On A.M.A.Z.O., we stack, say, Lex+Ivo+Cassandra =
36 + (.45*33 = +15) + (2*(15-5) = +20) + (Ivo's Trait +7) + (Lex's Trait +10) =
+88 on the die roll.

Maybe throw in Dahl if we want virtually total certainty of success; that gives us +11 for Dahl's contribution (1.5*11), and another +5 to Lex's bonus for a total of +104. And still favorable enough to allow a reroll, even!

Then for bone growth:

Pamela+Karl+Jinx+Mercy =
+47 (existing collaboration) + 10 + (Mercy's Trait +10) = +67, enough to beat the DC if it doesn't rise.

It's not what you'd call maximally efficient, but it hopefully lets us salvage Karl or at least slow things down enough that he doesn't collapse on us. And we can expect good spin-offs out of A.M.A.Z.O.

I like and support this. Make it happen and I'll back it.

It's hard to blame him for being kind of stressed and pissed.
I don't blame him. He is just a liability because it is unlikely we will be able to complete AMAZO before he dies, unless we find a stopgap measure to prolong his life or stop him aging with cryotech.

There is going to be fallback no matter how well or bad this Intergang event goes, which will become High Priority.
Superman shows up in a few turns, again it'll be High Priority because he's our Nemesis and we have to do something about him every turn.

The consequences of Intergangs event alone are going to be a shitshow and will pull us in several different directions, making it extremely unlikely we would be able to spare Lex+Cass+Pamela+etc on a joint AMAZO action.

we don't need to strike against superman every turn. we get a namesis action every few turns depending on how well the last one went

For Ivo if we can get Freeze and his cryogenic tech we can freeze him until we can get a medical breakthrough to either extend his lifespan or outright cure his disease. It would just be a shame to lose an intellect of Ivo caliber as even if we just have him do projects by himself he can be expected to do reasonably well.

Also we can still buy Gotham corp DC just upped into the 80s so we would want a very good intrigue team on it.

But a lot depends on the fallout for the turn.

We need 12 successes; a high-scoring success tends to bring multiple successes.

If we can get three or four Lex-led teamups in the next 10 turns or so, we're set. It's a big ask, and I get your irritation, but we don't have to work that hard to accomplish this. And, notably, we get rewards every time the project advances.

Yep Push Formula and Amazo, We can afford to fall behind somewhat in some other area as long as we finish Amazo, we need some life extension, or alternatively we can nab some organs, dont tell me we cant get extra 3-4 from buying organs from people in poor countries. some of them have to have some of them that would bbe usefull.

@King crimson can we develop sort of portable organ detector that would detect if persons organs are compatibile with Ivo ? and then just sent people looking around in africa and poor asia ?

Marie is the one who reduces it.
Huh. Convenient, seeing as how she's one of our less-allocated heroes aside from "be a +11 to Lex or Ivo's research roll."

That would likely involve several turns worth of hard Learning projects in biology and medicine, followed by Diplomatic/Stewardship/Intrigue actions to find prospective organ donors. t would probably be more efficient to finish A.M.A.Z.O., despite the formidable DC.

I mean, we're playing Lex Luthor the comic book villain; we can do damn near anything, however bizarre and improbable, in principle. It's just a question of which things are too much of a pain in the ass.

It would be nice for Marie to lead her own project I think if we have room next turn we should do so. Also we should probably double down on AMAZO if there is not a more critical action.
I'm kind of iffy on doubling down on actions when the prospective consequences of failure aren't the end of the world. There is a LOT of potential of benefit from us picking up low-DC actions, often without even investing heroes- things like "Improve weapons" and the easier "sell your ____" actions.

One of the big risks I foresee is us devolving into, effectively, a superhero team: very good at doing a few specific things, but only capable of actually accomplishing a few things per turn meaningfully, and encountering costly setbacks whenever we try to significantly alter the situation in our favor.

We need to take advantage of Lex's "superpower" (control of a huge multinational corporation) to accomplish numerous side-projects that gradually add up to increase our overall competitive strength. Doubling down on noncritical actions that don't have to succeed right now, this turn is a shaky proposition.

It made sense to double down on Markovia because there is a literal doomsday bomb involved there. That's an exception to the rule; the only reason we're handling it personally rather than letting our allies or minions mop up is because the stakes are so high.

To be honest, I was quite surprised from what we got in the results. A large shame over Karl, we need to fix this.
The shrink option. Double down on this:-

[ ] Have Jarret Parker meet with an employee
DC ??? (A hero unit must be assigned to this action. Taking this action also means that Jarret Parker must be assigned to this action) You have hired a skilled psychologist so that you could ensure that your employees remain stable enough. While you are certain that LexCorp employs some very odd individuals you have no intention of letting their psychosis' blow up on you. As such a meeting with Jarret Parker might be worthwhile to stave off a meltdown.

Double down also increases the likelyhood that we get rerolls and thus higher level of success though we can only do so for one action a turn. So we can also do so to try and get greater rewards for an action

honestly i think we might want to double down on amazo and put entire team on it when we have calm moment, clear 2 or 3 steps IF IT REALLY goes well and get ourselves buffer in case of amazo failure.

You lack the understanding of biology to get this just now (there was a route to it based on the lifeform scanner in the alien technology subvote). There is a route to it you just haven't gotten around to it just yet.

Turn 15 Results Part 2
And now this has happened. Things are getting interesting. Please be aware that the actions listed here are only what you are immediately aware of. Even more stuff is happening in the background. I'm so excited right now. Avruskin and Ignition's master plan is coming to a close (and they are in turn being aided by some unknown force), the setup to the conflict between Santa Prisca and the US is here, Intergang is being backed into a corner but is more dangerous than ever and the Long Halloween is coming to a close (even if what is actually going down there isn't listed in this bit). World News is going to be a doozy and Superman is coming soon (and the world arguably needs a Superman soon). The first act slowly comes to a close and I am hyped. I've got a few more twists to reveal before it all ends but I hope you end up getting satisfied by the end as much as I am. Feel free to make some predictions about what is going down and what the future holds as I think I've made the journey interesting thus far. I'm so excited right now I can hardly wait to see how you all react to what is coming. I've rambled on and on but I am really hyped for the last few twists and the conclusion of this part of the journey. Let me know your thoughts on what is going down and I recommend you begin strategizing for dealing with what is coming.

Turn 15 Results Part 2

Others Actions

Jarrett Parker
[ ] Conduct a psychological evaluation of the rank and file LexCorp member
DC 34
Roll 22 + 14 (Jarrett Parker diplomacy stat) = 36
Bare Success

Jarrett Parker has finally gotten around to successfully finding the baseline of mental health in LexCorp. The average worker at your company is relatively psychologically stable with some positive thoughts about their employer but no more so than the average worker with a good boss. They are relatively disconnected from the upper echelon of LexCorp. The main exception to this seems to be the security forces who are almost fanatically loyal to the company and show a level of interest in their jobs that Jarrett describes as potentially unhealthy. You don't see any problems with it.

Results: Baseline of mental health at LexCorp established

The US Government
[ ] Declare War on Santa Prisca
DC 0
Roll 83

For human rights violations and aiding and abetting terrorists the US government has declared war on Santa Prisca. Troops are already mobilizing and much of the world has now agreed to join in on this fight. Santa Prisca faces severe sanctions and is more despised then ever in the world community. Projections are optimistic on the war ending in a year or so.

Results: US mobilizes for war against Santa Prisca, Numerous allies to the US mobilize for war against Santa Prisca, Santa Prisca faces immense sanctions, positive outlook on war right now, war declared.

[ ] Request Markovia allow people to search its borders for members of Intergang
DC 76
Roll 87 (with hero bonuses factored in)
Decent success

The US government has covertly contacted the government of Markovia and informed them that they have received credible information that a wanted terrorist may be hiding in their country. Seeing the US declaring war on Santa Prisca has incentivized the royal family to provisionally agree to some things. While they do not trust the US government on its own they have agreed to let NATO forces in to search the country. This is unprecedented in the country's traditionally isolationist approach.

Results: Markovia allows NATO forces into their border to search for Intergang, Royal family's popularity dips significantly as a result of opening up borders to foreigners but war and sanctions are avoided.

General Eiling
[ ] Attempt to make a supersoldier
DC 366
Roll 352 (with hero bonuses factored in)
Bare failure

Desperate to get results Eiling has continued Project Atom. While he still has not succeeded his results are getting closer and he has found a way to somewhat stabilize the lifeforms bathed in the engines energies. He has not succeeded but he has shown that there is promise in his work.

Results: Nothing happened, DC slightly reduced for next time

DOMA
[ ] Send Lex a sample of Woodrue's remains
DC 0
Auto success

Diana has once again been fulfilling her promise. While the data on Woodrue is a bit later than you would have liked it to come you still have received it. The DOMA has not made much headway in analyzing Woodrue's remains. They have sent you a sample of the mans remains. Bizarrely enough these pieces seem to still be alive if not sentient. Now you must figure out what to do going forward from here

Results: Gained sample of Woodrue's remains, Woodrue's Remains subvote

Bradford Sackett
[ ] Cut Police funding
DC 22
Roll 65 (with hero bonuses factored in)
Major success

Bradford Sackett has successfully slashed virtually all of the police forces budget. Due to the relative drop in crime with the ousting of Intergang, Sackett has cut nearly all police funding as it isn't necessary anymore. This is an interesting move for him to make at the end of his term and you aren't quite sure what he is going for

Results: Police funding significantly reduced

[ ] Institute weaponry restriction laws
DC 16
Roll 28 (With hero bonuses factored in)
Decent success

Bradford Sackett has also managed to pass a law which would restrict private citizens ability to carry firearms in the open within the city of Metropolis. This law seems benevolent at first glance but in actuality ends up restricting your forces ability to operate within the city more than anything else. Considering how quiet Bradford Sackett has been up to this point it's interesting to see why he is making so much noise now.

Results: Private citizens are now heavily restricted in the types of weaponry they can carry in Metropolis limiting the effectiveness of your security forces.

Intergang
[ ] Develop Mechas
DC 112
Roll 178 (with hero bonus factored in)
Massive success

Worryingly you have managed to overhear information on Intergang further developing full blown mechas. Once again a mysterious individual that Manneheim refers to only as "Thaddeus" is pushing the development of Intergang's weapons to be ever more advanced. The fact that they are continuously increasing their arsenal is quite concerning to you now.

Results: Intergang now has access to significantly powerful mechas

[ ] Attempt to assassinate Lois Lane
DC 36
Roll 5 + 28 (Blindspot intrigue stat plus trait) - 0 (Blindspot trait nullifies Daily planet staff members intrigue stat) = 33
Bare failure

The assassin hired by Intergang has revealed himself. Apparently he was hired by Vincent Edge specifically and his first job was to kill Lois Lane as revenge for outing Galaxy Communications ties to Intergang. The assassin, who goes by the name Blindspot, was wearing a suit of some kind that made him completely invisible. Using this advanced technology he made it all the way into the offices of the Daily Planet and proceeded to attempt to strangle Lois Lane in her office. The only reason Lois is not dead is because a young photographer named Jimmy Olsen entered the office and saw Lois being strangled by an invisible force and promptly knocked Blindspot off of her. Blindspot then retreated as he was unsure of how quickly actual armed individuals would arrive. Lois Lane was remarkably unshaken by this event but she has given up her office and now works at a cubicle in which her coworkers can easily see her. Blindspot hasn't seemed to make any attempts to get passed LexCorp security but now you have a better idea of what to expect.

Results: Intergang assassin revealed to be Blindspot, Blindspot has an invisibility suit, the attempt on Lois' life fails.

Ignition
[ ] Betray Intergang
DC 47
Roll 40 + 12 (Ignition intrigue stat) = 52
Bare success

Ignition has now turned against Intergang for some reason and has burned down a base of theirs located in Indonesia. While the attack has done little damage to Intergang it is clear to the world that Ignition is not fully associated with them

Results: Ignition no longer working with Intergang, world is aware that Ignition is not truly a member of Intergang

[ ] Surrender himself peacefully to US custody
DC 299
Roll 77 + 3 (Ignition diplomacy stat) + 250 (????? interference)
Total 330
Significant success

Ignition has managed to peacefuly surrender himself into US custody in exchange for some kind of trade of information. How he managed a plea bargain while being one of the most wanted men in the world is incredibly odd to you. Something else is pulling the strings and you are unsure what this means for the world at large. It is safe to say that whatever is going on behind closed doors is vitally important

Results: Ignition is now in US custody and has peacefully surrendered in exchange for giving them information.

Yep mayor has to go. Wonder if he is in the whales pocket. Also firearm restrictions by a city seems...odd. we could go over his head at the state level.

Oh and the mayor slashed police funding just as lois was attacked... not a good look.
