Yeah, Dao sounds right. Usually presented as a more 'viciously' and 'brutal' alternative to the sword in Xianxia. Greater power when it hits, less precision and less defense. It's the weapon of those who want to destroy their opponents more then they want to win fights. Wonder what it says about her.
I'm sure she's a lovely lady when you get to know her?Brutal and unforgiving huh...
Yeah that describes Cai Shenhua alright.
No, this is Lubu time !

You tought a glaive was the perfect thing to get? You tought it was the summit of human perfection to handle a polearm?
But did you tought about dual wielding polearms? After all twice as much perfection can only be better.

[X] Bow
[X] Dual wielded heavy Polearms
Edit: I am actually totally serious. If need be, I would be willing to change my vote for Heavy polearm. But this is a xianxa, so the limitations of dual wielding giant weapons are small compared to the benefit they have. Like for exemple throwing one of our polearm in the face of the ennemy that then gloat about us being defenless and then we kill him/her via our second weapon.
And she still manages to trump most of the other "noble" bratsTo quote @drake_azathoth out of context, at the moment when it comes to grace, dignity and poise Ling Qi is pretty much:

Yes so? I mean the massive implications that her family are literal assassins kinda explains that.I also believe that you are placing too much weight on the nobility of the Jian. Meizhen, Cai, and Sun are all using different weapons than a Jian. Meizhen has a metal whip type thing, Cai has a rapier, and Sun uses a spear. Even Zihao isn't using a jian and he is the son of the Royal Guard's Captain
But don't you want to chuckle over Han Jian teaching us how to handle his JianI came back to the thread and there was a new vote all of the sudden.
Well. Bow is winning which is A+ and while I might have voted for Jian just for the giggles, I gotta say~
[X] Unarmed
Her mother is the "totally-not-a-lesbian" White Cultivator, her grandmother was just the first duchess.Who knows?
For all we know it means that her grandmother the White cultivator used the weapon heavily and made some custom arts for it.
Bow 58
Unarmed 26
Heavy Polearm 11 + Heavy Polearms 7 = 18 (gone down I think? Have some people changed their votes?)
Chinese Halberd/Ji 10 (one of these needs to consolidate with the other. They're similar, but the Ji is a light weapon)
Jian 9 + Sword/Jian 9 +Sword 7 = 25
I would like sword to win, but I would like polearms to win more then unarmed. If you won't switch over this way, maybe you can consolidate?
Didn't @yrsillar suggest Heavy Polearm for the category containing the glaive and halberd and Light Polearm for spears?

Not sure. The Saber and the Sword are closer to each other then the Ji is to a heavy polearm. You might combine Ji with spear? They're both lighter pole weapons.
I'll probably count Halberd and glaive together since there is some overlap there from what I can tell... maybe call it heavy polearm while spear is light?
Indeed he did, or rather he said they'd probably be counted together.Didn't @yrsillar suggest Heavy Polearm for the category containing the glaive and halberd and Light Polearm for spears?

I doubt we're going to get one that sounds too niche to be able to find without looking hard, we're more likely to get a cestus.Alrighty, bow is safe, so I'll just vote for other cool things!
[X] Chain whip
[X] Unarmed
I really wanna be able to use the whip as grapple/extra mobility and just Indiana Jones around, but I also wanna be able to use a blade-glove and I'm pretty sure that falls under unarmed.
Yeah no, only one person actually mentioned Lu Bu as a reason other than the poster you quoted.
But don't you want to chuckle over Han Jian teaching us how to handle his Jian
It''s also another way we could use to connect with him if we learn how to sword with him.
Here's a Ji for those unfamiliar and just going off of 'halberd,' which is inaccurate.
While it's always hard to get perspective without a person holding it, you can figure out size by looking at the shaft, and then realizing the spearhead isn't that big. It's a a really short spear and light axe combined into one weapon, and is very much on the lighter end of weapons. It's not a terrible fit for us, but it's really really far for a heavy chinese halberd.
Edit: Let me clarify. I would very much prefer this over a heavy halberd, which is a brutes weapon.
The ji is an evolution of the ge, or dagger-axe. I imagine what you're thinking of as a "heavy halberd" is shown on the right here, which is another evolution of the same form. That's not really a heavy weapon, at least in comparison to the ji itself. Really, they shouldn't be called halberds since they're much smaller than the later European halberd.

Tonfa, if that helps?
... no?No more like TheLastOne mentioned a common theme in Xianxia and you started ranting about evil Xianxia protagonists and that getting a sword would be making us similar to one in your eyes.
