[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

The moon spirit might be helpful when we're going to be dealing with a distasteful sun spirit

[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

That was a really disappointing match from Shen Hu. Sun won far too easily. And how did Lanhua get overwhelmed so fast? What was that, less than a round?

Shen Hu's dice is much lower than ours by a noticeable amount, and correspondingly, Sun Liling's notably higher than ours. It's not a surprise that the edge we had on him becomes a significant steamroll with yet another edge on top. He did, at least, force Sun Liling to show off her improved arts and her domain weapon.

We are in the middle of Ashfall right now:

Not sure we want to show that it can regen us anyway.

[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

I'd have voted to stay if it weren't Xin calling us. Please give us a dark/moon/wind upgrade to SCS or a better FZ or barring that, advice from a seer. It's weird how fast our peers are relative to us now, and we benefit from first strike a lot.

Ling Qi presumably: "Did you really think it would be that easy?"

Ji Rong: "Y'know, for a second there, I kinda did." *Is eaten by a tangle of worms*
"You know Rong, it really could have gone the other way."

"It really could have, couldn't it?"

"Nah. But why speak ill of the dead?"

"Ling Qi you little street rat! When I get out of this i'll-" *Hentai Worm noises*

See, I'm not entirely sure that we will be able to talk to Xin should we be healed. It's a nice thought, and I think that it is a possibility, but... I'm not sure it would happen.

However, while I would like to see a Meizhen crushing Kang Zihao, I do not want to see a slightly warped Cai trouncing on Xiulan. I just don't think that will be a fun fight to watch and I would rather abscond to the medical wing than to choose who to root for in the fight. I want Xiulan to win, and I want Cai to win, I just don't want the current Cai to win. So, I'm going to go and vote for

[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

To avoid watching that fight.

Ahhh why does this have to happen now? Xin is a really rare SL, but all our friends are in a bad headspace right now. What with CRX eating tyrant waffles, lanlan feeling down with how we didn't come see her right away(and this will be us further not being there for her:cry:), and I don't think Meizhen is doing so hot either.
An alternate why of looking at things is that Snek's aunt just got hit by Cai Shenhua and now she isn't talking to us, and she has to deal with her family that can be a bit frosty at the best of times. Sure it's probably fine, but I still worry you know.

God we are going to be spending so many actions recovering from this mess, but Xin is rare and we kind of ignored her plea to help her husband...

In it's soft yet insistent touch, she could feel the presence of Xin.
It seems like she is calling on LQ tho? I guess she could just be mothering LQ to get healed up but I doubt she would send a signal LQ could recognize just for that.

We are at the point where we want to show off as much as possible before the audiance, and I don't think us being able to heal 1health/turn with Zhengui is going to be a gamechanger against Sun Liling and one she needs to prep against.

Hell, if she does prep against, she is welcomed to cripple her build.

Yeah, we know that Xin is calling Ling Qi, which leads to the possibility that we will talk to Xin.

However, Elder Jiao is in control of the tournament stage, and Xin could very well be in control of transporting people to the hospital rooms. We don't need to go to the hospital room, which is why Xin is letting us know that we could go but is giving us the option.

So while it could be that Xin wants to talk to us, it could very well be just a simple choice where Xin is the transporter. With two possibilities regarding why we feel Xin's qi urging us to go the infirmary, I can't be sure that it is actually Xin wanting to talk to us.

I have to say, this quest some of the hands down best fight scenes that I've read ever. As well as some truly glorious trash talk. :D

So, do we have yet some rough idea on how this will affect Ling Qi's situation in the future? She had already proven long ago that she belongs the Top 10 for this year's disciples, and now managed to fight her way up in the tournament brackets to the level where there are/will be only Monsters from the ducal families left. What kind of prestige are we talking here? I get that how the finals turn will have an impact of course, not to mention how long we last against Sun Liling, but this is already a "pretty good" win for us, correct?

But what about the possibility of Ling Qi actually winning against Su Liling? Well, people with better understanding of mechanics have probably already gone over again and again that, but considering how the IC narrative seems to reflect them pretty well and consistently, yeah, I'm just not seeing that happening. Not unless we pull some "hidden amazing power" -shonen protagonist bullshit straight out of our-
Advantages: High innate talent, 'practical' skills, decent physical and mental abilities, Possible hidden ability?
Hmmm. Okay, I still wouldn't place any bets for winning against that nightmarish fusion of Asura and Cu, but Tournament Arcs are one of the traditional places in the genre to unleash your true hidden potential (...which Xin might be offering to do now?). Well, if there is any to be unleashed in the first place in this case. What is the current guess-work consensus on that by the way?

On the vote, not sure yet. Will decide later after reading more reasoning and analysis by others on that regard.

Again, the "Sun" in Sun Liling has nothing to do with the celestial object, if that is what you are going for intentionally and not making a joke.

If you are making a joke, it's actually pretty funny :D

It really does have some of the best fights!

It's just,

Anyway. Placing higher in the Tourney means that we have a higher initial rank in the Inner Sect 1,000. This is from WoG somewhere but I don't have it on hand, I think its in one of the updates shortly before the Tourney started. This means better resource access and likely a better position in whatever horrible pit Inner Sect politics is. So yeah, this is a pretty good win for us.

(I personally find it a good win because beating on Ji Rong pleases me because I detest his character archetype, and also harbor faint hopes it might shift his course so he doesn't remain a thug)

As for winning against Sun Liling, yeah that's not happening as you surmised. We basically are in the position of having to try Ling Qi's best to win, in order to stall her out so that Meizhen can use that info to defeat her in the final match. Or Cai if the Cai vs Meizhen match swings that way. Abusing a tactical loss for strategic gain.

We do already know what that specialty was, a wind affinity and a *hurk* archery kick. (E: It was speculated to be a Cloud Tribe blood connection, but that has been invalidated with the story of Ling Qi's dad and that her looks are actually pretty common in the Emerald Sea) It is no longer relevant to our scale of combat, though it did shape Ling Qi getting to this point by making us go for "Zone" techniques.

As for the vote there's actually not much super important hanging on it besides that we haven't talked to Xin in a while, and watching Meizhen beat Kang to pulp will be amusing and going to the infirmary means we can avoid awkward feelings when watching Renxiang squish Xiulan. That's the concrete stuff.

Hmm. In that case, I think I'll vote for:
