Samuel + Mercy Co-Op is good. We have them clean house:-

[ ] Investigate inside the company
DC 45 You can never be too paranoid. Investigating inside the company would let you root out spies and figure out if anyone is siphoning money away from where it is supposed to go

There's bound to be new spies. Let's put his experties on camera blind spots to use.
Hmm. Samuel-Mercy co-op is actually only 0.7, but the nice thing about Mercy is that she's effective working as a subordinate even with people she doesn't get along with that well, because of her bonus. She's Intrigue 16 to Samuel's 17, so she'll be the subordinate (barely) for a combined bonus of

17 + 16*0.7 + 10 = 17 + 11 + 10 = +38 on the die roll. Which is probably good enough to catch our spies.

Samuel + Mercy + Marie would give an additional +18 to the stack for a +56 on the die roll (assured success on many Intrigue actions). Marie and Mercy not getting along may complicate matters but at least they don't have actively negative co-op like Marie and Lisa.

Samuel + Marie work together well so:-

[ ] Sell Universal Translators
DC 31 (DC 12 if Marie is assigned) The new Lexicon has gotten a good amount of press and is a quality product you believe will revolutionize the world. Now you just need to make sure that everyone else understands just what you have created. Putting the LexCorp PR machine to work selling these could end up making them nearly as popular as the L-Phones.
Hm yeah, that would work. Neither is a high-stat hero, but 12 + 1.2*7 gives a +21 on the die roll- assured success.

Alternatively, have the Snart Siblings do:-

[ ] Hire Ex-Cons
DC 11 Oftentimes people who are caught breaking the law are utterly unable to get work. This would make them extremely devoted to you if you were to offer them jobs at LexCorp since it would beat every other option they have. On top of that hiring ex-cons may give you good PR and change societal views on certain crimes. Sounds like a win-win-win to you. And you like winning. (Note if this option is selected a sub-vote on the type of ex-con's you hire will occur).
Hm. That's a Stewardship action. Lisa has Stewardship 7 and 1.5 co-op with Samuel, Leonard has Stewardship 8 and 1.3 co-op with Samuel. Samuel himself has Stewardship 12 and could solo the action with assured success, so it'd make more sense to do a Samuel-Leonard or Samuel-Lisa co-op.

(Samuel-Lisa Stewardship actions are rolled at a +23 on the die roll, and Samuel-Leonard actions also at +23. The higher co-op score offsets the lower Stewardship for Lisa)

We get Heat Wave faster so we can put Captain Cold + Heat Wave + Mirror Master on Learning actions for Cehmistry, Physics & Engineering. All 3 should have high Co-Op scores even if their official Learning stats are garbage, their Traits should mutually support each other on all 3 subjects.
Maaybe.

We may get a specific action to hire Heat Wave in future.

Oa Interlude: Dead Ends and Defiance
So I ended up managing to get this out now. Stuff has ended up getting delayed a bit. I do hope people enjoy this update. It's not as long as the other one but it foreshadows a good few coming messes coming the Green Lantern Corps' way. I kind of wanted to introduce Von Daggle but I figured I'd wait a tiny bit longer before introducing my second favorite green lantern. As always feel free to ask questions and attempt to predict how things are going to play out using the newly revealed information.

Oa Interlude: Dead Ends and Defiance
Ganthet
Ganthet held very mixed feelings on Hal Jordan. On the one hand he was a brave and noble individual who had helped uncover the depths of Sinestro's treachery. On the other hand he was rash and impertinent with a fondness for disobeying orders and an inability to always see the big picture.

Ganthet advocated letting him take a break. Hal Jordan was a relatively new Green Lantern and while he was the successor to Abin Sur and had already done some great things, he was not Abin Sur. Expecting him to live up to the legacy of one of the Green Lanterns of all time was ridiculous. Other Guardians did not see it that way but through his arguments Ganthet had eventually brought them around. Hal Jordan was allowed to take a break and return back to Earth, so long as he didn't interfere in the development of the planet.

Besides there was another reason why Hal should be allowed to return to earth. Recent searches had revealed that something from Zamaron was headed towards earth. Ganthet wasn't sure what was going on but he figured having a Green Lantern on the planet while also giving Hal the break he desired so much would be best. He'd take care of multiple things at once.

The universe was a busy place. Qward had recently gone dark and while Ganthet had no love for the weaponers of that planet he still wanted to know what could bring them all to heel. The envoy to Agent Orange had been murdered recently which confirmed that he was still on Okaara but it didn't confirm anything Atrocitus had claimed about this so called "War of Light". And worst of all Sinestro's whereabouts had still not been pinned down.

Ganthet still was confident that the Green Lantern Corps could meet the challenges the universe would throw at them.

Larvox
Larvox was on Oa to attempt to speak with Atrocitus about his terrorist organization the Five Inversions. The Five Inversions had not slowed down at all even with their leader captured. They still attacked and wiped out entire populations before slinking away faster than a Green Lantern could arrive to apprehend them. Larvox was there to talk to Atrocitus to figure out what he was planning. Unfortunately he couldn't get anything. Every query and question he made was countered by Atrocitus' cruel gleaming smile. The prisoner didn't move or respond and merely grinned at Larvox. Larvox left in a huff. Atrocitus and the Five Inversions had killed Abin Sur and apparently it was all a part of some greater scheme of theirs involving a "War of Light". Maybe someone else could figure out what Atrocitus and his lackeys were planning because Larvox wasn't making any headway.

Cimfet Tau
Cimfet Tau was exhausted. He was completely and utterly drained. He was the only survivor of the mission to kill the mad god of Sector 3600. The creature was no god but that was a cold comfort to those killed by the eldritch abomination. Worst of all the creature had not been what he was sent to look for. While deadly and dangerous and in need of being put down it was not intelligent enough to plan and certainly not enough to be trying to bring down the Green Lantern Corps. What had become clear was that some entity had been harvesting chunks of the creature for its ability to devour emotional spectrum energy.

Cimfet Tau shuddered to think of what villain would regularly make use of that monster and survive repeated encounters with it. For now he would be allowed to rest and grieve but soon he would have to head back out and continue his investigation.

Jack T. Chance
While if the Guardians were willing to bring old Jackie out to play then they were well and truly borked. The Guardians didn't even want Jack to be a member of their corps but since only he could bring some semblance of law and order to his home planet the good old blue gnome leadership council let him do his job. Granted he was told to stay on his home planet and let his partner patrol the rest of the sector but that suited Jack just fine as he was always down for a scrap.

So the fact that the wrinkly blue blinkers had gone and called Jack for a job off planet meant that something big was going down. And so Jack was sent out to fight the last Czarnian and take him in for questioning. The fight was long and Jack nearly got dismembered more times than he could count and the Czarnian got away, albiet not before Jack got confirmation that the criminal had no intention of taking on the Green Lantern Corps.

And so Jack had to go and give his report. Reports were for losers and skags, Jack was a man of action. Frankly he'd much rather it if the Guardians let him get back to work or gave him another suicide mission to not die on.

Green Man
The Green Man was unhappy. Boodikka was acting oddly. Green Man didn't like it. Boodikka had always been violent but now she seemed especially sadistic. Green Man knew that she took Sinestro's betrayal hard but Green Man didn't like seeing it warp her like this. Green Man would have to report this to the Guardians if this kept up. Green Man didn't want to do that. It felt like betraying a friend.

So Green Man stayed quiet. Soon this crisis would end and things would return to normal. There would be peace. Boodikka would no longer be cruel and venomous towards Hal Jordan. Green Man could be happy. Green Man just had to make it through this trial. Green Man was good at that. Green Man could overcome that. Green Man's will would not break.

Ch'P
Ch'P was a bit disappointed. Apparently Hal was going back home on a break again. That was always rather sad to here but Ch'P hoped his friend would be able to get over the troubles that had recently been plaguing him when he got back home. Besides he and Arisa could always visit Hal should worse come to worst. Sure the Guardians might yell at him a bit and they'd get mad but Hal had shown that the Guardians were not infallible since they let the whole Sinestro situation develop right under them. The Guardians were so far removed from the Corpsmen on the ground that they couldn't judge things.

Plus their whole mandate on non-interference was kind of dumb anyways. Ch'P was going to be more like Hal and be brave like he always wanted to be, remaining unshakeable in the face of fear. Heck, maybe he'd finally get the courage to stare down Katma Tui (that lady was scary).

I've updated the character sheet. Next up should be the update. Then I'll work on getting the Abra interlude up then the post-humanist and birthday lists will be updated and then I'll see if I have time to get Atlantis done.

Interlude: Dark Dealings
So this one is out. There will be another interlude after this one next (which should give a better read on the Snart siblings and Scudder as well as a response from Tobias and a brief bit about the movie (the full on movie review will go in sidestories). Then we get back to our regularly scheduled program. Hope you all enjoy this bit. There are a good few easter eggs in this update and I'm curious just what people will find (I worked like three Camus quotes into the Unknown Individuals section for example). I apologize for the schedule slip and I intend to keep delivering content every day even if it might get a little more spread out then I would like (The Death of Abin Sur interlude that was purchased will take at least three days before I get around to it). As such this interlude might have been a little shorter than I would have liked but I feel it gives you a lot of relevant information and I don't want to just infodump you to death or spend so long trying to make one big entry that it is all delayed for tomorrow when I'd need to do a second interlude anyways.

Interlude: Dark Dealings
Bane
Bane loved war. In combat you learned the true measure of what a man was. You got to test your might against the world and prove yourself victorious. And oh what a glorious war this was. As a boy Bane had often dreamed of the outside world but seeing it in all its full color and glory was incredible. And the Americans were letting him do whatever he wanted so long as he didn't attack their men. Bane saw no reason to do so. After all the real prizes lay in the men allied with the Santa Priscan government, Intergang.

Intergang was a wealth of opportunities from the new and improved version of Venom to laser cannons to their fantastical shields they were an opportunity ripe for the picking. And Bane intended to use it to its fullest. He'd gather strength and troops in Santa Prisca, honing their edge in this war before bringing his full might to bear against the Batman. Once his strength was great enough and Bane had honed himself into the weapon he always could be, then Bane would complete his destiny.

He would travel to Gotham and break the Bat in his own land declaring himself king of all he saw and leaving his strength at the unchallenged peak. It would be years before it came to fruition but that long awaited victory would taste all the sweeter for the waiting.

So when Bane was approached by an American offering a deal of some kind he listened. After all one should make use of every opportunity given to them. The wiry little man wasn't a soldier for the United States, the symbols he wore were unfamiliar to Bane so he figured he was from a PMC of some kind. Trogg had told him that PMC's were opportunists at heart but that they often lacked an ideology and would instead usually be sent on another's behalf. So Bane wondered who was pulling this mans strings. The small little man spoke in surprisingly clear Spanish. He wanted to offer Bane a deal. If Bane and his men were willing to work as deniable assets for the military then they would be given better equipment and secret support. Furthermore Bane and a few of his men who he felt were most skilled could have a future working for LexCorp.

Bane laughed. One deal was good and the other was not. Bane agreed to be willing to work as a deniable asset for whoever the man's masters really were. However he refused to give up anything that was his. All of his men were his and he would not leave them for some pipe dream working for an American tycoon. Bane had his own destiny to claim. He would not refuse to work with LexCorp but he would never subordinate himself to another especially at the cost of his own power.

The man looked unhappy with this exchange but left anyways. Bane supposed he'd get a response soon and he'd figure out whether this was an opportunity to gain an ally or an opportunity to test his might against a previously unknown foe. Either way Bane would come out of this conflict stronger than he was before.

The Unknown Individual
It was dark and damp in this new hiding place. While the art in Lascaux always had a sort of raw primitiveness to it he always felt it drew on those strongest of human emotions, that most primal core of humanity which they all shared. He greatly preferred this base to the one he held in Paris despite his comrades own opinions.

"Are you sure this is the right path?" His closest companion enquired. He would not deny his friend his curiosity.

"Of course I am. Those who lack courage can always find a philosophy to justify it. There is no point worrying about it, I have accounted for every possibility." He responded

"Like all your other plans have worked out?" The legacy member asked. She was still new to the group trying to find her way and prove that she was more than her mother. He would allow her this impertinence.

"I've never lost" he responded "been stalled repelled and more. All human actions are equivalent... and therefore by that same principle doomed to failure, but we are no longer a collection of anything as significant as mere humans."

"We never were" His closest companion responded.

"We could spend ages debating the exact philosophy of that statement but as much as I would love to quibble the finer points of Camus, Satre, Beauvoire Foucault and more it is irrelevant to the heart of the matter" He began "The alien is in position, the good general has recovered his forces from the last time we were scattered to the wind, and we three while outcasts from society are far more powerful than any individual who clings to the tenants of normality"

"Fair enough" The legacy member responded. His closest companion merely nodded in response. Good he had maintained their faith. He would prove deserving of it. His breakthroughs were utterly unparalleled and telephone lines held oh so much more potential than people realized."

"Take heart my friends" he called out "all revolutionaries eventually become tyrants, we are merely preempting the cycle and striking first"

Everything was going according to plan and if not he could swiftly move through his counterplans. His enemies would not be able to stop him this time.

Whale's Response subvote
Tobias Whale has categorically refused to meet with any of your employees as he does not trust them at all. The deal you have offered is too good to be true that there has to be a catch. Furthermore meeting in public aids you not him since you can more easily shape public opinion and perception than him. Furthermore a park has too many places to hide a sniper in for him to trust you. He wants you to personally agree to a permanent truce since anything else is worthless since you could probably work around it. As such he has demanded that you agree to the following terms or he will reveal what he has on you. To show he is being serious Whale reveals another piece of information. Whale has evidence of the way you use your phone network to spy on people. You are quite wary of if he has even more information. This has become a dangerous situation indeed. Please vote for your favorite option from the list below. Write-ins are acceptable but all write-ins are subject to QM approval. There is a 1 hour moratorium on voting.

[ ] [Whale] Accept Whale's deal and give him proof that you personally are calling off the assassin
[ ] [Whale] Refuse Whale's deal and do not give any proof as if he releases the information he has nothing is keeping Whale safe anymore
[ ] [Whale] Refuse Whale's deal and have Lady Vic continue to attempt to assassinate him

Well played Mr Whale. Well played, i will admit i am intensely curious as to how he got the evidence on the spy tap on the L-Phone.

Let's just use the spray on him
We would need to actually meet him to do that

I doubt he wants to get so close to us at any rate. If i where him id be scurrying off into the furthest hole from Metropolis i could find and disappearing into it.

Either of this 2. He's playing chicken. We have lawyers, he only has 1 life.

Citizen Abra Interlude: Warriors from Forever
So this was immensely tricky to write. It is an introduction piece to who Abra is and details some stuff he has already done or will do. Things will be explained in more detail later. I did jump into the middle of his stories but I think in media res works better for the narrative going on here especially with the nature of time travel. I hope all the conversations and ideas make sense since I was basically writing a semi-crazy person who has met himself and travels through time which is bound to make tenses and such screwy as all hell. The next update to this line of interludes will show Flash fighting the individuals Abra has assembled, and will set up for a few more things as well. I'll include a timeline in the informational section for how the Flash perceives his meetings with Abra and vice versa if this series of omakes goes on as I think it is quite interesting. I also had to be immensely careful not to set anything in stone for the future but I think I did a good job of that. Enjoy.

Citizen Abra Interlude: Warriors from Forever
Citizen Abra
Oh, Abra hated the Flash. He hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hated the Flash. He always showed up to ruin his schemes. Okay admittedly most of his schemes but still. Abra tries to steal Superman's cape from the Watchtower and who should stop him but the Flash. Abra goes to the future to try to make off with some hyper-advanced tech to sell to Lex Luthor to help him make some more of his revolutionary tech and he gets stopped by the Flash. He tries to steal the Sword of Beowulf before it is revealed that it was replaced with a fake the Flash foils him. He even goes as far back in time to the age of the dinosaurs to steal one to auction when who should stop him but the Flash. Over and over again the Flash gets in his way, not always but certainly enough to be annoying as he foiled all of his biggest and most elaborate plans. Oh, the Flash was the absolute worst.

But this time Abra had a plan. See in his last heist he had teamed up with a future version of himself to steal a diamond. His future self had known that the heist would succeed because he had already done it. Therefore Abra had followed his future self's instructions and acted as a distraction for the Flash. The plan had worked and future Abra had gotten away with his crime.

As Abra pondered his next scheme while purchasing an original model Lex-Phone to sell as a collectors item in the future this previous plan had inspired him. See Abra didn't know the Flash's timeline. See he knew that the Flash would stop him in the future but he didn't know when the Flash would travel through time to stop him. Therefore it was possible that the Flash had already finished all of his time traveling when Abra would next encounter him and thus he could be killed. Abra wasn't an expert on this period of time but he could mess around with the dates enough to get close enough. Plus even though killing the Flash wouldn't necessarily prevent him from interfering in the future it would be satisfying to Abra and it would provide with a distraction so he could carry out his heists while minimizing the Flash's interference.

So Citizen Abra set about to collecting individuals from throughout history whom he could arm with advanced tech and have them fight the Flash for him. He pulled Bors from the sixth century and convinced him that the Flash was a demon who would threaten the whole world before arming him with a new armor and sword from the future. He pulled Jon the Viking Prince from the tenth century and told him that the Flash was a worthy foe with whom combat would earn him a way into Valhalla before arming him with more advanced technology as well. He got Blackbeard from the 18th century by promising him riches and then pulled Jonah Hex from the next century and promises him the same. He pulls the Enemy Ace from World War 2 and gives him a spaceship to pilot and promises that he'll ensure his country gets glory if he succeeds in doing so. He then pulled Shriek and Inque from the future and promised them a cure to their afflictions.

His troops were now ready and willing to take on the Flash. He'd use them all as a distraction and in the chaos steal the cosmic treadmill. This plan was simple and effective. If everything ligned up then maybe Abra would get to be responsible and that would make him a happy man indeed. Abra had no time to waste and so with a wave of his wand and a dramatic flourish he set his plan into motion.

@King crimson what exactly is Tobias evidence that we tap our phones?
Recordings of an archive of logged calls, photos of said archives and written testimonials from individuals who were in your company at one time but were later fired. That is only what he has shown you so far that he has as evidence. It isn't airtight but it is good enough that people could start getting curious and looking into your stuff and find out that Tobias was right (the public won't necessarily take Tobias' evidence as "the truth" but there is enough circumstantial evidence that it could warrant an investigation which would confirm that Tobias is not lying).

Most of Tobias' information that he is using to threaten you is not enough to get you imprisoned or hurt you on its own, but it is enough to set others on you and they will then cause you big problems. On top of that I can let you know that Tobias is also still hiding his trump card and that he has even more information on you that he gained from before you cleaned house and checked for rats in your own company.

And the vote is now open for you to participate in. I'm looking forward to how things will go down. There will be two more purchased omakes tomorrow and an update that should wrap up this turn.

The largest crimes I can think of before we cleaned house was the torture of the league agents and the murder of our father. Also I realized we never took the plug the leaks action which is gonna probably hurt us a bit.

We apparently have private ICBMs for some rather silly reason. Thaaaat's super illegal.

Either of this 2. He's playing chicken. We have lawyers, he only has 1 life.
He has the power to fuck us up from beyond the grave and every reason to be vengeful.

He also has multiple pieces of blackmail material and can release some of them without releasing others.

We don't actually have to kill him, you know. It's not a reliable way to neutralize his blackmail dossier, and that's the only threat he can credibly present to us. We're the ones who made an enemy of him, not the other way around. Obsessing over taking him down at cost to ourselves is a bad choice. We're just compounding the mindset that got us into this situation.

Let's kill another time when were more prepared and in a stronger position.

Will someone please explain to me why it's worth risking our good reputation (which will be hard to recover) to kill Tobias Whale? He hasn't even done anything to us other than try to blackmail us into letting him live.

Right now Lex is widely positively regarded. Credible rumors that we've been spying on people all over the world, or that we are involved in other more serious crimes, would destroy that. We'd have to waste a colossal amount of time and energy on damage control, just repairing the hits to our reputation. And all this will be blowing up in our faces right as Superman appears, leaving him very likely to view us as a big chunk of what's wrong with Metropolis.

It does not serve our interests to run this risk. The argument that if he releases the blackmail information there's no reason for us to not kill him is an equally good argument for just not killing him. Because then he'd be a fool to release the information. It is actively less likely to be revealed to the public that way.

Until and unless we find some way to mind-control him at a distance or otherwise neutralize his blackmail preparations, letting him live is safer and leaves us in a stronger position to keep expanding the company and confronting new challenges.

Well, lets use Bane as a Deniable Asset and use him till he breaks like Bito.

We provide Bito with funding and buy his Tech to reverse engineer, once done we have Lady Vic claim his bounty.

We chat with Count Vertigo. Since we already knows what he wants OOC, we send Bane after the Queen. Problem is how to kill him afterwards before he hits Gotham and Bats capture him.
