The morality of xianxia is that the freedom and face of the protagonist cannot be impinged on. That's the source of the revenge/protectorate desires; they're all couched in terms of the 'wings'/freedom/'awesome main character doing whatever they want' actions. The revenge/protectorate stuff is the result and not the source.

And the morality of questing...if you seriously believe that most quests do not go wholeheartedly for the complete Western ideal 'murica-style freedom stuff, rather than focusing their moralities another way, then I don't know what you're reading. Voters are very strongly slanted towards being gung-ho about both freedom/face/personal correctness and protection, but the protection of social links always resolves in a way 'acceptable' to let voters continue their belief in their own moral rectitude. Protection as something more than a vehicle to highlight the protagonist's glory—that's what I want. I want protection or revenge or however else you want to phrase it to take center stage, because it's always the sideshow to freedom and protagonist-centered morality. It's always the result rather than the motivation.

Basically, I'd rather Ling Qi be Bai Meizhen than Han Jian. To use a very crude illfitting comparison that really doesn't fit at all.

@No7sHere, current @Alectai vote repeats twice 'if breakthrough fails cultivate physical' which I'm pretty sure is a typo, and doesn't have a cultivate alone action (which is a requirement for any plans).

@yrsillar, when you said " the sixth action must be a personal training action", does only 'Cultivate on your own' qualify, or do any of the low social cultivation actions like breakthrough or cultivating on the vent with Suyin qualify? Because you've treated those as pretty low social commitment before.

Is it bad that I find Huang Da's earnest creepiness sort of refreshing at this point?

No pretenses, no lies, no ambushes. Just genuine, honest creepiness. I can respect that.

And he's just so cheerful! Too many antagonists in this mess of a genre are angsty or only happy when they're beating commoners to death. It's nice to see someone who's genuinely content with life.

Mind, he's still racist and sexist, and I really hope Ling Qi beats him somehow. It's just nice to have someone like him as a villain.

You have got 2 physical cultivations if breakthrough fails
1. If physical fails, a single physical cultivation will probably bring us back to max.
2. Cultivating the same thing twice in one turn has a 50% malus. If silver breakthrough fails we should cultivate physical once, and do something else with the other action and try again next week

Mmmh.

So, I am hesitating to switch my cultivate alone action from Spiritual to FVM, simply because if we fail Silver breakthrough I'm going to cultivate physical with Argent Elexir, so having a FVM action is better in that case.

What are people's thoughts?

The sooner we level up FVM the sooner we know the requirements for the next level of FVM, which might effect our future plans. We'll also learn it's next effect, which might change what art we pick up next. So FVM is a better pick.

The reason QM told us to use this format is because it creates a clear separation in the vote tally software. Since the stat vote is not part of the plan then it needs to be using the same format. namely

After reading about how ineffective the restrictions against maiming and killing are, I can't help but imagine all the Masters with a great big "Days since last incident" sign in their break room.

We've hit yellow, which is the big gap and the next step is twice as far away. We're going to improve AS, and there's a solid chance the early levels of EPC may be quick to train, so delaying spiritual cultivation may just mean we spend less total actions on spiritual cultivation. FVM, by contrast, is our core power.

In terms of getting ahead of the crowd enough that we don't have to constantly look over our shoulder, this is probably a good place to aim.
 
By the way, ususally when we reach a new level, the cost to next level is included. It wasn't this time, so people who haven't checked the front page...

Our core power is actually our cultivation art and levels.
Argent soul gives us rerolls for crying out loud. And auto successes!
And cultivation level also gives us auto successes on top of the above auto successes.

what combat art we use is less important than what our cultivation level is.

Yeah, Strong Enough to Carry is not about lifting others, it about being strong enough that those ties no longer tie US down.

What possible reason could you possibly have for this?

Also, even if you could come up with a reason to not levelup spiritual without EPC, we are at least 6 or 7 training actions from our next spiritual levelup. So by the time we reach that breakthrough we would have EPC.

We can also always just, slow down later. We cannot catch up if we skip too many turns, but slowing down when we are near a breakthrough to widen our scope is always viable.

...Holy fuck. Holy fuck, I can't believe we succeeded in our breakthrough, just like that. Praise the dice gods!

But... damn, poor Suyin. I feel though, like she's picked up some kind of... clarity, somehow? She got badly injured, but she and Su Ling managed to drive off the attackers, and intend to make them pay in the future. I feel like... this is probably just my guilt justifying it, but I feel like if we'd been there, we'd have fed into Suyin's self-loathing since we'd have undoubtedly been doing the most in the fight. But here... She drove off those attackers all by herself (with Su Ling). She's now got the foundation to become our peer rather than our follower. I'm seriously proud of her.

...I still wanna rob the fuck out of those bitches who attacked her though. Once we break through Silver, I wanna break into their houses and loot them to the ground. Then share the spoils with Suyin and Su Ling. Or maybe just investigate them/their houses first, talk to Suyin about it, then time our robbery to occur right when Suyin and Su Ling are having their glorious re-match. Serves them right.
