I mean. If the odds are low we could use Personal Attention and demand the crit. Total bonus would be +59 if it's a Diplomacy Action. +72 if it's a Lore Action. People seem to not appreciate the power of Personal Attention and how bonkers it is. Full Stat Boost PLUS an extra 10 for Force Vision.

Honestly the ship itself isn't irreplaceable. It's the data and relics within that are. We get that data, we can build our own training facilities. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice ship, but if I looks like we're gonna have to annihilate an entire tribe of Force witches, the leader of whom knows Yoda, it might not be worth it. We might want to take what we can get without bringing down further attention on us. If we do decide that it's worth the risk and take them on, it is paramount that nothing can point in our direction.

Oh quit panicking people. We stole half of Naboo from under the noses of three different armies when we weren't half as good as we are now. We can steal one spaceship from a pack of tribals who aren't even keeping an active eye on the thing.

Hell, just show up in a ship with a heavy tractor beam, pull the thing out of the ground and run. What exactly are they going to do to stop us?

Briefing the Boss Pt. 3

Helpful and deserving of a +10, though currently non-canon for obvious reasons.

@Dr. Snark Has the Invisible Hand been upgraded by Dooku yet ? In canon he upgraded the comms and sensor and turned it into his mobile propaganda spewing machine and called it the "Wizard's Tower".

Hmm...since Dooku is going to be pissed off at Sev'rance enough as it is for completely losing Onderon against all odds, I think I can say that yes it did get that particular upgrade.

The power of sass is more corrupting than even the Dark Side. Canon, +10.

No War Hawks Allowed

I do love how you've portrayed the dynamic between Ciaran and Padme. Currently non-canon (but will become canon very soon-ish), +10.

I just thought of something. Didn't Sidious tell Dooku to pull the trigger with the blackmail? Are we going to see that happen this turn? Because I've really been looking forward to seeing their reactions when they look like idiots :p

...You're not going to see it this turn (it's a conspiracy after all so it'll stay quiet at first), but you'll see the results/reactions next turn.

Excellent. One question for @Dr. Snark: Qiilura is basically right next to Ord Mantell -- technically they're different sectors, but the map has them about as close as they could be otherwise. Should this Reward also add Ord Mantell to the CNS, or would that require a separate roll?

Likewise, Qiilura's neighbors to the north includes Obredaan -- the homeworld of the Jin'ha race that specializes in producing cortosis weapons (and luckily, cortosis happens to be plentiful on the planet...) Would that be brought into the CNS?

Hmm...I'll let you have Ord Mantell and justify it by saying that you used some of the new assets you got on the planet to help sway it but I think I'm going to have Obredaan be separate.

Excellent -- that's +75 Income, on top of what we'd planned for with the Balance Sheet. Would this income be classified as additional Information & Smuggling income (like the original 'diverted funds') or as Investment income (since this time we were seizing assets directly)? Also, were we even able to touch the Af'El system, or were we solely focused on Ord Mantell?

Looking forward to that base, though!

Going to say that for bookkeeping purposes file the income under Info/Smuggling like before.

And the reason that you're getting the Ord Mantell base is because there's a lot more that I can do with the planet as opposed to Af'El.

'Blockade Running' -- would that technically be classified 'Smuggling' income?

Sure.

ah thanks, just wasn't sure if you saw it or not. also will we be able to acutally use any of those possibly applications if we roll well on out study cortosis roll?

So what is the Singing Mountain Clan known for.

Not for being skilled enough with the Darkside to give your pilot an aneurysm with a variant of Force Crush while you're still in orbit.

On a tangential note, let's try to avoid pissing off Gethzerion. Sheev is scared of that woman.
One ability they have is Force Storm, which means their top tier guys can pick up any one guy (or more) off the floor, spin them around on the spot repeatedly and then beat the tar out of that person without any reprisal.
No? It's a storm. Created through the Force. Very literal name. And it's the Nightsisters that use that trick.

Why is Thrawn higher than us in Diplomacy?
Because Thrawn is absurd.

Because he's Thrawn. Why else?

That's no excuse considering it's not his specialty and we've been dealing with governments since before we found him while he lacked the necessary tact (and intrigue I guess) to get himself exiled anywhere other than a death world. I'm not saying he shouldn't be skilled in it; I'm saying ours should be higher. Thrawn's a genius and has worked with us heavily in our diplomatic achievements but surely we've done just as much work? I mean 24 vs. 30 isn't a large difference but it's a noticeable one.

It's more mechanical concessions than anything else. Remember that boosting any of Ciaran's stats is an effective 2x boost to Personal Attention on any action in comparison to normal hero boosts.

Edit: Though Bones' explanation is also quite accurate.

Which is exactly why he's currently outpacing us (probably). Ciaran deals with governments. Thrawn deals with people. Most of Ciaran's diplomatic skills were either bolstered by her reputation, Intrique based back room dealings and general shadiness, or backing her words with a pile of money. It's been awhile since she's had a challenge, and she's gone complacent (or rather we've let her get complacent). She's just been coasting along as of late.

And don't put Thrawn down. His exile wasn't due to lack of tact. He was well aware that he was probably going to get himself exiled, but put the greater good above tradition and bit the proverbial bullet.

Have you even heard his voice actor in Rebels? That guy really knows how to make Thrawn an intimidating, yet subtle character capable of bringing results. He is also very well educated and would of had to do plenty of public speaking since he was an Admiral before.

The only way I would ever find that stat ridiculous was if he was talking while this was playing in the background.

This would easily boost his Diplomacy by an additional 5 points, absolutely no way to deny it here. For everyone in Star Wars knows that you don't ever ignore someone with an intimidating theme. Vader would like to have a few words with anyone who even tries.

If there's one good thing we can all agree on when Disney took over Star Wars, they brought Star Wars' most interesting villain to our screens and made him faithful to the Legends Portrayal.

Before I head to work, I think I'll just bite the bullet and fight my writer's block with a small vote: Which of these ideas would people like me to work on more?

- Politics and Posturings Part 2
- Ciaran becomes a Kaleesh Goddess
-HK-47 has a Mind Trip
- Ciaran Does some Meditation
-The Next Generation meets Thrawn for Dinner
-What Could have been the Shatterpoint Crit reward
- A Serious Ciaran is a Scary Sight
- Thrawn makes an Opponent

I'll focus more on whichever is highest after my shift tonight.
