Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Kind of hard choice. There are no fights we have to see and Xin is important.
Resting means giving up the appearance of not being injured and we don't see Xiulans fight.
But we can't appear to support Xiulan since she is against Cai.

[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

We need an update to the Ji Rong negaverse. Nobody expects the Hentai Worms and Moon Rave combination.
Since we used Qi cards we did not actually show that we know the Crawling Horror technique.
I expect some in the negaverse to blame their loss on not preparing consumables.

A pity Zhengui apparently is not healing us, we should be back to full in like 20 seconds.
I don't think he can do that in, reading closer Eternal Vitality can dispel for Ling but only heal him.

[x] Decline, you can suffer a little pain to support your friends

Friends need us, we should be there for them in this. Especially Gu Xiulan and Cai Renxiang. That is not going to go well.

Hopefully he blames his loss on Yan Renshu and makes trouble for him in the Inner Sect. Ling Qi, suppressing Yan Renshu without doing a thing to him.

We are in the middle of Ashfall right now:
Ashfield Flowering: ooo
cost 8 qi
Usable only while at least one instance of Ashfall is active, this technique consumes the ashfield to revitalize allies. On activation one instance of Ashfall is dispelled, allied targets within the ashfall zone receive a two die bonus to all defensive clashes, resolve, and stamina tests for three turns and have one point of lethal or nonlethal damage healed.

It's not regen, he can break it (Taking it out of the fight) in exchange for a free-action heal and Qi recovery surge.

Ji Rong was literally kitted out specifically to destroy us. If the fight was relatively even and he popped that at the right moment, he could have finished us off.
Um. In what was is that effect specifically aimed to hurt us?

Because, frankly, if LQ was using her typical fighting style, this sort of effect would hardly have mattered. Like, imagine Chu Song being able to get an instant recovery of her Qi + Health anywhere in her fight. The only thing that would have changed is that after ten rounds of her failing to hit us and being drained of Qi, she could fill up and spend another ten rounds while we finished her off.

LQ's normal win condition isn't "the enemy runs out of Health/Qi"; it is "the enemy is sufficiently debuffed that all further clashes go in our favor". Full recovery doesn't really help there. The best effects against Ling Qi would be an instant canceler for debuffs and environmental effects, or perhaps a boost to early attack/defense so that we get knocked down before we really get going or are prevented from getting our hooks in. Health recovery against us is basically pointless, and Qi recovery only marginally less so.

That said, it should be noted that this sort of recovery item is actually pretty great for Ji Rong in other matchups. He uses expensive abilities that burn through his Qi quickly, so the Qi regen here means that he can go all-out without having to worry about conserving Qi, and then keep going even after he runs out. Additionally, his offensive focus means that he is moderately likely to take damage, and again a regen ability means that he can focus on his attacks without worrying about being knocked out due to weak defenses. All in all, the effect gives Ji Rong some serious survivability and makes up for the "a candle that burns twice as bright burns half as long" flaw in his combat style. It just isn't a particularly good fit against Ling Qi in particular.

[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

Go get personal attention from a teacher. Supporting pals is nice, but I don't wanna miss the chance to potentially get slipped some goodies or pointers that could push toward evening the playing field. :V

Ling Qi replied as the shape of the terrain began to solidify around them, they stood at the top of a large hill in a lightly wooded scrubland, the sky bright with the colors of sunset.
Btw can I just say that I found it really funny that the fight took place on a hill during sunset. It is like the most stereotypical place to have duel I can think of. :lol

Renxiang's re-programming's shining through, worrying. Liling's as scary as ever.

Nice to see LQ channel Meizhen in dealing with Rong. Always amusing to see, especially when she's named bestie. Interesting to see the two read each other so well too and Meizhen being called out as the sadistic (but lovable) monster that she is. Nice fight but it seems pretty clear this'll be our last win...

[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

Besides the reasons others have mentioned, this also makes it more likely that we'll be healed for whatever goes on this evening.

[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

Listening to Xin seems like a good idea. Also a chance to see Shen Hu's abs if he's shirtless in the infirmary, so at least Ling Qi still has something worth watching besides the matches.

It's a type-advantage evidently. Spirits and elements that draw from the earth get heavily interdicted by powers that greedily plunder the strength of the earth for their own glory.

It was the equivilant of a Level 20 Sandshrew fighting a Level 22 Ivysaur. Even if on paper their levels are close, that matchup's only going one way.
I wonder how that will interact with Zhengui and hoarfrost based powers
