So @King crimson, does the Queen of Fables still count as obscure? Because she shows up in the new Harley Quinn animated series.

Depending on how big the Queen of Fables gets off of this it might change her status but the whole point of using the Queen of Fables in that Show was to deliberately pick an obscure villain who got written off very quickly.

Like I'd argue she is still fairly obscure. Maybe not enough to remain on the same list of minor villains anymore but certainly is still a good bit below others. Crazy Quilt, the Madniks, Aquamaria, Volcana, Prank, Silver Monkey, and the Nuclear Family have all had as many or more appearances than Queen of Fables on a show so I don't think TV show appearances is the best way to gauge how well known a character is. If she sticks around in the public consciousness afterwards then she might no longer be an obscure character but I have very little faith in any of the staying power of the Harley Quinn show and its impact on the perception of characters going forward.

Granted part of that might be because I have a lot of issues with the show that cause me to just not enjoy it and that taints my perspective but I don't believe that it will give the character any real staying power in and of itself. Like how characters like Egghead didn't last past the end of the 66' series in any tangible way or how characters like Volcana and Aquamaria are virtual nonentities despite regularly appearing on fairly successful shows I don't think a single appearance of a character on a show is enough to save them from obscurity especially when the show is relatively niche (Gearhead, Everyman, Humpty Dumpty, General Immortus and Harm all are evidence to the contrary despite having appeared far more prominently in a tv show).

I suspect the show itself will be forgotten pretty quickly, but if people end up liking any of the obscure characters in it other shows/comics will try to capitalise.

It's definitely a long shot but certainly possible.

So the LexCorp men who followed us into Markovia; If our mission is sucessful, should we give them a pay raise & make them the Officer Corps of our PMC to stablize it until we get a Hero Unit to lead?

So @King crimson I am working on your most recent contest of gathering information that you have given about the universe and quest mechanics but a got a few questions
1 do want us to ignore post that you have already tagged informational?
2 how do you want these posts presented I was planning on just quoting all of them but considering how large that post may get would you prefer if the information were grouped into separate spoiler tabs

You can ignore informational tags.

I'd prefer them to be grouped but just having them all is viable

Inside Markovia Part 5
And here is part 5 of the inside Markovia event. This is the second to last post of the event with the conclusion coming at 9 pm PST today. After that there will be an interlude detailing Lady Vic's assassination attempt on Tobias Whale and an introduction to Dr. Moon and then we will have action phase 16.

I had a lot of fun with this event even if I do think that it was a little more bloated than I would like. There is one last twist to this particular event before everything closes out though. Let me know what worked and didn't work for this event and I will try to do better in the future. In the meantime enjoy and I'm curious if anyone can predict what the ultimate consequences of this event will be and why Delamb and Vertigo both ended up not doing what they said they were going to do. Enjoy!

Inside Markovia Part 5
There only ever was one way to deal with Karnz. You refuse to leave any loose ends lying around and as such you send Cassandra out of the room. You refuse to let anyone potentially compromise your goals and General Karnz holds nothing of value to you. The man whimpers in fear. You curl your finger around the trigger and put him down cleanly and efficiently. You then promptly leave the room.

Unfortunately in her time outside of the General's room Cassandra has spotted numerous armed men whom she did not recognize and decided to take them down. While she did manage to dispatch them relatively quickly it still costs you a few minutes regrouping with her in all the chaos. The base is now on fire and men are running around firing at one another with no distinction between friend or foe.

You slowly manage to link back up with your men and attempt to take one of the experimental tanks. Unfortunately the tanks have realized that anyone in another tank is on their side and so have taken to firing a deadly laser at anyone who gets close to them.

It takes you awhile but you end up managing to come up with a plan to deal with them. You have your men encircle the tanks and attempt to cause a distraction. Your men were meant to engage in hit and run tactics but unfortunately one of them ended up getting hit by a stray shot from a tank and vaporized. While the tanks are all distracted you have Cassandra approach them in secret.

Cassandra makes her way to the tanks and sabotages one of their guns just as another of your men is vaporized. She then makes her way to the second tank and disables the cooling system on that tanks main gun as well. She then breaks into the third tank. You are confident that she can eliminate everyone inside. The two tanks Cassandra sabotaged continue to fire repeatedly but eventually their weapons overheat. This creates a violent feedback loop and causes the tanks weapons to accidentally detonate. Now you and your remaining three men rush at the third tank now that you cannot be fired upon. One of the tanks, in a move of desperation attempts to run you down but you manage to avoid it. While the tanks can move relatively fast they struggle with making sharp turns and with their weapons disabled they are unable to effectively combat infantry that comes at them from multiple directions.

Cassandra opens the hatch and you and your men pile into the tank. You toss the men Cassandra has knocked unconscious out of the tank and congratulate your daughter on a job well done. Cassandra beams with joy at having been praised for doing a fantastic job. You then move to less enjoyable things. You take command of the tank and have it open fire on the remaining two super-tanks. These vehicles have immensely powerful weapons and while they also have advanced armor it is not enough to stand to the futuristic firepower of the tanks main cannon.

With your enemies now disabled, you drive off in an attempt to chase down Baron Delamb. On the way there you are informed of by both Roxanne and Mercy as to what is going down on their ends of the operation. Roxanne informs you that Ra's al Ghul is in the country personally overseeing the operations and that he wants to meet with you directly to speak with you face to face afterwards. She also lets you know that the attack on Delamb's estate went off without a hitch, although the missing man was not found and Delamb was not present and that the attack on Count Vertigo's convoy is underway. Bito is also gearing up for a second strike against Baron Delamb wherever he is. It is only once Mercy informs you that the royal family has dismissed her anonymous suggestion since Baron Delamb is already heading to the castle that you realize that once again things have gone wrong.

When you reach the castle, hoping to intercept Delamb before he makes it inside you realize it is to late. NATO forces have begun entering the building in order to deal with the terrorists that have breached the castles defenses. As an unknown tank they assumed you were hostile and began to fire at you. You swiftly turned yourself around and retreated. While you have succeeded somethings continue to remain up in the air and the time you took fulfilling secondary objectives at Karnz's camp caused you to run out of time to deal with Delamb yourself. Whatever happens in Markovia is now out of your hands. It is a bitter feeling but you know that this trip is not necessarily a failure just yet. All that's left is to see how things finally play out.

Leaving Markovia subvote
The operation in Markovia will soon come to a close. As such it is best for you to begin wrapping things up as soon as possible before an investigation on what exactly happened in the country occurs. Please vote for your favorite option from the list. There is a one hour moratorium on voting. Write-in's are acceptable for this vote but all write-ins are subject to QM approval.

[ ] [Leave] Meet with Ra's al Ghul before leaving

Oh well, things had gone to shit. Lets just salvage what we can and leave. We have a Pension Plans & Scholarships to arrange for the MIA & KIA'd men, the "super tank" to study & reverse engineer; diplomacy & communication will need to be patched with our "ally".

[ ] [Leave] Meet with Bito Wladon before leaving

This is curious. But we already have NATO knowing we are active here, meeting with a known terrorist (pro-democracy or not) is not a good idea. He is also a Principles Zealot so he may blame this cluster fuck on us. Maybe we recruit him if he gets exiled or something.

[ ] [Leave] Meet with Ra's al Ghul before leaving
we how definitely lost major points with Ra's Lets not snub him now and see if we can salvage our alliance

[X] [Leave] Meet with Ra's al Ghul before leaving

This is probably the parting of the ways between our two organisations, we should probably see what he wishes to speak with is about, whether it be good or bad.
