty reduced, contact made, future collaboration possible

[] Oust Shu Mai: now that you've secured the acquiescence of SoroSuub, the eager cooperation of the Mining Guild, and the favorable opinion of the rest of the Commerce Guild (with Felucia itself applying for CNS membership) it's time to arrange for a vote of no confidence in the unpopular warmonger Shu Mai, and to firmly remove the Commerce Guild from the Separatist Council.

[] Tax Avoidance: use your Muun bankers and a small army of accountants and lawyers to exploit every single loophole in the Republic tax code, to minimize the effect of Palpatine's Tax on CNS finances.

[] Tax Evasion: forget legality. Use your pirates, smugglers, and underworld contacts to minimize our exposure to the Palpatine Tax.

[] Paperwork is the Bane of the Sith: Ask the Nimbanel (in Hutt Space) for their assistance in overwhelming Coruscant with legalese. Invite any and all CNS system to file suit against the Republic for the 'unconstitutional' and 'antidemocratic' 'Palpatine Tax', and generally make a nuisance of themselves so the new tax doesn't take effect.

Intrigue

[] Operation Ultra: use Fry's Codebreaker to target communications traffic around Coruscant. Specifically look for messages to and from the Senate Building, from the Chancellor's Office, and from the Republic Treasury -- to identify Senate corruption, uncover Sith plots, and 'follow the money'.

[] Assassinate Shu Mai: while Shu Mai is increasingly unpopular, it's not worth the effort to arrange a vote of no confidence, not when it would give Shu Mai the opportunity to respond (and in typically violent fashion). Preemptively end the whole ordeal by arranging for her 'accidental' demise.

[] Jailbreak Ovolot Qail Uthan: mad scientist who designed an anti-clone bioweapon that Palpatine now controls. She's more familiar with clone genetics than just about anyone, so despite her craziness, she should be very useful for working on the clone aging problem for Kal Skirata's group.

[] Infiltrate Tipoca City: help Kal Skirata's clone commandos hack the Kamino mainframe, to identify the 'manufacture' details of the cloning process, identify the group of clones with defective inhibitor chips, and learn if it's possible to remotely reprogram the chips with innocuous orders.

[] Ask Kal Skirata for access to Treasury data (to track Palpatine's financial assets, holdings, connections to Damask Holdings, etc.) Perhaps contact Keets Freely for tie-in to his earlier investigative journalism?

Lore:

[] Research Alternative Force Schools: (OR 'Diplomacy' action)

[] An Elegant Weapon, for a More Civilized Age: seriously, it's long past overdue. Have your Abyss Agents and Abyss Walkers build themselves lightsabers, from the kyber crystals harvested from Dantooine.

[] No Match for a Good Blaster at your Side: the Abyss Watchers have never been ones for tradition. Forget lightsabers; have your Agents and Walkers use those kyber crystals to build blasters and other ranged weapons for themselves, ideally suited for Blazing Chain and other Force techniques.

Learning:

[] Nano-Droids, Son: you have the technology. Use it for more than bioweapon resistance. Program nano-droids to enhance your forces' musculature and reflexes, multi-form weaponry, nano-fabricators... the possibilities are endless.

[] Hire Kaori Batta: you know where to find him. The 'best big-game hunter in the galaxy' is a regular at Exovar's Emporium on Neftali. Ask him to hunt down the most dangerous creatures in the galaxy, starting with a wild taozin...

(OR turn into a competition with Grievous, as a Hero Action...)

Personal:

[] Personal Tutoring (Apprentices or Agents): With some extra dedicated time, you can substantially increase the skill of your Force Users and thus improve their odds of promotion. Reward: This turn, +30% Apprentice promotion chance and/or +15% Agent promotion chance

[] Construct a Lightsaber: self-explanatory

[] Construct a Force-friendly ranged weapon: you have a lava crystal from Dantooine. Use it to construct a blaster that causes 'splash damage'.

[] Construct a Holocron: the Jedi have lost this technology for hundreds or thousands of years. Fortunately, you employ a Sith Lord who made his own, which means Vectivus can teach you how to do the same. Perhaps you'll find a way to make one that isn't dark and menacing...

Hero Units:

Jango

[] Reclaim Outland Transit Station: Rozatta was Jango's best (and possibly only) friend during his years as a bounty hunter. She was killed and the station was heavily damaged during 'The Hunt' that led Jango to be hired by Count Dooku as the clone army template. Send him to reclaim the station as a smuggler's den and supply port on the outskirts of Hutt Space.

[] Recruit Cuy'val Dar: Jango called together the best soldiers, commandos, and mercenaries in the galaxy to help him train the clone soldiers. Call them back and recruit them for a much larger mission: to fight evil, save the galaxy, and make a boatload of credits. Offer them support to set up their own bounty hunter chapters and paramilitary groups.

[] Mission to Kholma: formerly the headquarters of the Bando Gora dark-side cult, the citadel was destroyed by Jango Fett at the end of his 'Hunt'. Send him back, to scour the moon for clues, artifacts, loot, and anything else that catches his eye.

[] House Of Killers: Given that you're going to be dealing with a lot of high-profile targets in both the Republic and CIS, it might be worthwhile to get some outside help as it were. Assign Jango Fett to establish a bounty hunter chapter of your own so that you can gather these people together for your own ends. Reward: Watchers bounty hunter chapter established (Change this from 'Diplomacy' action to 'Hero' action)

[] Body Double: Assign Zam Wesell to serve as Ciaran's body double. Not only would this improve Ciaran's security, but Zam Wesell would eventually learn to take on specific tasks, freeing up Ciaran for other pursuits. Reward: (with 'Personal Assistance Routines') gain +1 Personal Action

HK-47
[] Write the Book: No one has more experience in fighting, defeating, and killing Force Users -- Jedi and Sith. Assign him to recall and write out a comprehensive how-to manual. Not only will this give us better odds in a straight fight; it'd also teach us typical vulnerabilities and how to avoid them.

Cheriss
[] Self-Upgrades: Use mechu daru to drastically improve her own frame and abilities....

[] Train Force Specialists, Mechanics: Now that Cheriss has learned mechu daru, she can teach it to our other agents. Reward: Abyss Agents can be assigned to support 'Learning' (engineering/robotics) actions; Abyss Walkers count double(?)

PR-1
[] Personal Assistance Routines: train PR-1 to take on increased responsibilities for Ciaran, so she can dedicate more time to her training. Reward: (with 'Body Double'), gives +1 Personal Action

[] Stewardship Specialization: give PR-1 access to every possible finance, business, accounting, and corporate upgrade you can get your hands on, to make him as good as Borvo at managing your credits.

Asajj
[] Between Light and Dark: assign Asajj to contact other Force sects around galaxy (not including Darthomir) to learn techniques! [You said you would "think about it" last turn...]

[] Contact Bec Lawise: the Congress Leader of the Separatist Parliament happens to be a Siniteen, a native of Rattatak and thus the lawful subject of Asajj Ventress. Sure, he believes Asajj is dead, but wouldn't he be interested to learn that Asajj was targeted on the orders of Count Dooku. Perhaps he can stir up some dissension from within the Separatist ranks...

On the bright side, Palpatine spending so much effort politically screwing us is probably costing him in his own internal political stability, and entrenchment. Also weakening his efforts to discredit the Jedi.

Hmm, how many fronts can be opened so that Palpatine will be swamped with stuff to do while we slowly dismantle his powerbase?

So anyone else has the urge to use Pirate Fleets to harass Republic/Courascant to highlight it's incompetence? And Sereno, to show that CIS are no better?

Might I suggest a write-in handing off the hot potato issue of the bacta planet to Obi-wan and his gf? Showing them both this fantastic opportunity for the Republic a d galaxy at large, then point out the military necessities in acceptance of their application alongside Palpatine fucking it all over beforehand. And then let them figure it out, since Ciaran isn't actually a part of the CNS government, really.

Title: Tossing the Hot Planet.

Can we just write in an action that very non-specifically says "Fix The Thyferra Situation" and take it, then laugh as we crit it and this whole thing poofs away?

A/N: <sighs heavily> I make no promises.

Publicola's Write-In Megalist: Turn 26 Base Upgrades

New Bases:

[] Corellia: headquarters of Corellian Engineering, homeworld of gifted pilots to recruit, center of Corellian Jedi sect and much more...
[] Bothawui: headquarters of Bothan Spynet, homeworld of gifted spies to recruit...

[] Pantora: headquarters of Baron Papanoida's media empire, as well as his private galaxy-spanning spynet; the planet is currently supplied by Abyss Watchers despite Trade Federation blockade (discount?)

Base Upgrades:

Coruscant Base:

[] Karada Expansion: Setting up more specialized branches of Karada would help you get more credits out of the company.
-[] Karada Laboratories: set up a public-facing research laboratory to develop more medicine and pharmaceuticals for general use.
-[] Karada Academy: expand the training programs, to offer conferences and collaborative projects between other major medcenters in the galaxy, and cross-training for doctors who specialize in different skill sets (surgeon vs. pediatrician) and different species.

[] Coruscant History Museum: collaborate with the Galactic Museum, and open an exhibit featuring (selected) items discovered by your Coruscant salvage teams. Reward: boost to salvage income. 'Undercity Takeover' provides additional income/is cheaper

[] Senate Security Systems Training Compound: Palpatine has his Red Guards. Your security teams shouldn't be anything less than elite. Reward: increased Military income, from more senators hiring SSS for protection.

[] Surveillance Infrastructure
-[] 500 Republica: the biggest apartment building in the galaxy, this thousand-story skyscraper is home to roughly half the Senate, including Padme, Orn Free Taa, and Palpatine himself. Infiltrate it.

[] Fund 'Senatorial Accounts Presidium': a government watchdog group based in Coruscant's financial district that could use a quick infusion of cash and would be very grateful to Ciaran's support...

[] Uscru Investments: the entertainment center of Coruscant could use an infusion of Outer Rim culture. Invest in a playhouse or venue, and organize regular performances showcasing the culture of various CNS members.

[] All Planets Market: this massive marketplace showcasing the products of the galaxy would be an ideal venue for promoting the CNS. Purchase enough space and rent it out to member-systems of the CNS.

Kaleesh Outpost:

[] Farming Complex: buy land, invite the Ithorians to revolutionize Kaleesh agriculture, and make the planet green again.

[] Industrial District: invest heavily in Kaleesh industry, from textiles to vehicles and arms manufacturing (credit to @Andres110)

[] Tradeport: now that Kalee is connected to the rest of the galaxy, especially with Muun financing, invest heavily in the commercial sector and establish a tradeport so Kalee can buy and sell goods on the galactic market.

[] Karada Facility: 'Ciaran, Goddess of War' will take on the aspect of the Healer. Have the Abyss Watchers set up a medical center on Kalee

[] Kaleesh Security Agency: with their success in policing & providing security for Muunilist, perhaps the Kaleesh might do the same for other planets around Neutral Space?

[] Megafauna Museum: If Grievous is any indication, the Kalee would be honored to host a zoo/museum of the biggest and baddest animals in the galaxy. Especially since he already dumped a exogorth carcass as the first exhibit. Reward: Containment facilities for aggressive fauna constructed

(This would replace the 'Containment Facilities' upgrade for our asteroid base, and let it generate income while still serving as a research facility. It might even be cheaper, since Kalee is so underdeveloped and so martial-focused that they'd consider it an honor to wrangle various lethal creatures on our behalf...)

Oracle (Lucrehulk):
N/A

Mandalorian Mansion:
N/A

Lordran, Kiln:
N/A

La'Sombra (Asteroid Base):

[] Svivreni Research Facilities: The isolated nature of the facility and the already present research equipment make La'Sombra a prime location for setting up facilities dedicated to researching anomalous or rare materials in the galaxy. Cost: 100 Upkeep: 50 Reward: Decreased research times for current/future anomalous/rare materials research

(Now that Svivren is a CNS member -- that being the home planet of the best darn geologists in the galaxy -- should we be able to recruit them for our Anomalous Materials research? And would that be cheaper, since they're so much better at it than everyone else?)

Nar Shaddaa Property:
N/A

Castell Facility:
N/A

Muunilist Mansion:
N/A

Vectivus' Home:
N/A

Kashyyyk Facility:

[] Incom Expansion: if you are interested in hiring Wookie engineers, perhaps the other major starship corporations would feel the same way? Invite them to expand their facilities to the planet, and move more of their work away from Palpatine's sphere of influence in the Core. Cost: 100 Reward: +50 investment income

[] Sienar Expansion: if you are interested in hiring Wookie engineers, perhaps the other major starship corporations would feel the same way? Invite them to expand their facilities to the planet, and move more of their work away from Palpatine's sphere of influence in the Core. Cost: 100 Reward: +50 investment income

[] Kuat Expansion: if you are interested in hiring Wookie engineers, perhaps the other major starship corporations would feel the same way? Invite them to expand their facilities to the planet, and move more of their work away from Palpatine's sphere of influence in the Core. Cost: 100 Reward: +50 investment income

(Separate 'starship corporations' into individual upgrades; @Dr. Snark can decide if the costs/rewards should be reduced or if one of these doesn't fit)

Taris Property:

[] Incom Orbital Shipyards (help them expand beyond surface factories)

[] Aquaculture Investment: expand the Tarisian kelp farms -- more aquaculture income, healthier ecosystem

[] Ecological Renewal: hire the Ithorians to make Taris healthy to live in again -- improved life expectancy + aesthetics, tourism + recycling income

[] Galactic Swoop Racing Circuit: re-found racing circuit from days of the Old Republic, as symbol of Taris's revitalization (tourism income?)

[] Expanded Trade Port

[] Eastgate District: reopen the historic commercial & warehousing district, to further expand our investment income

[] Mercy Hospital: destroyed by Malak's bombardment and unrecovered due to the rakghoul plague, now the once-great medical center of Taris can be reclaimed in the name of Karada Corporation

[] Rebuild the Jedi Tower: once known as 'Taris Academy', then the center of the 'Jedi Covenant' dark hunters, then reduced to rubble by Malak's invasion. Rebuild and claim it as the 'official' center of the 'Abyss Walkers' Force sect (use as meeting place for 'Council of the Grey' action?)

[] Promised Land: Open a skyway and mass-transit speeder train between the Promised Land and the Tarisian surface, so they can participate in the economic recovery as well.

[] Nekghoul Recruitment Center: hire the new Nekghoul colonists as Guardians and (especially) as Abyss Agents. Reward: +1-2 Abyss Apprentices per turn

[] Lhosan Industries: expand the newly-reincorporated corporation to manufacture slings, speeders, and other vehicles similar to swoop-bikes.

[] Taris Sporting Center: stadiums and arenas for entertainment income, pitch Taris as host planet for next year's Galactic Games

[] Sports Development Program: fund youth sports league, 'farm teams'/minor leagues for various sports, sponsor a Taris sports franchise

[] Space Curling! (asteroids and tractor beams...)

[] Taris Shipyards: under our own control, provide a friendly drydock for ships traversing Neutral Space... for a fee. (+ investment income, able to build/repair our own ships)

[] Karada Shipyards: specialize in constructing hospital ships for humanitarian missions, for Abyss Watcher use, and by commission for various militaries...

[] Fry Industries Facilities: invite Talesan Fry to move his security company to Taris, and give him control over the local security protocol...

[] Cantina Franchise: expand your cantina franchise to Taris

[] Large-scale Wiretaps: keep an eye on the 'Coruscant of the Outer Rim'

Naboo Mansion:

[] Large-scale Wiretaps: keep an eye on Palpatine's home planet...

Cato Neimoidia Mansion

[] Defense Grid

[] Invest in Trade Federation businesses

[] Expand Baktoid vehicle factory: production lines
-[] Single-Trooper Aerial Platform: drastically increase speed & mobility of battle droid squads
-[] Armored Assault Tanks: drastically increase the armor and firepower of battle droid squads
-[] Multi-Troop Transport: battle droid squads may be securely stored until needed (removes cap on production?)
-[] Platoon Attack Craft: battle droid squads may be quickly deployed in battle as needed (and stored as needed)
-[] Vulture-class droid starfighter: cheap autonomous starfighters used for space combat (may require reprogramming to be useful...)
-[] C-9979 Landing Craft: spacebound transports for MTTs and AATs

[] Expand Baktoid shipping center: send battle droids & vehicles offworld...

[] Trade Port

[] Karada Medcenter: expand Karada to Neimoidian capital

[] Large-scale Wiretaps: keep an eye on the Trade Federation headquarters...

[] Purchase Rush Clovis's Factory: thanks to our spynet, we know pretty much all the details of Rush Clovis's factory that would have been built. So buy the land and build it anyway, but for Abyss Watcher and CNS use...

Dantooine Facility

[] AgriCorps Outpost: help your Ithorian allies to claim the abandoned Jedi AgriCorps outpost, with whatever research notes remain within.

[] Agriculture Investment: invite Ithorian allies to improve agricultural production on the planet

[] Expand Luxus Resort: secure conference center for off-world bankers

[] Asteroid Mining: Dantooine is surrounded by several major mineral-rich asteroid fields, including the 'Wall of Dantooine' that is notably rich in obsidian deposits. Start mining the area for fun and profit

[] Salvage Team: explore the ruins of the Jedi Enclave (with its legendary and unexplored sublevels), as well as the nearby Rakatan Ruins, Crystal Caves. Reward: no regular salvage income, but per-turn salvage roll and per-turn event roll (OR two salvage rolls that can give events?)

(Event roll seems necessary, given just how much awesome stuff can be found on site: ancient cloning lab with research notes rediscovered (in canon) by a CIS mad scientist, a still-intact Jedi Archive (including the 'Codex of Tython' super-holocron with Old Republic tech), a droid bay filled with GE3-series protocol droids, not to mention the Rakatan Star Map, as well as the intact (!) Temple guardian droid encountered by Revan...)

Ord Mantell Compound

[] Smuggler's Den: Ord Mantell is a major commercial center on the Celanon Run, but it was also controlled by the Black Sun and has a reputation as one of the largest shadowports in the galaxy.

[] Fort Garnik Depot: Ord Mantell is an 'ORD', after all -- built by the old Republic as an 'Ordnance/Regional Depot'. Reclaim the old Republic citadel on Mount Avilatan, and offer to store weapons and vehicles for CNS systems in the galactic north, just in case war breaks out with the Republic or the CIS. The CNS planets would of course pay you for the privilege...

[] Ord Mantell banking: invest in the local financial sector, and become a major lender in the northern Mid Rim

[] Conference Center: create a neutral ground for sensitive business meetings among the local clientele.

[] Cantina Franchise: because why not?

[] Gurlanin Recruitment Center: the neighboring planet of Qiilura does not like offworlders living on site, so your recruitment center will need to be based out of Ord Mantell. Fortunately, the Gurlanin really like you after you fixed their issue with the Republic colonists, so it should be fairly easy to find recruits among the race of Force-sensitive changeling spies....!

[] Salvage Teams: nearly half the planet is occupied by the Scraplands, a hemisphere-sized junkyard. It shouldn't be hard to find treasure lying around to be reclaimed, especially given how much history can be found on the planet...

-[] Single-Trooper Aerial Platform: drastically increase speed & mobility of battle droid squads
-[] Armored Assault Tanks: drastically increase the armor and firepower of battle droid squads
-[] Multi-Troop Transport: battle droid squads may be securely stored until needed (removes cap on production?)
-[] Platoon Attack Craft: battle droid squads may be quickly deployed in battle as needed (and stored as needed)

Reward: no regular salvage income, but per-turn salvage roll and per-turn event roll

[] Gurlanin Recruitment Center: the neighboring planet of Qiilura does not like offworlders living on site, so your recruitment center will need to be based out of Ord Mantell. the only problem i see is that ciaran would not be a godess of war, she didnt realy do war, she found out the truth and showed it to the galaxy.
ciaran, godess of truth? lie's? both? yeah both would do.

Oh good, I was just thinking we didn't have enough options. :lol

One problem with this, is that if Silver Cross becomes more visible and more effective in its work, people will conclude it's due to the Republic subsidies, and Palpatine will become more popular.

Ideally, we should try to make it clear that Palpatine's Tax is hurting Silver Cross, because CNS systems are less able to donate funds in support. Point out how big the new tax is, and how little of that money is going to charity work. (This would be an ideal time for Kal Skirata to chip in with his access to Republic and GAR financial records, to show where that money is going. Or we could use Fry's Codebreaker for the same purpose, and break the banks' encryption ourselves...).
Better idea. Initiate conflict between the Silver Cross and the Confederates. Make it look like they started it and are doing it because they think it's Palpatine's puppet now. Use the negative PR to hurt Palpatine, and the opportunity to fund 'protection' for Silver Cross as an excuse to claim Thyferra.

...The details are probably fairly important to pull this off right though.

accidentally insert a 'salami-slicing' virus to funnel money back to the CNS
No, not to the CNS, but instead to our own pocket.

[] Tax Avoidance: use your Muun bankers and a small army of accountants and lawyers to exploit every single loophole in the Republic tax code, to minimize the effect of Palpatine's Tax on CNS finances.
Two problems with this. First, it's an action. It shouldn't be. Like with Sienar, we ourselves aren't doing anything, so it shouldn't take up any of our time. They're doing the work so that we don't have to and for that they're getting paid money. Second, it wouldn't be a "small" army.

[] Construct a Force-friendly ranged weapon: you have a lava crystal from Dantooine. Use it to construct a blaster that causes 'splash damage'.
This makes actual sense for a lava crystal. Still, it would leave us without a lightsaber so we should go looking for another crystal after we use the lava crystal for a blaster.

You're asking HK-47 to write a book? You do know that he hates having to act as a protocol droid, right? It would make more sense to make him fulfil his purpose and kill things. Considering his skill-set, the best targets we can set him on are Maul, Savage, Talzin, and the rest of the Nightsisters.

(Now that Svivren is a CNS member -- that being the home planet of the best darn geologists in the galaxy -- should we be able to recruit them for our Anomalous Materials research? And would that be cheaper, since they're so much better at it than everyone else?)
If anything I'd see them as giving us better results but being more expensive. They know their worth.

[] Galactic Swoop Racing Circuit: re-found racing circuit from days of the Old Republic, as symbol of Taris's revitalization (tourism income?)
I've already managed to convince Snark that the enormity of the task and the massive amounts of profit, influence, and opportunities it would give us means that it should be an action, not a mere base upgrade.

[] Taris Shipyards: under our own control, provide a friendly drydock for ships traversing Neutral Space... for a fee. (+ investment income, able to build/repair our own ships)
Since it's a drydock for ships, this could instead go under Military income.

@Publicola, add the buying of high class restaurants to the Coruscant list. A lot of important people go there to discuss important things and spend inordinate amounts of money on overpriced food.

[] Construct a Holocron: the Jedi have lost this technology for hundreds or thousands of years. Fortunately, you employ a Sith Lord who made his own, which means Vectivus can teach you how to do the same. Perhaps you'll find a way to make one that isn't dark and menacing...

If we're going to make the Abyss Walkers a 'proper' force sect, do we need a code? Or can we just 'borrow' one?
