Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

So I'm going to tell you something that is a personal…

Peeve I have:

I am really ready to start getting some more fun actions so that Bruce can de stress.

Expect them to be cool and interesting.

The Unkillable Soldier: The Life of Adrian Paul Ghislain Carton de Wiart
Personally, I had the idea of making a movie about Mad Jack Churchill aka the only man crazy enough to fight with a claymore and a bow in WWII.
[]Its to insane to film (Someone had the insane idea to find some batshit insane story and make a movie about it)
"To Hell and Back" was made back in '55 (with Audie Murphy starring as himself), so there is precident for epic war movies about ridiclously badass real life people and their exploits.

Movie Pitch: A New Magical Mystery Tour
Prompt Name: A New Magical Mystery Tour
Genre: Comedy, Musical, History
Sub-Genre: Rockumentary, Revisiting the Past
Format: Movie
General Idea: This film took place 6 years after Magical Mystery Tour was shut down for its poor reviews and declared a problem to public safety after The Beatles toured in the bus with musicians causing ruckus that could potentially make the bus crash. Two kids from America learned of the entire fuss in an old newspaper in their attic. Quite curious, the two managed to get their parents to bring them to Liverpool, England for a summer vacation.

Over the early days there, the duo went around to ask people in search of the Magical Mystery Tour Bus and received cold glances, people ignoring the question, and some that just stood up and left them, it was until a weird photographer with psychological gibberish interested in their case, promises to lead them to the bus only at Wednesday Morning at 5 O'Clock.

One Wednesday Morning at 5 O'Clock, The family then goes out (parents are sceptics of this, but would rather go there with their children) to where the photographer said to meet them in, and he was there when they arrived. He leads them to a lit up bus of Yellows and Blues, with the children surprised while the parents more sceptical. The parents being parents then complained about the whole shebang being fake and nothing more but stage magic. The camera point switches to the kids as they enter the bus to look inside it. While searching inside it, they come across a button that says "Roll up, Roll up!", thinking it was just the beep button of the car, they clicked it.

And that is how they start off on their Magical Mystery Tour.

Ideas/Concepts of what the kids see and experience in this Magical Mystery Tour:

  • They learned that the magicians were actually Blue Meanies attempting to scout out The Beatles.
  • Many lost/given up Beatles Songs are played in the film.
  • Shows the kids the world of late 1950s Liverpool.
  • Gets to see how John and Paul meet up at Woolton's Parish
  • And many more. (Ideas, Concepts, etc. may change later down the road)

Inspiration: Magical Mystery Tour's poor reception (Quite Obvious), Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (Want to input the sense of wonderness, magic, etc. into the film), Rock Music in general (While this is a loose base on a Rockumentary of the Beatles, music from Body Holly, Elvis Presely, and other musicians from this time period is heard. Additionally Skittle music would be prominent on a tour.)

Uh, didn't the reward I got say we auto pass the first bracket and get a large bonus to the next parts of writing this?

Yep here it is. You forgot both the auto-pass and the bonus entirely

So in addition to the new Carrie award because of the sex, there should be an additional +10 bonus from my "Mary Jane's Last Dance" Omake where in addition to Carrie starting recovery, all Carrie actions would permanently get +10, so Carrie stuff should get +20 thus the action would be a 49. Was that forgotten? In the end, a guest star on the Mary Tyler Moore show is a decent start and FAR BETTER than the shitty Shampoo film. Hope this is the start of great things for Carrie.

How come there were no SP bonuses to the acting job when we have a bunch of them lined up in the Omake Rewards? Was it because of the nat 4 for the direction difficulty? Stinks that Bruce wasn't able to do that great of a job, but at least we followed Scott's direction and didn't screw things up terribly.

Will these changes be updated in the turn results soon?

Alright everyone The turn has been updated with the fixed rolls, and rewards.

Carrie's actions rewards did not change, but the writing did.
A New Magical Mystery Tour
I really want to hate this. And hate you for this as well:mad:

But I'm a man of my word.

[]A Magical Mystery Tour (John Lennon picks up the phone from his oldest friends)
[]I Dream a Dream (Paul McCartney realizes that he misses his friends, and just wants the old times back)
[]And I chose Life (George Harrison, looked at his last Ciggerette and threw it away. It would be the last one he would ever have)

Ah c'mon man! A Reunion vs George's Life..

For George Harrison option, would it mean he completely stops smoking and does not smoke for the entirety of this timeline?
He completely stops smoking.

He still has smoked for several years at this point. but the possibility of him surviving longer may be on the cards.

We All Watch TV Turn 25 (September 1973)
MASH Reception:

Audience Reception:D100 => 93+60=153

Season 1 of MASH was lightning in a Bottle, a catalyst that could only be done from the outset by a group of artists that were serious, and dedicated to the craft of acting, directing, and Filmmaking.

Season 1 was a miracle that captivated the imagination of America in a way that few shows, in your mind, ever really did. Sure there were others, but it did not really have the same effect of being conscious and funny at the same time.

Plus it was a miracle that it was even made, and by god, you wanted so badly to forget about the bad old days.

Season Two, however, had something the first seasons never had. Expectations.

That was to say, it wasn't a bad thing, but it wasn't a great thing either. You had to knock their socks off to keep the momentum going, for the show to not be seen as a one-season wonder.

That all changed after the first episode, which was the highest-watched premiere in CBS' Entire history, something that Miss Ball took all the way to the shareholders, and to the bank with advertisers from the entire planet trying to get a spot on the lucrative 6 PM slot where MASH aired. Somewhere up to a million dollars per thirty seconds of ads were being offered, something that was almost unheard of.

You were amazed at that.

But you cared more about how everyone was seen.

Alan was just continuing to be great, the same with almost everyone else, but no one really stood out.

Except, of course, for you.

You were always considered a highlight of every episode, but the episode you Directed, Episode 3, was arguably the best episode in the entire series.

And you knew it too, because CBS couldn't keep up with all the fan mail that was drowning the office.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Critical Reception:D100 + 30 => 119

It seems you've been nominated again, for an Emmy, but this time for directing, as Alan was the one who was nominated for Best supporting actor.

Seems someone didn't want you to get the award in a row.

Or maybe cause someone hates you.
----------------------

Reward: +300,000 Dollars.

You have been nominated for an Emmy for Best director.

Ed Woods Mystery Theater:

Audience Reception:D100 => 77

To say that the shocking surprise of the year was Ed Wood heading and producing… and writing… and directing… many episodes of this strange and funny show… was just awe-inspiring.

Ed Wood, the laughing stock of all of Hollywood, someone who could not make a film to save his own life, in the end, proved how talented he really was. With simple, and brilliant stories and a revolving door of brilliant actors that were playing the role…

Well in the end, he found an audience, he found his calling, and while he lacked every sort of talent that made people earn their way in hollywood. He learned.

He had learned over decades of experience. And he showed them all.

It was not the best tv show… hell someone would even claim it was terrible.

Yet… It was honest, it was earnest, and it was funny, despite some of the great problems that it had in the final product.

And that resonated with people.

And that made everything… all the more fun.

It may not survive the season, hell, it might not even be picked up.

Yet Ed Wood redeemed his career. And people adored this little show that could.

Critical Reception:D100 => 57

But it wasn't going to win any awards. It wasn't going to get praise from the snobs.

But that didn't matter for Ed Wood. He was fine with finally making his name known. He wasn't a joke.
