@King crimson: What do you think of an Informational regarding general tech level and stuff? Stuff like "currently flip-phones" and "magic isn't public knowledge" just get buried otherwise, so clarifying things would make our social engineering schemes easier.

So there is now a tie between [ ] donate to veterans [ ] learn about computers. Make of that what you will.

I can try and make it. It'll probably be a bullet point list of facts about the setting but I should be able to get that one done relatively fast. I'll probably make it my priority after the traits informational post. It is important and I will get it done before the weekend is out

@King crimson: We get 8 actions, and going by line tally... It would actually be a toss-up between "Learn Computers", "Improve Phones", and "Talented Scientists". Specifically for the 7th and 8th actions, as they're the only actions with 9 votes each.

I mentioned earlier that I would be looser with the line tally in this vote because of two things which is why the vote is not just by the line tally (which is what I did earlier when I was being strict).
1) I have had a much easier time tallying votes then I thought I would
2) A lot of the reason why the votes aren't formatting correctly is because of me. Firstly I allowed for plan voting and voting by tasks (which means a bunch of people voted for something but it doesn't show up in the line properly cause they only voted for a plan). Secondly because I am copy-pasting stuff from a google doc and back my own font is formatting a little wonky. This means that when people copy paste the options I give them and when people write out the option for some reason sufficient velocity counts it as two different votes. I don't think its fair to spring it on people that the reason why there vote isn't formatting properly is because they either copied me or chose to write it out and others did the reverse.

This voting phase was a bit experimental and I tried some options to see if it would work better. I do think that the vote format for this phase will be different in the next phase due to the legibility issues of this vote. This was a mistake on my part due to wanting to experiment with the format a bit.

Turn 2 Hero vote
Here is the winning vote included are the projected bonuses for the heroes being assigned to it:

[ ] Begin manufacturing cell phones
DC 12 Cell phones are an everyday item that the modern world is growing to depend on. By creating your own cell phone you can get in on the ground floor of this trend. On top of that many features of a cell phone can be turned to your own ends
( if Luthor assigned +28 to roll, if Mercy assigned plus 9 to roll, if both Luthor and Mercy assigned +47 to roll)

[ ] Begin manufacture of prosthetics
DC 1 You already have the technology why not make a profit off of it? True it is a bit less impressive then you had hoped it would be but you have a very large market for these things. No sense in not taking advantage of every resource at your disposal.
(if Luthor assigned +28 to roll, if Mercy assigned plus 9 to roll, if both Luthor and Mercy assigned +47 to roll)

[ ]Acquire a legal team
DC 13 In business the law is both your best friend and your worst enemy. Being able to navigate freely through the complex legal systems of multiple countries and turn them to your advantage is what separates truly great companies from merely successful ones. As such it is high time you got yourself a team of lawyers to exploit the system and prevent it from being turned against you.
( if Luthor assigned +28 to roll, if Mercy assigned plus 9 to roll, if both Luthor and Mercy assigned +47 to roll)

[ ] Create a bank and payment service
DC 15 With your recent forays into the cell phone market, the vast quantities of money LexCorp has and the high security of your buildings it only makes sense for you to enter the financial sector. Not only would this allow you to track other peoples money but if the service is successful then it can make you a lot of money very fast.
( if Luthor assigned +28 to roll, if Mercy assigned plus 9 to roll, if both Luthor and Mercy assigned +47 to roll)

[ ] Build the LexCom communications network
DC 45 With your new designs for cell phones and your own capability to launch satellites it only makes sense for you to cut out the middleman and create your own cell phone service as well as selling your own phone. The market isn't too crowded right now and you are sure LexCorp can shove out the competition.
( if Luthor assigned +28 to roll, if Mercy assigned plus 9 to roll, if both Luthor and Mercy assigned +47 to roll)

[ ] Improve phones
DC 7 If you want to dominate the cell phone market you need your product to blow every competitors' out of the water. You're sure if you devote a little bit of time to this relatively minor task then you can easily revolutionize the whole market and thus dominate the field. Only the best for LexCorp
(if Luthor assigned +25 to roll, if Mercy assigned +10 to roll, if both Luthor and Mercy assigned +44 to roll)

[ ] Learn about computers

DC 31 Computers are a relatively new field that tends to have an increasingly large amount of influence in how the world is run. With the internet in its fledgling state it may be worthwhile to learn as much as you can to dominate this relatively young field.
(if Luthor assigned +25 to roll, if Mercy assigned +10 to roll, if both Luthor and Mercy assigned +44 to roll)

[ ] Recruit talented scientists
DC 28 Science waits for no man. True you are one of the greatest minds in all of human history but there is no reason you can't stack the deck even further in your favor. Your achievements have spread throughout the scientific community and so recruiting is probably easier then ever
(if Luthor assigned +24 to roll, if Mercy assigned +4 to roll, if both Luthor and Mercy assigned to roll +35 to roll)

Please vote only in plan format for how you want to assign your heroes. Any vote not in plan format will be discounted. Sorry for the delay the formatting fought me for this one like crazy.

Traits
So what are traits and how do they work? Essentially traits are highly specified modifiers. While not necessarily the most useful in all situations they still provide a useful benefit to those characters that have them.

No character starts off with a trait. Rather traits are earned by the actions a character takes in universe. As such this makes the hero vote even more important as where you assign your hero units determines what traits your hero units get. Traits are generally earned either through excelling at a task, repeatedly succeeding at a task, or repeatedly failing a task. Traits can be modified and evolve over time. For example if Superman has the trait Defender of the US which gives a +22 bonus to martial against forces invading the USA he can upgrade it to Defender of the Planet Earth which gives a +56 bonus to martial against forces invading the earth if he defends the earth from invasion 3 times after getting the title. Traits are always evolving based off of how you interact with the world around you.

However there is a catch to the traits system. Not only do your hero units have traits but every other hero units also can earn traits. Furthermore not all traits will be revealed to you upon first encountering a new character. Because of this the traits system means it is important to gauge just who your enemies are before attempting to eliminate them.

@King crimson: Did only seven actions win or am I just failing a spot check? Besides that, what exactly would "Improve Phones" cover? Like, would Lex still get the brilliant idea to make them tiny computers, or was "Learn Computers" required for that?

God damnit I messed up. I'll be fixing it now.
Edit: Thanks for pointing it out have 100 exp for pointing out the issue since I swiftly fixed it (I didn't include the coinflip option which was [ ] learn about computers).

@King crimson before i make a plan if we get a high roll on Recruit talented scientists would we get a named character like for example the calculator also a side note can we change calling them hero's i think it would be confusing later so here is some ideas Super, Capes, Exalt, and Named Characters.

[X] Plan Critical
-[X] Both Lex and Mercy help Build the LexCom communications network

might as well, if we can get this set up we can begin our take-over of the logistical trade network of mankind, and thus from logistics to infrastructure, we will become the foundation for a new humanity, a more stronger world capable of defending itself and laying claim to our solar system! We must completely take it over and begin the reign of World Leader Luthor Lex!

You could get a named character with a high enough roll (probably not calculator though).

I don't see the issue with using the word hero to describe them. Admittedly I can change it to hero units which is what I have mostly used. The issue with the terms you have provided is that they are misleading. Both Mercy and Lois Lane are hero units but neither one is a super or a cape in any meaningful capacity. Also when referring to characters like Superman and Batman I will go out of my way to refer to them as superheroes. If more people tell me it's an issue I'll go back and change the word but right now it seems relatively pedantic and a lot of work on my part for very little benefit.

I think we should try to get a trait related to having access to information.

If Lex and Mercy work together more how does that increase their cooperation level?

[X] Plan hire more named characters
-[X] Recruit talented scientists
--[X] Assign Lex Luthor and Mary Graves

this is really important if we get a high roll we will get another hero unit.

Assuming everything goes well it should increase it. If things go poorly the the relationship may sour. It is dependent on the roll but it shouldn't be too big of an effect as of now. Right now you are relatively safe but later on it might get riskier.

we got 99 on Fortify LexCorp tower would't we get a trait?

Also wasn't there a tie between computer and veterans? If so shouldn't my vote be the tiebreaker for veterans?
