I think we should contact the pentagon and Doma. While it says send a ahero unit and we do have some we do not use , why not just send a Lex Corp employee with a letter?

Contacting those two is going to require using the teleporter on a LexCorp employee - making the association of LexCorp and teleporter harder to deny later on, if we choose to do that. Also... do we expect that this will provide much in the way of assistance? I'm quite certain that DC has its own problems right now. It might not be getting quite as much attention from Brainiac as Metropolis is, but I'm guessing it also doesn't have as many supers or as much raw fortification to support it.

See my goal is to save the world. While I would like deniability later on, saving the world should come first. Because Lex Luthor can not rule it if it is destroyed. Also the brain can blackmail us if we do not disclose it. I think it would just be better to just admit we worked with the brotherhood of evil to save the day. Any bad PR can be waved with saving the world from a alien invasion.

-[x] [LL] Welcome Lois to LexCorp tower and speak with her in person to receive whatever information she has to give. Don't allow her into any sensitive areas. Once she's said her piece, allow her to remain in a limited, safe area, as guest of LexCorp, until this all blows over, or be escorted to wherever in the city she might wish to be escorted to. Leave Helena with her in support of this until she's decided to leave and then gotten where she's going.
I'd like to again suggest teleporting her to washington to share information and out supermans part in this to the government. They need a fall guy for why they weren't more prepared for this and Superman drawing his attention years or decades ahead of schedule is gold. The more time they have to prepare to spin the story their way the better, and lois can't even blame lexcorp.

We should also send Oswald to convince Eli to get us some worthwhile reinforcements. We don't need much but a heavy hitter in the right place could go a long way to spreading out Brainiacs forces while leaving ours free to focus on a single objective.
I'll note that if one of the structures is near a place with a lot of vegetation, then it might also make sense to send Pamela to assault that one (possibly supported by a few folks in equalizer suits) and only bomb three of them. I don't think that Pamela and Caitlyn combo all that well for things like this, though.
The best combo for pamela is lex and mercy. Between there coop scores and the equalizer suits your looking at a bonus to rolls over 100 before you add in luther and mercy's traits. Otherwise Katherine is your best bet.
-[x] [Distribute] Send Caitlyn, Siobhan, and Mari on an assault against the most easily accessible structure. Deploy blizzard blanket drones to try to interfere with the enemy's ability to perceive and reinforce, but keep them away from that one target. Otherwise, largely leave forces where they are, unless their particular objective has been cleared.
Thats a lot of superpower that brainiac is going to put a lot of pressure on. Better to deploy them elsewhere and let them draw off brainiac forces threatening one of the other devices and have lex, Mercy, Katherine, and Pamela attack the most Ideal device with an half lexcorps remaining troops to clear a path for Roxanna to hit it with a kryptonite bomb the old fashion way.

We'd be relying more on concentration oo the firepower of our soldiers coordinated by our most loyal and reliable hero units than anything else and it would allow us to limit the number of devices we need to teleport bombs to. Brainiac will figure it out eventually so I only expect us to pull off 2 or 3 teleport bombings before he figures out the trick and devises a means of countering it.

If we have lex's assault group back up our super team after eliminating their target they'll probably be able to brute force their way through inspite of how much resistance they'll be facing.

Well... we at least need a plan to start thinking with. How about this one?

[x] Plan one to throw away
-[x] [LL] Welcome Lois to LexCorp tower and speak with her in person to receive whatever information she has to give. Don't allow her into any sensitive areas. Then, once the superhero assault is well underway, use the Brain's teleporter to teleport kryptonite bombs to try to take out the remaining 4 structures, one at a time, as the teleporter refreshes.

The plan is fine as is. I'm not giving a full evaluation since I don't believe you were asking me to do so just yet.

That being said I will say that the building Brainiac is constructing on the outer border of the Park Ridge Borough, is technically the one nearest the place in Metropolis with the most vegetation (Centennial Park). That might affect your plan.

So I can see the argument here... but I'm not sure I trust it. Lois is a pro-Superman diplo hero. Yes, it would be great to get some spin in early about this, but sending Lois to be the one to do it sounds dangerous to me... especially since it could very easily lead to her seeing whichever members of Brotherhood of Evil are running the teleporter.

Now, if we could actually sell her on the idea that Superman is to blame for all fo this, that coudl eb worth quite a lot. I'd be a bit tempted to use pheremones, but they're really far too blunt-weapon, and too obvious after the fact. I know that Pamela's version is at least a bit more subtle. @King crimson - Do Pamela's pheremone effects work on women? (Some versions don't) How do they work?

We have WoQM that coop scores don't apply in major conflicts like this one.

Drawing brainiac pressure is part of the point. The combination of a bunch of superheroes and a direct assault on a hard point that he clearly cares about should draw an enormous amount of response... which our girls should be able to deal with fairly effectively. Maybe they'll break the back of his troops and make it through. maybe they won't. Regardless, it'll be a heck of a distraction.

We can have them on one, and Pamela (plus whatever she's got) on another. I'm pretty sure we don't need to take out all of them to make the process fail.

I'm... not generally inclined to send Lex out to fight the enemy in person. He's a lot better off playing mastermind from the tower.

@King crimson - Do Pamela's pheremone effects work on women? (Some versions don't) How do they work?
The answer is yes and no. Pamela's pheromones is really three types of pheromones she can use (and she can blend them together for different effects). She can do the Woodrue style pheromones, Queen Bee style pheromones and a third type I'm going to call drone pheromones.

Woodrue style pheromones and Drone Pheromones work on both men and women. Queen Bee style pheromones only work on people attracted to women (straight men, gay women and bisexual people of both genders). Pamela can use and mix and match any of those three to throw out slightly different flavors of mind control depending on what she thinks can work best.

Now how they work is a little more complicated (and requires some suspension of disbelief). Woodrue style pheromones basically induce an intense hypnotic state in the victim to implant long term suggestions and influence their psyche, Queen Bee style pheromones basically bombard a person with feelings of loyalty, love, affection and worship for Pamela until she can get whatever she wants from them (it's addicting and can have long term affects but doesn't always and can be fought off) and drone pheromones basically turn off the decision making centers and leaves them open to obeying Pamela. It doesn't allow for higher states of thought or independent action but it's the least possible to overcome even if it also has the least long term impact.

Does that sufficiently answer the question or would you like more elaboration? Pamela's basically pheromones can do a lot in terms of mind control because she's not got one type but rather three types that she can blend to then create new variations and strains, so if you have a specific kind of mind control in mind feel free to ask me and I'll tell you what I can about the subject.

Edit: I will point out Pamela cannot rewrite Lois' entire personality from scratch. She can't brute force rewrite Lois from the ground up unless you want Pamela to basically have to micromanage the new unthinking Lois Lane drone. She can do a lot but she can't functionally crack open Lois' head, rewrite her thoughts and opinions and effectively make her a new person. She's not able to do absolutely everything even if she can do a lot.

We don't need her to do the spin just share everything she revealed about superman having met the alien and destroyed it's ship to the Government. He already has his detractors there and when the puplic asks why this wasn't prevented, as they always do, being able to point at superman and say he provoked it, is going to appeal to them quite a bit. Any reporter who shows up in the aftermath will find plenty of witnesses to brainiac addressing superman directly. From their the blame falls neatly on Kal el.

Pamela's pheromones worked on her female staff member so the answer is yes. We don't need to use them honestly. Convincing lois naturally that the truth of whats happening is to important not to tell the government and get metropolis help is an easy sell, especially with brainiac directly calling Kal el out. The only use for the pheromones is to trick lois into thinking "that it doesn't matter how lexcorp got her to the capitol, she has more important things to think about".

Thing is... she's already reported on that. Like, she published that story. She apparently has additional insight supporting the idea that this alien is that alien, but it's not like the overall story isn't out there, and we certainly have plenty of evidence that the attacker was particularly interested in Superman and kept calling him Kal-El.

The other side, though... as far as we can tell, she still cares about Superman. She hasn't turned on him. She's not going to intentionally tell the story n a way that makes him look bad, and she'll be looking for interpretations that make it somehow not his fault. This, by itself, is not going to turn her against him, almost no matter how it turns out.

The freaky thing, though, is that she's handed us a massive vulnerability to exploit. She's walked into LexCorp tower voluntarily, in the middle of an alien attack. Superman is busy. No one else other than our own people are around. We could probably set up a plan that would wind up no-kidding killing her at this point... and I'm honestly tempted. Issue is that at least some of her coworkers and at least some of our troops saw her head out with Helena to go to LexCorp Tower to report, and Helena herself is maybe not particularly happy with the idea of cold-blooded murder of innocents. Still... to take that piece off the board? Might be worth it.

So, assuming that we're not going to straight-up kill her, ash the body, and feed it to the plants (which, again, tempting, but I can't quite justify) what I'd really like to do would be to actually sell her on the idea that Superman basically brought back an existential threat to the lives of every human being on earth, and she should maybe think poorly of him as a result. My issue is that the pheremones we have for it are such brute-force tools. What I'd like to have is something that could largely convince her, without having it overriding her brain in such a painfully obvious way.

You know, for years we've been grumpy about how unsophisticated and brute force our pheromone control is, and we've never DONE anything about it. Maybe we should sic Pamela on the Improve Pheromone Spray action soon, and have less of this problem in the future.

...

@King crimson , does Lois Lane know that Woodrue used pheromones on her? Because that happened a long time ago, and it's been affecting her ever since. If she knows what happened to her then, then she knows the symptoms of being dosed with mind control chemicals, which would make it more of an issue if we try to use the same formula on her now.

Nope Lois does not know that Woodrue used pheromones on her. She's entirely unaware of that fact. Even if you dosed her with a new batch of pheromones and she learned that she'd been mind controlled she likely wouldn't catch what Woodrue did.

That being said Woodrue had a whole hell of a lot more practice in getting his commands and suggestions into people's heads and getting people to accept them as perfectly reasonable (Pamela is another one of Woodrue's victims and even though she knew he messed with her head she still doesn't fully act against or deny them). Woodrue basically figured out how to refine using the stuff and practiced the effects different kinds of suggestions could have on an individual in order to optimize his results. What you'd be doing would likely be a good deal cruder than Woodrue's attempts because you didn't practice on a good number of innocent unsuspecting people first in order to learn how to exploit it.

Well, one more use for whatever criminals Queen Bee provides for us then..
...and one that probably won't conflict! Like, sure, after we've done our pheremone studies, their minds are going to be a bit pureed, but that doesn't really matter as far as using them as human guinea pigs for whatever mutation-inducing thing we have up next on the docket.
Speaking of Woodrue, when are we going to let Pamela dissect his corpse and set it on fire?
When she's no longer head of the EPA. I continue to assert that that would be better sooner rather than later.

[facepalm]

Dammit, we're suffering diminished opportunities because we're not as supervillainous as other mad scientists!

For that matter, we can probably hand them back to Queen Bee and they'll be only marginally less useful to her than before. :p

So to further clarify the matter on what Pamela's pheromones could do I'm going to list some ways she can use them.
  • She can basically hijack control of an individual and make them do nearly anything provided they don't have insanely strong willpower. The victim of this type of control is unconscious of what they are doing and needs to be actively directed to do something by Pamela
  • She can implant intense compulsions in an individual that make them really, really want to do something but if you've got enough self awareness and willpower you can fight off the compulsion it's visibly obvious as a compulsion. This is more akin to the way you use the pheromones.
  • She can do very light subtle effectively hypnotic suggestions to an individual. These generally have to be pretty subtle and not something wildly out of character for the person but you can nudge them towards something. Like the best I can compare it to is when you suddenly get a craving for a certain kind of food but you don't really know why. The types of suggestions like this that could probably be implanted in Lois would be things like "you get nervous and anxious around clowns", "you'll unconsciously chew your nails when stressed", "you don't like entering green doors", "you shouldn't be afraid to confront people you hate even if it might be a bad idea", "you'll find mobile phones incredibly addicting" or "you really want to go to a specific department store at 2:15 every Wednesday". Things that wouldn't at all fly with this type of control would include "you want to kill Superman", "you have no issue with your father or LexCorp", "you wish to give up your career to pursue a life as an actress", "your favorite color is now green" or "you'll feel a need to jump out of a window every day at 12:00" as those are either too-forceful or out of character and so they won't be accepted and will instead be rejected. You can build up a lot of these over time to alter someone's personality but you need to be careful with it and it would require regular sessions
  • She can basically "love bomb" an individual till they are convinced she's the greatest thing ever and thus happily go along with everything she asks. This type of control is technically short-term and is related to physical proximity to Pamela but it also has potential long term addictive effects (even when the vector of control is removed, knowing someone once made you feel insanely in love with them and blissfully happy can do damage to people's psyche long term). This type of control works best if the victim is already on some level attracted to her.
  • She can use her pheromones to make someone incredibly dopey and compliant and unable to think straight, being willing to just coast along doing what she tells them to but it can be resisted and people will remember being under this way
Naturally Pamela can use any of the five methods listed here to attempt to bring about another one of the five to layer the control in as many layers as possible in order to create a more unique method of control.

TLDR: Pamela can do a lot with her pheromones. She hasn't got much experience with using that part of her powerset all that well but with a bit of practice and some creativity you can exploit the hell out of Pamela's mind control capabilities.

Ah! Number 3 is just about perfect... I think. Would something along the lines of "You've concluded that Superman is at fault for Brainiac's invasion, and you blame him for all of the suffering and death it is causing, and the possibility that the world might be destroyed entirely" work on that one? Possibly follow it up by figuring out a more about what she sees as his flaws and making her care about them a bit more?

Having Pamela debrief her, leave those thoughts in her head, and then send Lois on to talk with the authorities in DC could pay some really nice dividends.

I suppose... I suppose that if nothing else, Pamela's time at the EPA has given her an opportunity to practice with the stuff.

No. The suggestion you offered is way too strong in its wording, and refers to changing someone's mind on a specific instance as opposed to a long term compulsion which is inherently harder and requires more force to immediately alter the opinion. This is just straight up not viable for option 3 as it needs to be subtle enough that the person getting affect by it can't notice that the thoughts are significantly different their own. Trying to sledgehammer all the work all at once will inherently make it a lot more likely to fail and be thought off since Lois can more easily reject it as an abnormal thought. If you don't go for subtle suggestions you won't get subtle results. Trying to get someone to blame an individual they generally like and think does their best as being responsible for an alien invasion, all death and destruction in the invasion and may in the world is so unsubtle it's not even funny. You can't use a scalpel to try and cut like a cleaver anywhere near effectively. A scalpel is way more subtle but you've gut to cut in slowly and subtly as opposed to hacking away to your preferred end state as fast as possible.

By comparison a much easier suggestion to implant in Lois Lane would be something like "you'll find yourself having doubts about Superman". Not only is it way less aggressively trying to force a narrative onto Lois' mind that runs counter to the one she currently hold but it also doesn't try to force Lois into a specific mindset all at once. Instead it lays the groundwork for Lois to come up with the doubts and issues all on her own.

Edit: A metaphorical comparison for how to use mind control type three might be best. It's effectively the fable of the boiling frog. Heat up the pot too fast in an attempt to boil the frog immediately and it'll jump out and you'll get nothing. But if you can slowly raise the degrees by a tiny amount over a long period of time, eventually you can boil the frog and arrive at the position you couldn't if you tried to get it all at once. You need to make slow little incremental changes as opposed to big sweeping ones if you want to subtly change someone's worldview.

Don't really know what to do with Lois.

@King crimson I kind of decoupled Lois vote from the rest of my plan, would it be acceptable to vote for it separately? I think it does not affect rest of the plan all that much. Also when you have time can you point at problems with plan below?

[] [LL] Have Lois Lane set in a secure bunker disconnected from LexCorp tower to share her information remotely. Open bunker to general public. Use it as one of evacuation points for civilians and Daily Planet evacuates. Recommend Lois to stay there but don't bother too much with keeping her contained.

[] [LL] Welcome Lois Lane to LexTower. Have Lex personally obtain her information. Admit to working with Brain and explain his proposal and your reasons for accepting it. Ask if Brain wishes to give Lois his own side of story and reasons for becoming supervillain. Teleport Lois and Oswald to Pentagon or another military installation currently used to coordinate country-wide defense.

[] [LL] Welcome Lois Lane to LexTower. Let Pamela debrief her. Complain a little about Superman possibly provoking invasion but don't be overly harsh about it. Use pheromones to make Lois truthfully answer a question: "In light of today revelations and for the sake of objective reporting would she be willing to doubt LexCorp less or would she prefer to doubt Superman more". Then use pheromones to make her stick to her answer.

[] Plan: Three pronged assault

-[] [B&B] Use the Brain's teleporter to teleport Chemo, an entity the Brain claims could fight on par with Superman, and Garguax, an alien with experience in identifying interstellar association, into the ship hovering above Metropolis as soon as you get it's coordinates.Use the Brain's teleporter to teleport Lisa Snart to the offices of the DOMA in Washington D.C. to get in contact with Diana Prince. Use the Brain's teleporter to teleport Helena Bertinelly to Coast City to get in contact with Carol Ferris. Use the Brain's teleporter to teleport Madame Rouge and Monsieur Mallah to St. Martin so they can determinate coordinates of alien device in there. Then pull them back and bomb device with all your kryptonite bombs and ice grenades until you have confirmation of target destruction from your allies.

-[] [Distribute] Deploy Lex Luthor, Pamela, Caitlin, Edward Wells alongside with half of your regular troops at LexCorp Tower to meet with Katherine troops and commence assault on alien device in Park Ridge. Equip Lex and Edward Wells with Equalizer exo-suits. Since hospital currently not in the danger order to leave half of your regular troops to guard it and move other half alongside with Mari, Leonard, Mick and Sam to reinforce Mercy and Elaine in Bakerline then commence assault on Bakerline alien device. Direct Roxanne and Siobhan to provide interference for alien ship above Metropolis, focus on preventing it from sending reinforcement for its forces on the ground. Direct your Blizzard drones to attack it as well to provide additional cover for your troops. As a bonus task try to find and damage anything that looks like antenna arrays on the alien ship surface. Have Felicity, Nigma, Meena, Rebecca work on a way to determinate exact coordinates of alien ships. Additionally as a bonus task have them search for a way to look inside alien ships through using some kind x-ray technology or by use of scrying, so we can teleport people into locations of our choosing.

Ah! I'd entirely misjudged, then. Well, still. It's likely worth laying at least that one on her. And past that....

Well, we don't have to admit that we have a teleporter. There's a simpler way, anyway. We can bring her in, listen to what she has to say, and record the proceedings. We can then provide that record to the appropriate people in Washington... if it benefits us to do so.

At the same time, having Pamela toss a few suggestions at Lois is probably worth doing. We can have her do that first, and then head out for her date with the greenery.

So... take 2. More refined this time.

[x] Plan one to throw away, version 2
-[x] [LL] Welcome Lois to LexCorp tower. Have Pamela greet her, and lead her up to an appropriate meeting room, while giving her a nice gentle dose of pheremones, encouraging her to get comfortable, and encouraging her to doubt Superman just a bit more. If she lets anything slip while she's waiting, that's bonus. Have Lex come down after a little while (long enough for Pamela to do her work) and hear her out on the matter, trying to get as much potentially pertinent information about the situation (and Brainiac) as he can, particularly including any connection to Superman. Record that meeting. Once she's said her piece, allow her to remain in a limited, safe area, as guest of LexCorp, until this all blows over, or be escorted to wherever in the city she might wish to be escorted to. Leave Helena with her in support of this until/unless she's decided to leave and then gotten where she's going.
-[x] [B&B] If the Brain believes that some set of his people would serve well in a direct assault in the middle of the ship, then allow and support this. He knows his people better than you do, and if it's his people, you don't need to care about the chances that it will be a suicide mission. Provide appropriate assistance with targeting. Then, once the superhero assault is well underway, use the Brain's teleporter to teleport kryptonite bombs to try to take out the 3 structures not targeted by supers, one at a time, as the teleporter refreshes.
-[x] [Distribute] Send Caitlyn, Siobhan, and Mari on an assault against the most easily accessible structure. Have fun, destroy a bunch of the enemy, take out the structure if you can, back off if things somehow get too dangerous. Expect a heavy response. Deploy blizzard blanket drones to try to interfere with the enemy's ability to perceive and reinforce, but keep them away from that one target. Otherwise, largely leave forces where they are, unless their particular objective has been cleared. Once Pamela has finished her discussion with Lois, send her, Katherine (still in power armor) and a capable team of LexCorp security (also in power armor) to assault the construction on the outer border of the Park Ridge Borough. The general idea of the mission is that Pamela uses the various nearby plants in an effort to disrupt or destroy it from a distance, while the other serve primarily to protect her. Be willing to back off if things get too dangerous. Send Edward Wells (in a suit) to replace Katherine. Ask Jinx if she can come up with any sort of way to drop a luck-whammy on Brainiac to steal luck from him while boosting our various assaults. If she thinks she can, offer any sort of reasonable resources she might want to make it happen.
