God dam the league is stepping up there game. I don't trust Talia I feel she is just using us to destabilize the league so she can take control. when it comes to Carol I do not see a reason to use the pheromone spray. After all she already feels grateful toward us. Once again I do not think it is a good idea to tell Lois what we know, at most we should give an edited version of what we know

Let's use this opportunity and work with the police to build a robot army to patrol Metropolis. The people of Metropolis will see Lex as their champion.

[ ] Fortify Metropolis
DC 18
Roll 91 + 19 (Mercy Martial stat) + 20 (reroll bonus) + 19 -156 (League of Shadows attack on the city with rerolls factored in)
Total -7
Significant Failure

You knew that the League of Shadows probing assassination attempts were building up to a much larger scale attack. Still you had underestimated the sheer scope of the attack. The police were utterly unable to deal with a sudden rash of mass bombings throughout the city. The defenses you built were torn down by infiltrators and ninjas placed at key positions as the League ran rampant throughout your city. Mercy was eventually able to discover that the whole campaign was a distraction so they could draw out your security forces to make assassinating you more feasible. As such the plan failed but it was cold comfort to you when your city had begun burning because some narrow minded fanatics wanted to distract you. A large swarthy man named Ubu then delivered an ultimatum that you would be killed or he would have his forces escalate even further. You will make the League pay for what they did to your city. No one threatens Lex Luthor and gets away with it. This war is far from over and now you are genuinely anger. They will all burn for what they did to your city.

Results: 137 LexCorp security forces killed. Large swathes of Metropolis destroyed. LexCorp unharmed. US government is now involved in the fight. Lois Lane requests information on Ra's since she was in danger anyways. League of Shadows is now only one successful interference away from becoming a nemesis.
It is on now, you son of bitch. No one attacks Luthor's property city and people and gets away with it.

King, will the party happen before or after the bombings?

[ ] [reveal] Reveal a highly edited version of what you know about Ra's al Ghul to Lois Lane

[ ] [Spray] Don't use the pheromone spray

[ ] [Talia] Work regularly with Talia but don't let her in your inner circle

With the failures this turn, we need to play it safe, but we also need to take action, I think this is a happy medium, personally.

I suppose now it's time to debut Lex as a hero. We have an an armor, we can turn it into an exosuit, we can build a robot army. Let's do it.

So I know we don't do plans doing the action phase but I got an unofficial one I call AMERCIA F#@K YEAH
build a Exosuit
replenish our troops
Arm them we the best and weapons armor we got
Invade Nada parbat with Lex and Mercy leading the charge
Profit

also possibly get the government involved now that the League are nationally known terrorists, thoughts?

[ ] [Spray] Use the pheromone spray
[ ] [Spray] Don't use the pheromone spray

So its late here, but can we all agree Lex doesn't require a spray.

Like we rolled well, and he can earnestly say something like," Ms. Ferris, I noticed and purchased this company in order to get a skilled group with different experience than what LexCorp poses. I believe your people have the potential to achieve basic space flight vessels."

Friendly reminder, it might have been lost in all the text but ??? is not Talia. Meaning even if you defeat the League next turn someone is still out there and they have manipulated you for their own nefarious ends.

so, exo suit, power armor, iron man debut, send out troops to replace police, crack down on crime, and refortify city again?

Although I will acknowledge that Luthor is very egotistical, I find it hard to believe that he'd harrie (sp?) off to find recompense without goading. (i.e. Lois, Clark/Superman) So, the questers crying havoc and demanding to let loose the dogs of war on Parbat (sp?) is very OoC for Lex.

not invade, but kick out current forces from city

well considering that the league has been attacking Lex for almost a year i would think Lex would be P.O also it said one more successful attack would make them a nemesis. that would put them at superman levels of annoying Lex

An organization blows up a large part of his city, repeatedly tries to kill him, and then says that if Luthor doesn't capitulate to their demands they will escalate further. I think the League has sufficiently earned Lex's ire.

It doesn't put them at Superman levels of hate but it does mean Lex has grown to hate them and thinks the world would be better off without them.

@King crimson write in option? ICBM stealth tech, the creation of a single undetectable missile packed with enough explosives to remove the base of operations of your irritant foes without being detected or seen launched from Lex Corp. (noise cancellers, anti radar, camouflage etc)

thinking on this, I think the guy calling out for the escalation is the one starting this bullshit...makes sense the "Loyal" lieutenant gets annoyed from the current order of business and goes off doing stupid shit.

plus this allows this to fuck over the dumbassery….and if the we catch the one who manipulated these events...the league of shadows has to make a VERY big payment to us or be WIPED from the map...down the very last cell as terrorists.

not invade, but kick out current forces from city
While you weren't suggesting that, unless I really misread some other posts, other posters were. Also, it'd take roughly an undersized army to push out the "invaders."

Their attacking us is largely an annoyance. It's when they manage to stymie our own efforts that it angers us, and is such that it's one more success (against us) to our declaring them nemesis.

...

Then again, I'm apparently wrong in my interpretation of intent.

Furthermore, not taking public actions against this shows that we are weak publicly.

If we can go out, fight, and win, not only do we prove we're capable of handling threats, but we justify our so called 'paranoia' to the public and become a trusted figure.
