Guys I do not really feel that we should rely on a bare success to tell if kryptonite is safe or not also for the recruitment vote I am thinking captain cold and weather wizard are the best options.

@King crimson

Could you please require that only the vote for the guest stars be in plan format? All the other votes are entirely unrelated to the guest star choices, so there is no obvious reason why they should be locked into the same plan. We shouldn't be in a position where our decision about which Flash villains to hire is made for us because of our desire to cast a certain person in our TV shows, unless the Flash villain in question is herself the TV actor we want to cast.

So the problem here is fundamentally sufficient velocity's tallying system. It tends to only count the newest vote out there (I can get around it but it leads to other issues). Furthermore if I were to split the vote into two different styles then I would suffer from complications in which I'd have to tally the vote two separate ways while still checking for errors and having a lot of nonsense entries for both entries. Furthermore depending on how you space out your entries it could end up counting identical plan votes as different due to having different approval votes. If I were to not count only the newest vote then that would make it so that if you do not go back and edit your vote then it will still be counted and it could easily allow cheating (1 individual could vote for the same thing multiple times and it would be counted as multiple votes while only showing a single individual voted). As such there is a host of problems with having two different styles of voting in one update.

There are two solutions I can think of to this. The first is the one I took this time which is to just pick the format that works for both of them and use that. The second thing is that I can put them in separate entries (you'd only get to vote on guest stars after the next update). Does that explain the dichotomy I'm working with? If it is a major problem I could push back the guest star vote if there is enough demand for it and thus solve the problem that way.

The one thing I cannot do is run both an approval and plan vote at the same time as that swiftly gets to complicated and has too many points of failure. I can split it but it has some drawbacks to how things will play out and generates more work on my end (not an inconceivably large amount this time but enough so that I tend not to do it because there will be occasions in which there are multiple point votes and thus I'd need to include a lot of delay to not have them affect other votes).
Aww..Cant we hire all of them?
Eventually yes. Right now you only get 2 max.

Your Mission Should You Choose to Accept it subvote
General Eiling has come personally contacted you with a mission he would like you to take. A group of escapees from the Santa Priscan prison Pena Duro have begun engaging in open warfare with the previous government of Santa Prisca. Furthermore they have been exterminating whole towns in order to ensure that no member of Intergang is hiding there. General Eiling would like to have Serial Peacemaking meet with these ex-prisoners and potentially get them to work more effectively with the military and do the things that he cannot in an official position. Apparently this group has already recovered some of Intergang's technology and are using it to devastating effects. This is an opportunity for you to gain your own deniable assets or further Eiling's trust of you albiet at the risk of potentially getting implicated in some very dirty business if you get caught. Still an opportunity is an opportunity. Please select your favorite option from the list. Write-ins are possible but are subject to QM approval.

[ ] [Mission] Agree to the mission and attempt to recruit the Pena Duro escapees to work as deniable assets for the US military
[ ] [Mission] Agree to the mission and attempt to recruit the Pena Duro escapees to work as deniable assets for yourself
I'm torn on which of these to attempt, and interested in write-ins. I'm willing to hand over the Intergang tech to General Eiling (among other things because he's likely to ask for our help in analyzing it anyway), but I'm curious if Bane is among the escapees. He'd be good to have on payroll.

Snart's Suggestions subvote
Lisa Snart has upon getting hired has given more suggestions as to individuals who you could potentially hire. While many of these individuals have a checkered past you believe that you can make use of their skills and that they could prove quite the boon for you. Please select the two options you want the most from the list below.

[ ] [Hire] Hire Leonard Snart
Lisa Snart's older brother is an amateur physicist but is also a relatively talented one, with a good amount of success in messing around with cryo-technic devices. He hasn't invented anything truly revolutionary just yet but he certainly has a talent for it despite his complete lack of formal education. Leonard is also a criminal with a history of pulling off heists. He is a known ex-convict despite being let out recently for good behavior so there is some risk to hiring him.
Hm. Captain Cold is probably a good choice. Him being an ex-con is okay by me, he's a competent engineer, and we've probably missed the chance to hire Victor Fries (who'd be my first choice) anyway.

[ ] [Hire] Hire George Harkness
George "Digger" Harkness is an acquaintance of Lisa Snart. The man is foul mouthed offensive rude and crude but he is exceptionally talented at what he does. Harkness is arguably the greatest boomerang user in the whole world and has an amazing talent with them. Unfortunately boomerang skills do not tend to make ends meet so Harkness has taken to doing multiple odd jobs all at once. He is currently employed as a mascot for children's toys dubbed "Captain Boomerang" but is very resentful at having to take a job he finds humiliating. You could quite easily poach him for yourself if you have any need for a boomerang user.
I mean.

Why would we need a boomerang user.

He's probably good in a fight, but only good in a fight, and we have other ways to be good in a fight.

[ ] [Hire] Hire Mick Rory
Mick Rory is Leonard's partner in crime and is another ex-con. Mick is less cerebral than Leonard but was still able to build a variety of flamethrowers from junkyard materials. The man is talented even if he does suffer from a bit of pyromania and his criminal career prevents him from finding much employment elsewhere. He could potentially be a useful member of your security team.
Hm. Heat Wave. Could be interesting, but I dunno, he seems kind of interchangeable with other guys. MIGHT hire him.

[ ] [Hire] Hire Mark Mardon
Mark Mardon is a worker at a shipping company with a good amount of resentment and anger. However his brother, an ex-S.T.A.R. labs scientist, has been on the verge of a massive breakthrough and Mark has made numerous statements about how he would like to take that research and make something out of it. If you want to get at whatever secret his brother is hiding you could hire Mardon.
The relevant secret is probably weather control; this is Weather Wizard. Color me interested; a weather controller would be very useful.

[ ] [Hire] Hire James Jesse
James Jesse is a notorious circus performer in the Central City area. The man is famous for his feats of walking on thin air. Lisa has no idea how he does it but it could be something worthwhile for you to look into. There have been accusations of James being a con artist and engaging in illegal activities but nothing has been conclusively proven
Hm. We already have the Prankster, whose schtick is broadly similar. Not sure he's all that special.

[ ] [Hire] Hire Joe Monteleone
Joe Monteleone is the kid brother of Jack Monteleone, one of the biggest figures in organized crime in the Midwest. If you want to establish a relationship with the working class criminal of that area, which would be good for finding out more about the mysterious red blur in the area, Joe is likely to be your best bet even if he doesn't seem too useful on his own.
Interesting but I think we can take care of that ourselves, if we choose to bother.

[ ] [Hire] Hire Samuel Scudder
Lisa's ex-boyfriend who works at a mirror production plant and has begun experimenting with various types of materials. Samuel is an obstinate individual but is very talented and was occasionally brought on by Leonard to help him plan out all the angles of a heist. Samuel has a talent for being able to effectively map out the areas security camera's observe just by looking at the blueprints of a building.
Mirror Master. Interesting guy, probably smarter than people think.

[ ] [Hire] Hire Ramsey Rosso
A hemophiliac police technician with a talent for bloodwork. Ramsey is known to Lisa as an individual who managed to track down her brother and pin a crime to him. Ramsey is cold methodical and intelligent but also very antisocial.
Guy turns himself into a vampire using SCIENCE!. Not very interesting in my opinion. Plus we already have two antisocial asshole mad medical scientists, so I don't really want to hire a third.

[ ] [Hire] Hire Zoey Clark
Another amateur actress Lisa is passingly familiar with, Zoey Clark has a talent for prop comedy according to Lisa. She was mentioned to be a bit clingy and unstable and has restraining orders against her name by various men who she found herself infatuated with. Still if you can work past her downsides Zoey Clark is potentially a useful hire to add to your movie productions.
The Prankster's sidekick. Would rather stay away.

...

So my interesting choices are:
-Leonard Snart
-Samuel Scudder
-Mark Mardon
-Mick Rory

In rough descending order.

Sell Stock Subvote
There has been more interest in Ferris Aerospace then ever with its constant numerous successes. However right now it is under the LexCorp aegis entirely and thus is a private company. With the most recent success of the company questions have been raised on if the company should go public. While it would make you more money it could potentially leave you open to others interfering with your work even if you are sure you could still maintain the majority of stocks, you just aren't sure if you want to waste the effort.

[ ] [Stock] Go public and sell stocks
This option would make you a lot more money and would get outsiders more involved than ever in Ferris Aerospace but makes it possible to potentially undermine you

[ ] [Stock] Remain private
This will keep Ferris Aerospace firmly within your grasp but will not make as much money as it could and potential investors will not be available to be encountered.
I say we go public but only sell off, say, 40% of the stock. The rest stays with Lex... or goes to Carol Ferris, who I think has earned some consideration.

Keep or Scrap subvote
Rebecca Carstairs has successfully created a magic powered car, which you cannot effectively market or sell. However you could keep it for yourself as it has cutting edge capabilities not found in other cars. On the other hand you could break it down for parts to try and recuperate some more money. The choice is yours. Please pick your favorite option from the list below.

[ ] [KoS] Keep the car for yourself
[ ] [KoS] Keep the car as a gift to someone else (specify who you want to gift it to)
[ ] [KoS] Scrap the car to get back some more money
[] Keep the car as a gift to Rebecca.

Naming the Car subvote
If you do choose to keep the car you need to give this experimental prototype a name. Please pick an option from the list below. Write-ins are acceptable for this vote but all write-ins are subject to QM approval.

[ ] [Car] Hellblazer
[ ] [Car] Model 666
[ ] [Car] Chariot
[ ] [Car] Helios
[ ] [Car] Write-in
Hellblazer. Definitely.

Down with the Ship subvote
Lady Vic's attempt on Tobias Whale's life has left him reeling and the man has fled Metropolis. In his desperation Whale has sent you a threat through several proxies. If you do not call off the assassin that is being paid to kill him then he will do everything in his power to cause you problems and ensure that you cannot focus on killing him. He then showed you that he had a vocal recording of the conversation Pamela had with him. He claims to have even more devastating information available as well as contingencies in the case of his death and that if you do not stop hunting him or he dies, Tobias Whale will reveal it to the world at large. Tobias refuses to meet with any of your representatives as he believes it could be a trap and that their word is worth nothing but he has sent you a burner phone to confirm the arrangement. You aren't sure quite how dangerous Whale's information actually is and that is perhaps the most concerning thing of all. Please select your favorite option from the list below. Write-ins are acceptable for this vote but all write-in's are subject to QM approval.

[ ] [Capsize] Call off Lady Vic and abandon the attempt at killing Tobias Whale in exchange for Whale never setting foot in Metropolis again
[ ] [Capsize] Call off Lady Vic and abandon the attempt at killing Tobias Whale in exchange for him handing over all the information he has
[ ] [Capsize] Only agree to call off Lady Vic if Tobias Whale will meet with a representative in person
[ ] [Capsize] Refuse to give in to Whale's threats and have Lady Vic keep hunting him
[ ] [Capsize] Write-in
Hm. Toughie.

He won't trust us enough to meet any of our representatives, and that includes Pamela with the mind control powers, which undermines my plan and tempts me to take option #3. We cannot possibly know if he's handed over all the information he has, for option #2.

I suggest a write-in:

[ ] [Capsize] Write-In: Unilaterally tell Lady Vic to make no more attacks on Whale until further notice, but continue tracking him. She will of course be paid in full regardless of how this ends. Inform Whale that you are declaring a cease-fire as a gesture of good faith. You will only agree to a permanent truce (and to permanently call off Lady Vic) if Whale agrees to meet your representative. The representatives will be the same two women he has met before; they will be unescorted by any of your security forces or special operatives. To assure Whale that this is not a trap, the meeting will take place in a city of his choosing, in a public park of his choosing, at a time of his choosing. Send Roxy and Pamela off to negotiate the deal. Pamela will have the pheromone spray handy.

The idea here is that a public park is almost the perfect setting for Poison Ivy (Martial 21) to defend herself if Whale has some kind of double-cross in mind, but that sending two women who have a history of not attacking him is unlikely to raise his suspicions. I have every intention of accepting Whale's offer, and letting him live so long as he stays out of Metropolis, but if possible want to use the spray to compel him not to reveal our secrets.

Tracking the Tapper
Some unknown individual (at least you assume it is an individual) has somehow managed to tap the Lex-Phone network and is using it to spy on others. They are unaware that you know of their existence. The individual in question is apparently somewhere in France although you are not quite sure where as they have thoroughly bounced around the signal they are using. Now you have an opportunity to get the drop on this individual before they can begin making moves of their own. Please select your favorite option from the list below. Please be aware that this will not be the only opportunity to address this issue merely the first available one (the unknown individual basically failed a check that then allowed you a priority action).

[ ] [Tap] Track down the unknown individual yourself
[ ] [Tap] Attempt to use the unknown individuals tapping of the lines as a way to spy on them
[ ] [Tap] Alert the French authorities of this unknown individual
[ ] [Tap] Attempt to figure out how they tapped into the network by testing what could have been done
[ ] [Tap] Do nothing and let the unknown individual make the first move and thus make a mistake you can exploit
France. France. Who the fuck is operating in France... this may tie into the events in Paris. Who's active in France though? Damn, this is a mystery.

@King crimson , just to be clear, "Attempt to use the unknown individuals tapping of the lines as a way to spy on them" will presumably help us to narrow down their location, assuming we succeed?

Because as long as we know what they're reading from our network, I don't really mind them continuing to do so, for as long as it takes for us to find them.

Releasing movies subvote
Daphne Dean has created her first movie at Lightyear Entertainment. While it has tested well with focus groups the movie is relatively niche and isn't a massive obvious blockbuster that could be wildly successful with all audiences that would put you on the map the way you would like. As such you have a bit of an issue. Do you release Daphne's movie now and get as much money as possible or do you wait until you have a larger repertoire of movies under your belt. Lightyear Entertainment as it is now is not geared towards making high budget films so unless you wish to remain an arthouse studio you need to expand.

[ ] [Movie] Release "The Curse of the Atomic Skull" in theaters now and keep Daphne happy and maximize short term profit

[ ] [Movie] Wait until you have a larger repertoire of films and can release larger, bigger budget blockbusters to try and maximize reputation with the public and long term success
I say we release the movie right away. Getting reputation among film critics for releasing something is important. Plus, we're in the age of VHS and soon to be the age of DVD movies. If our later films become blockbusters, this one will sell good on recordings.

@King crimson

Sorry for the double-post, but... did Cerise ASK to be cast as Circe?

Because that's kind of hilarious. And given that we're pretty sure she's the mythological Circe, and knowing her reputation, I'm afraid not to give her what she asks for. :p

Yes it would.
@King crimson

Sorry for the double-post, but... did Cerise ASK to be cast as Circe?
Cerise basically said "If you need a Circe I'm more than happy to play her". She didn't outright ask for it but she proactively volunteered for the part.

[ ] [Star] Cast Cerise Orielle as Circe in the adventures of Hercules
(8 points)

I dont care much about the other choices but we MUST have this.

Hm. Captain Cold is probably a good choice. Him being an ex-con is okay by me, he's a competent engineer, and we've probably missed the chance to hire Victor Fries (who'd be my first choice) anyway

Agreed. With him on our payroll, we can eventually hire all the others.

The relevant secret is probably weather control; this is Weather Wizard. Color me interested; a weather controller would be very useful.

Also we may also offer to hire his brother who invented the thing. Also useful.

Hm. We already have the Prankster, whose schtick is broadly similar. Not sure he's all that special.
I kinda want to hire him if only to have Mark Hamil working for us.

Hm. Heat Wave. Could be interesting
I kind of want to hire him if only for the Legends of Tomorrow tv show. But this version may be a bit much due to pyromania.

Hmmm. 44 points. Skipping Basil Karlo. Too expensive.

Let's see. William Great Eagle is a Native American Batman-analogue. Jonathan Lord is or becomes Silverblade, a man who can transform into any of his past movie roles. Otto Fisher (?) does amazing acrobatics with magnets and became a one-off Green Lantern villain. Amber Joyce is in at least one continuity precognitive. WANT.

Chloe Decker is... uh... from the Lucifer TV show? Not sure I want to get into that complexity. She might be interesting somehow? Daniel Cassidy is the Blue Devil, or will become him. Dunno. Kato is... um... an assassin guy? Not sure. Dexter Myles is a former Shakespearean actor and presumably competent, but not sure he's worth much. Randy Booth is a WWII veteran of Easy Company. I'd be interesting to hear what he has to say if it's a narration thing.

Saied Kadesh is a loose end in the whole Batson/Shazam/Sivana thing and WORTH IT.

Paige Monroe is Calendar Girl, a villain who is... not unusual, powerswise? Talented but not worth splurging points on right now, IMO. She'd probably make a decent Diplomacy hero.

Hector Ramirez was a successor to the Wildcat title so he'd probably make a good Hercules. Lance... doesn't really have much going on except for being gay-coded in a pre-1985 Wonder Woman comic?

Ramona Reed is a competent actress as I understand it- some archery skill, tried to become Green Arrow's sidekick. Not that special.

I am afraid to NOT cast Cerise as Circe given my suspicions about her true identity.

I want Jinx to get to appear again.

Now, I'm a bit unsure about some of my choices here, it's just that there are few obviously must-do choices. Hmm, 44 points...

Dammit. Clayface & Paige Monroe are too expensive.

@Simon_Jester i like everything in your plan except the selling of shares. While it will makes us some cash immediately now are not really lacking in that department. There are also minority shareholders rights the could limit certain actions we may wish to take. A public company also has a higher amount of scrutiny. All in all the benefits I feel are not worth the downsides

What reason does lexcorp have to go public if we go public? Lex would be at the mercy of a board of directors and would need to maintain stock value which would greatly restrict his movements.

Also If selling, I'd rather sell it back to Carol.

I agree with the posters above, there's no real benefit to selling off company shares in this quest.

Pity we don't have the points for Calendar Girl, I've always had a soft spot for her issues.

I mean lex has enough money that it does not even show in the info page and has enough money that a million is considered a paltry sum for him what reason do we have to want more money?
