Personally I do care more about Meizhen. Looking at the more practical/debt side no one has done more for us than Meizhen in general advice, offering of supplements and paying for our medical treatment and this is the one thing she'd asked of us whereas Suyin has required a lot of help even if she's stated that it's not what she's wanted. Also

Considering how reserved she usually is I'd say us picking up on this is a bad sign and so if we can help we should.

Us inviting other people to the vent she would probably interpret as her being useless.

And we are still not good at social.
With 4 successes, more than we should receive currently, we barely prevented a disaster in a far less explosive setting.

I'm not sure why you imply that Su Ling or Li Suyin would have to give up the vent? That's never been a thing, and from the rest of your post it just seems like you decided you don't want to do an action and conjured reasons to support it.

Why would Suyin believe she's useless when chances are with interaction, she'll start speaking with the other group and learning? Particularly when she's showing dedication and determination in training. Also the claim we're not good at social isn't really a thing anymore given we've got manipulation 4, we're yellow/silver, we have some cosmetic enhancements, and our social skills are a mix between poor and average. When you put it all together, we're certainly above average IMO.

Su Ling and Li Suyin also mentioned after they were assaulted that they've let go of their pride when accepting the talisman gifts, and how much both of them want to succeed. If we can arrange for them to given something in exchange, which as the nobles are getting gifts from their family imminently should be rather simple, then it can be benefical for all of them.

The author has also been increasingly been hitting us on the nose with Han Jian's group self worth, and how they are disappointed in their rate of advancement. Thus the revelation and access to the Vent which has benefits for both red and yellow, and has auto successes to Argent Soul, should be valuable for them as it hits right on their concerns. This can thus translate into resources and talismans for Li Suyin and Su Lung to use to fuel their own growth at a faster pace.

Do consider that raising stats doesn't happen nearly that often. 20 progress in attributes will take a long time on incidental training from use.
 
Huh. A 16 and a 40 for spiritual breakthrough, then a 40 and a 17 for physical. Maybe it doesn't interest anybody else, but I think it's an interesting coincidence.

If you look at our Yellow breakthrough there was a 'mystery' bonus to Wind Arts and ranged attack skills that matches the 'mystery' bonus for street rat origin. Put this together with Ling Qi's unusual physical features, (noted in last update that when not starved she's EVEN TALLER), and it starts to look like her mystery bonus might be a Cloud tribe father. A woman pregnant with a Cloud tribe brat would have limited options, do note. But while I like the theory, (I came up with it), it's just a theory.

Well not like Stamina is winning anyways...but we'd still be near the cap of yellow stat wise if we reach 5 before peak. I'm still confident we'd reach 6 though. It's not like I calculated it but I figure our current rate of growth on that is enough.

Maybe. But you must admit - our current Arts are all about AOE debuffs; having an ally to help deal direct single-target damage would be highly helpful.

It was more about them losing their advantage against what they would likely call competition, especially when the four also have the backing of clans. It's an argument that has been made before.
Not to be cruel but it doesn't take much to make Suyin feel useless right now, being corrected in her training did it this chapter. Hopefully if we do get them together our talk with Xiulan will limit any issues though.
I like the points about Li Suyin and Su Ling's resolution to not let pride hold them back though, they'd probably benefit from training against the others. Also your point about Han Jian's sense of self worth taking a blow from our fast advancement. Once again not to be cruel but maybe having others to compare to might be good for him as well? Plus the obvious benefits of training there. If we pull this off we'd arguably be the strongest alliance in our area of the sect right? Though there would be issues regarding Han Jian's leadership, Xiulan, Yu and Fang accept it and I'm not sure how it'd work with one group and the rest of us just being indivuals. We could try and be the other leader but Meizhen is unlikely to agree to that and I wouldn't want her to be alone... Also not sure how great a leader she'd be

If we act like it's canon to an unreasonable degree it may one day become true.

We have done all the getting good we need for the moment. As many have said it is time for some social.
 
Personally I dislike the heritage idea. Even if it'd make an interesting twist. I'm hoping it's something more exciting.

So, the inner sect test being a tournament with very limited spots thoroughly kills the "we don't need dps" thing going around.
