This is about "Who becomes our roomie" though?
No such thing as an opportunity without risk. If we wanted a quiet life we should have been a farmer.
Look, we're a street tough, forming a gang for protection should be a natural instinct. Especially since we've been told that we're only safe for a month or so.
Them being our roomies will be a sign of a possible alliance.

While it could also result in us receiving some decent backing, I'd rather not take that gamble.

Because if the white haired girl is actually lonely it will mean the friendship they forge is liable to be a true one whereas the red haired girl will continue to dismiss Ling as unimportant until she demonstrate unusual talent, whereupon she will seek to become "friends".
Also her intimidation aura should prove useful for keeping anyone from messing with Ling who in return can buff her in battle, or hit her foes with debuffs which trade duration for potency, and Ling's talent for stealth means it would be wise to aim for a party on the smaller side.

Well for my old readers it's fine to enjoy the recurring stuff, but keep in mind that the setting has been refined and altered a few times since the last round.
Plus you know, it's a fair bit earlier timeline wise. Don't assume too much.
