Reasonings:
-----------------------

Improve Wards DC 19: Lex, Jinx, Rebecca, Cassandra
This makes sense for several reasons:
1. Possible Lex magic
2. Wards are really really useful as shown with bad intent wards and great at defense
3. Rebecca's at .9 so we get an extra action
4. Possibly helping Jinx to tame her magic and get her an awesome trait

And with this we're basically guaranteed a crit with +80

[] Learn about physics DC 43: Mahween
She specializes in it, and it should give great rewards like teleportation and other sci-fi tech

Biology DC 54: Moon, Helfern
It's what they're good at and more Biology work can't hurt. The +36 helps alot

Kryptonite Man - Mari, Roxanne
He's a good hero to recruit...made of kryptonite, our literal product. And they have a good co-op and diplo scores.

Exosuits - Rose
She has the trait to essentially make this a success.
And exosuits need to start being developed.

equip forces with weapons - Kane
Weapons need to be used so...

Improve PMC - Leonard Snart/Mick Rory
Basically make the Rogues for them.

Learn about Engineering DC 18 - Felicity
She has a guaranteed success and engineering's always important in tech

Purchase Stock - Lucy Lane
She's our lawyer so it makes all the sense, and we want to have absolute control over Star Labs

Learn about genetics - Isley
She's fairly intelligent and this is an important step to things like...giving superpowers

Cold Engine ??? - Lincoln, Snow
They requested it and add bonuses

Investigate Vanishing Lex Phone DC 36 - Lisa Snart
She has decent intrigue, and knowing about Flash is good. Bonus points for he rbeing a rogue

Locate T.O. Morrow DC 40 - Marie Dahl
A super scientist, and Marie's good at intrigue

Holograms - Scudder
Mirror Master and Holograms? It writes itself

School - Draper, Mercy
Let's do well on this one. Mercy can be like his enforcer.

Alan Morris
Invisible Suit and low DC, no losses

Meet with Saied Kadesh
Low DC, BA is a very powerful ally.

I really think we should do Fortify Metropolis, mainly because Superman is making his debut this turn. So might as well limit his initial impact, and Metropolis getting wrecked doesn't really benefit us anyways.

Your brother should get a credit freeze on all three agencies.

Because the Equifax hack basically leaked data of about a third to half the whole country if your brother lives in the USA. I think the UK was also affected somewhat?
The credit freeze has been done. I just had to go and repeatedly help him fill out forms and check for errors which was time consuming.

Meena is now knowledgeable in psychiatry. Also, when we hired psychologists, they did not help the situation. In fact, our psychologist had to be drugged.
But she is not interested in psychology we hired Meena to research hard sciences not psychology and if we continue to force her to research psychology she may just quit.

Okay my votes is to get a giant recruitment drive to fill up some missing positions. As well as take advantage of our recently acquired opportunities.

[x] Meet with Veronica Cale
[x] Recruit skilled doctors
[x] Recruit competent assistants
[x] Recruit more programmers
[x] Recruit Managers and Executives
[x] Recruit a Head for Future Construction
[x] Make a public showing of regret over the events of Lexpo
[x] Hire a private investigator
[x] Build a particle collider for Meena Dhawan
[x] Locate Intergang
[x] Learn about magic
[x] Develop a Cold Engine

Okay so I think this is what we should do this turn is recruit more competent managers and executives as well as a head for future construction as we are woefully lacking in stewardship heroes.
The problem is that that's a Diplomacy action, and we're... a bit short on Diplomacy heroes too. Especially if we reserve Lex for a "teach Cass" action.

And research psychiatry to deal with our increasingly unstable employees.
I'm not sure that's going to be a fast or easy solution. We might have to invest a dozen actions for the "roll to see what research options you get" to help us usefully. Our problem employees have very specific problems and general research doesn't automatically solve them.

We would need Roxy for this as Step 1 if we want to get a good therapist.
There is probably more than one good therapist in the DCQU.

Now, I was thinking about action options starting here... Based broadly on that:

[X] Train up LexCorp forces
[X] Equip your forces with improved weapons
[X] Begin development of combat exosuit
[X] Tighten security
[X] Fortify Metropolis

[X] Meet with Lucy Lane to talk about her family
[X] Meet with Saied Kadesh
[X] Make a public showing of regret over the events of Lexpo
[x] Recruit Managers and Executives

[X] Build a school for metahuman youth
[X] Build living quarters for Jinx
[X] Contribute resources to the analysis of superhuman powers
[X] Begin producing hologram technology

[X] Locate Intergang
[X] Upgrade the surveillance system in LexCorp
[X] Kidnap a member of Intergang

[] Research botany
[X] Improve wards
[X] Develop a Cold Engine
[X] Learn about military strategy
[X] Consult on Project S.T.R.I.P.E.
[X] Improve augmentations

@King crimson , is "locate Intergang" an acceptable Nygma action?

[X] [Comp] Analyze Kryptonite

Maybe rather than researching military technology we can research that particle collider Meena wants?

Remember it has to be in all three agencies and to make sure is an actual credit freeze instead of credit monitoring.
Been done already. Thanks for the advice but I spent 5+ hours making sure I was doing things right on top of other people doing literal days of research. I'm fairly certain things are handled.
@King crimson , is "locate Intergang" an acceptable Nygma action?
Yes it is

Meena is now knowledgeable in psychiatry. Also, when we hired psychologists, they did not help the situation. In fact, our psychologist had to be drugged.
As Reader points out, Meena isn't going to be interested in studying psychology full time, and just taking the action once isn't going to reliably give us cures for someone like Dr. Moon or even Dr. Helfern. What we should really do is hire a better psychiatrist, or rather one better suited to our purposes, who won't freak out on us like Dr. Parker did.

My concern is that if we scattershot a whole bunch of recruitment actions, we're going to get candidates that are weak, or that have serious drawbacks.

Maybe rather than researching military technology we can research that particle collider Meena wants?
Trouble is, if Meena alone works on the accelerator, well, she's Stewardship 8 and it's DC 36. I'd want to team up another Stewardship hero unit with her, but those are also kind of tight this turn. Hopefully we can get the metahuman school done; that's locking down a couple of Stewardship heroes each turn and it's an obligation to DOMA, who we really do NOT want to piss off since right now they're sitting on a bunch of metahuman kids and have no decent place to put them.

Which is why recruiting managers and executives as well as the head of our construction company should be top priority we have too many things that need building and too few people to manage them.

Just a reminder Nygma is pissy about that copy cat, should we try and do it this turn or set on something else and hope he doesn't ditch the action.

First, there is nothing that suggests at this point that Meena doesn't want to research psychology or that she is sick of it. Indeed, she now has a good grounding on it and is going to get a substantial DC decrease if she takes learn psychology. ( @King crimson What is Meena's Learn Psychology DC affect?)

Second, if you look at the DCAU, there really hasn't been many examples of successful psychiatric treatment other than Arnold Wesker. Not saying we shouldn't hire a better psychiatrist: we should. We should do both, actually: hire a better psychiatrist and research super-psychology not only in order to deal with our many employee issues, but also in order to improve all of our businesses. I am, however, saying that it doesn't look promising to rely on a better psychiatrist from prevent Killer Frost from messing things up or Dr. Helfern from going insane.

No see, my idea is that we hire a better psychiatrist and then use THEM to research better psychiatry. That way, our physicists, botanists, and so on aren't stuck taking time out to work on an unrelated field we'd want to hire a specialist for anyway.

Which is why recruiting managers and executives as well as the head of our construction company should be top priority we have too many things that need building and too few people to manage them.
Hmm. That's a fair point. The trouble is that the DC on the Diplomacy is so goddamn high... hmm.

So. Basically, I'm planning to concentrate several Martial actions around upgrading our security forces and deploying our (IMO already pretty good and worth deploying) exosuit tech. This also takes advantage of the fact that various people have acted to boost Mari and Roxy's Martial scores up to truly stratospheric levels, which makes them obvious choices to blow the fucking doors off these actions and succeed handily.

On further reflection I should consider swapping the "Lucy Lane" action for something else, but I figure it's not a bad choice; it's likely to increase Lucy's loyalty, may give us useful intel on what Lois Lane is up to, and she's got to be under stress from dealing with her father's bullshit so this is an UNUSUALLY good time to take the action.

Meeting with Saied Kadesh is to some extent metagaming, but since we just nearly got brainsucked by a goddamn Captain Marvel villain, I'd like to start becoming at least tangentially aware of Captain Marvel's stuff.

We... kind of seem stuck building the metahuman school- it may be best to finish that job off once and for all next turn with a super-collaboration, but we really should at least try.

Intergang-facing intel is in my list because we have largely ignored them for several turns and have indications they're tooling up for something big. Being prepared, even in the sense of learning a few days in advance that oh no they are going to come gank us with giant robots, would be nice.

MOST of the research actions are low pressure. Improving augmentations gives Moon something to do. Consulting on Project S.T.R.I.P.E. gives Helfern and/or someone else who can work with him without encouraging his worst traits something to do that doesn't involve torturing animals or being around Dr. Moon, who's a bad influence on him. Studying military strategy is something we've been meaning to do for a long time. Improving wards is something @KnowledgeKing will boil me in oil if we don't take.

And the Cold Engine... hell, I just want to know what the DC is. It could be a toughie, but Drs. Snow and Lincoln are a very strong team on that action and we have a decent chance of critting it just with the two of them.

I do want to know what people think about my ideas.

(EDIT: I'm sold on recruiting managers and executives, but it's a tough Diplomacy project, so we probably should throw something like Pamela+Oswald at it. Without Dr. Isley on botany it's pointless so I removed it)

Fair enough. As long as we do it soon: we have a bunch of ticking time bombs and we've already had a few small blow-ups.

As to our research: Why not have Learn Physics for Meena.

And, did you consider the plan with a hero allocation in mind already?

I mostly agree with you, the only things I would really suggest changing are:

1) Not talking with Lucy about her family, since that isn't really that important right now, and instead recruiting that psychic actress to give us a better idea of what to look out for
2) Maybe not working on the Metahuman school this turn since even if we have Felicia and Carol work on I think like you suggested a while back they're still fairly likely to fail and we'd be better off having them guarantee, or close to it, the success of other actions
3) Replace "Locate Intergang" with "Locate Bruno" since we know he's up to something and need to find him asap
4) Doing the disappearing Lexphone and gathering Whales equipment actions rather than the monitoring and kidnapping ones
5) Researching the Gingo Fruit rather than just Botany

By the way @King crimson didn't we already do the action to investigate the fallout if the Antimatter explosion? Also what do the Risk Assessment Firms we bought last turn actually do?

@King crimson What is Meena's Learn Psychology DC affect?
Zero. She'll just get better rewards (she's shifted up by two points in the rewards table I have for taking the action).
Second, if you look at the DCAU, there really hasn't been many examples of successful psychiatric treatment other than Arnold Wesker.
A bunch of Flash rogues including Heatwave have been well treated by psychiatrists and became productive members of society. Claire Foster treated superheroes well. Harold Knopf successfully treated his patients (albeit not for supervillainy). Simon LaGrieve helped people recover from their depression and become productive members of society (albeit in a way he later regretted as he blamed himself for the creation of the Suicide Squad).

It's not accurate to say there aren't any successful psychiatric treatments but instead it's more accurate to say that supervillainy is something that psychiatry rarely helps with.
By the way @King crimson didn't we already do the action to investigate the fallout if the Antimatter explosion? Also what do the Risk Assessment Firms we bought last turn actually do?
Knew I missed something I'll be deleting it now.

The Risk Assessment firms will give you more information on things and every turn will give you a look into various markets and how things are looking on that end (they give you a bunch of information for the next turn). For example this turn it could let you know that instability is occurring in China, housing prices are falling in Gotham, the value of gold is down and Wayne Enterprises is preparing a big reveal soon and its stocks are climbing (this is just n example not what you will actually be informed of next turn). There'll be some more flavor and depth to each statement but I hope that gives you the general gist of what they do. If not please let me know and I'll do my best to clarify.
