okay this what i know about Wildstorm in the Wildstorm world Russia was destroyed by someone and Wildstorm the United Nations Special Crisis Intervention Team was created think justice league that kills it all started with the secret government super solider program to create super weapons called team 7 but that the problem was they created weapons with conscious so they ran away, killed themselves or died from cancer the only memorable member of team 7 is Grifter but team 7 had kids who would become Gen 13 if you want to fit it into canon have that the government did do the project but the all died or missing in the case of Grifter and the kids don't know that they have powers because it wasn't forcibly awakened in them and the only popular wildstorm members is Midnighter think batman that would kick you in the balls then stump on for face for good measure and Apollo think superman who is also Midnighter's husband.

and if you wanted you can have Lex create Midnighter by give someone his same enhancement and call the Midnighter.

Welp it did solidify that I will not be using wildstorm characters. If you want to to make stuff from outside comics in the thread go ahead just know you need to do it piecemeal. I know that someone wanted to replicate Mysterio's drones (marvel stuff definitely wont show up) but trying to make it is fine.

As such if you want to try and make your own midnighter you can do so assuming you plan for it right.

Okay, I find it weird so many people are voting for both "Manufacture Cell Phones" and "Build Communications Network", yet don't include "Improve Phones" on top of that. King crimson said Cell Phones are currently just flip-phones in-universe, whereas creating Smartphones would keep people's attention.

Mean, with a Smartphone, you basically got a Watch and Flashlight with you at all times. Not to mention the ability to FaceTime people, so you can actually see them. Then all the numerous other functions, like how Smartphones can access the internet.

Think about it! With a LexCo Smartphone, you're able to stay up-to-date with local news and actually speak face-to-face with your loved ones no matter where you are! Plus, since it also has camera and recording features, that means no bulky devices to record the things important to you.

Sure Lex could just put out high-quality flip-phones, but they barely do anything. Only able to call people and play incredibly basic games. Mean, by making Smartphones, we can set the groundworks for LexCo creating a Streaming service (like YouTube) and get a foot into the gaming industry!

Plus, if everyone is walking around with LexCo brand recording devices... makes it a lot easier for us to gather information. In fact...

@King crimson: If we create Smartphones using the "Improve Phones" option, would that make locating "Unusual Individuals" easier? Mean, since they'll be connected to our network, we'll be able to verify if a video recording is unedited. That, and Superheroes tend to be in huge populated areas.

Sure. It has a good amount of prerequisites but it could definitely be done later on down the line

This will also open up endless possibilities for easier information networking (new cell-phones will likely have a knock-on effect to our internal communications) and information acquisition (if everyone is using our service to make their calls...)

If it makes sense then sure. For example you cannot gain superpowers by creating a radioactive spider and then having it bite you. However you can crib ideas like Ironmans bleeding edge armor to use for yourself. You could try and find a way to get unbreakable skin but it will not match up 1 to 1 with the marvel method (you can copy products but not how to get those products).

I refuse to confirm or deny how good an option is. I feel that the QM giving a "right" answer to how to proceed is bad quest design and answering how good something is would lead to that. If you think the plan makes sense and works well together make an argument for it so people in the thread (including myself) can understand your reasoning.

Okay, so here's the idea: Social Media and Smartphones are huge deals in our world, to the point the world seems so radically different just two decades ago. Like, back in 2000 we still had cellphones that were... just cellphones.

Ordinary flip-phones have so few features, there's hardly a reason to carry it around all the time. You really only use them to occasionally call friends and/or family, get appointments set up, call customer service... the normal things you don't need a pocket-phone for.

Plenty of people are perfectly willing to wait until they get home to use the landline, or just bum off their friends or family whenever they need a phone for something.

Thus, if we want people to buy LexCo Cellphones... We need to give them reason to. Smartphones are pretty much Phones & Computers combined together, along with Cameras and Recorders.

Photography is a big field and so is Cinematography, so having a tiny Camera/Recorder in your pocket at all times is a big deal for both professionals and amateurs. Plus, people love immortalizing big events in their lives, like taking photos of their kids or making a video of their birthday.

Then there's how Smartphones would allow you to write things up on the go, without needing to carry around a notebook all the time. So it'll quickly become a reporter's best friend.

For example, there's no pen(cil) to lose and they can always send their writing off in a text to someone if pressured into destroying their writing. Plus the whole "secretly activated the recorder" so people they are investigating obliviously incriminate themselves.

Giving the Smartphones Internet access means people can look stuff up on the go, and so they don't have to go home or to a library to browse the Internet- thus allowing people more time to socialize online, especially when they would just be sitting in silence otherwise.

Really I can just going on, but one last point: By creating Smartphones & Social Media, Lex Luthor would become a living piece of history for having revolutionized society's ability to communication and interact. Thus, another point in the "Lex Luthor is a Hero, Superman!" route. Ah, the public's favor...

I meant more that Superman has no natural immunity to getting turned into a rabbit or making him look like someone else or blinding him. That's why I specified conceptual attacks. If you use magic as brute force it'll function like brute force and thus be properly defended against by Superman's toughness.

Luthor is unaware of magic that isn't stage magic.

Yeah, chances are we will get caught at this day and age. If we make a secret wetwork division/regiment. Hiring Ex-Cons for our wetwork division, removing all of the Lexcorp logos on their gear, and having Mercy be the division's handler will be the best case scenario.
