Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Huh. A bit frustrating to see how many weird choices Ling Qi made during the fight (using DWV before GCD, which means that DWV was not used the same turn she used worms. Using the worms twice, which meant Ji Rong didn't get oneshot that turn). Still, a win is a win, even if it turns an easy fight into a difficult one.

EDIT: editing vote because Xin
A pity Zhengui apparently is not healing us, we should be back to full in like 20 seconds.

We need an update to the Ji Rong negaverse. Nobody expects the Hentai Worms and Moon Rave combination.

He saw every tentacle doujin. At once. He's traumatized for life. :V

Free healing should never be passed up. Plus, Xin might have some free insights into Sun Liling's newly revealed bullshit and how to mitigate it or mitigate the damage done to us. We're gonna get rekt, more than likely, but we can make sure she doesn't outright cripple us for a while.

[x] Decline, you can suffer a little pain to support your friends

Doomed tomorrow anyway, might as well be there for Gu Xiulan.

Moon mom or watching Meizhen eat Kang?

[X] Accept and allow yourself to be taken to the infirmary

Moon mom, of course.

While it would be satisfying to watch Kang get wrecked, it would be equally satisfying to have tea with Meizhen and listen to her utterly dismissive recounting of the fight.

Are there any consumables we could buy to boost initiative? We used to win initiative every time. It's disconcerting to see everybody else catching up. I guess we haven't focused on it with our recent techniques. If we're just losing because everybody else is hopped up on cultivator meth in anticipation of the big fight then we need to close the drug gap.

That was a really disappointing match from Shen Hu. Sun won far too easily. And how did Lanhua get overwhelmed so fast? What was that, less than a round?

Honestly this isn't doing great things for my SoD. I'm actually finding Sun less impressive after this. She's meant to be a step above us in green and a rough match for Meizhen, so this should have been a fight Sun would win but have to put some effort into. Instead she stomped Shen Hu into his own mudfield like she and her spirit were two or three steps above him. It feels more like she got a supercharging for the tournament from granddad (not out of the question given they've been note for berserker type medicines) than anything else. And Shenhua's also rigged up a Cai bot for the next match, because why bother showing what your actual child could do?

She's just so good compared to how I read her supposed level that it doesn't actually feel impressive.

It's like, even if you're dukes and duchesses, sending ringers and simulacra into matches isn't actually that impressive, guys. Like when Sixang got her boost from her grandmother to protect herself. It's great that you can do it but the tournament is supposed to be about impressing me with what your heirs can do.

If that's the level of combat here I don't think there's much left to learn by watching. Let's heal up in preparation for our beating.

It is kinda sad that the best case scenario with CRX is that she is simply traumatized by her mothers loving attention...

Worst case is that our Overlord decided to modify CRX along side the dress.

We're getting the free healing either way. It's just the timing that's in question.

I for one prefer to pretend like our injuries are unimportant, and give support to our friends.

It's a type-advantage evidently. Spirits and elements that draw from the earth get heavily interdicted by powers that greedily plunder the strength of the earth for their own glory.

It was the equivilant of a Level 20 Sandshrew fighting a Level 22 Ivysaur. Even if on paper their levels are close, that matchup's only going one way.

We do know that CRX is fitted to Liming, and it's not Liming that's fitted to CRX. So obviously if Shenhua modified Liming CRX needs to be adjusted again.

So am I misunderstanding the choice?

I figure Ling Qi can report to the infirmary and get the same healing after the matches, but folks are commenting she would be "passing up" healing by not going now.

This basically. The Sect can't send us in to the Liling fight at less than our peak, given that doing so insults Ling Qi and more importantly Sun Liling.

Going by our fight with Ji Rong, which took place over five to seven rounds, its more like eight for him and then two minutes after that.

And we already know what the super charge she got was, the next step in her Asura art, from her interlude.

I like to see that sort of thing as reflecting that Ling Qi does not know how to mixmax the combat system since she can't see the dice rolls. It makes sense for her to work out her own efficient combat style with experience.

I truly hope that our turtle little bro don't suffer a case of roots. Maybe use him only as support from afar? (Still their enemy can throw that dawn spear).

That was so good. So in four hits he broke out nose, burned out stomach and broke our arm, I wonder how many more am we could have tanked?

It did sound very exhausting for him though, with him dropping in a 'moment', and that's with the regen active of his weapon. Not surprising of course.

As for choice, don't want to blow off Xin, let's say hi. Shame about the Kang match but I'm sure Meizhen will enjoy explaining it to us in explicit detail.

Edit: also, from Zhengui feeling angry and helpless there I find it very likely he'll get some more dedicated ally defence arts in Green, here's hoping.

It's not regen, he can break it (Taking it out of the fight) in exchange for a free-action heal and Qi recovery surge.

Ji Rong was literally kitted out specifically to destroy us. If the fight was relatively even and he popped that at the right moment, he could have finished us off.

Just that we were too tanky for that to be enough. Even in spite of him hurling stupid amounts of Perfect Damage out.

Yeah, that is fair. It's just that some of the choices are a bit surprising. I mean, if you are going to summon worms, why use the defensive tech giving dice to allies /before/ the worms arrive, and not use the defensive tech that's much stronger for Ling Qi herself instead? DWV should have been used when using the worms, not before. I can see Ling Qi not understanding how Encircling Wind was basically a game over for Ji Rong because it can be counter-intuitive, though.

While being tken to the infirmary DOES make us look weaker i voted to go for these reasons:

1. Possible interaction scene with Xin and Xin is absolutely awesome.
2. If we are not around to see I suspect that Meizhen will be unleashed PROPERLY unto KZ and that dude has it coming.
3. We already saw the match of our opponent and we dont need the rest of the matches to have a battle plan.
4. No risk of Meizhen losing companion points with us if she chooses the renegade option in front of us. Poor girl was terriefied we would drop her if we found out how cruel, vengeful and sadistic she truely is.
5. No having to cheer for our liege beating our friend.

So basically we pay a bit of social face for security and dodgeing some awkward social interaction.

Yes what I meant by regen active, one off recovery :)

Damn I wanna hear reactions from this, was so good. Literal facetanking.

I doubt that, actually. If type advantages were a thing we should have heard about them by now, but there is no indication in the current gaming system that i know of that certain elements beat certain other elements. Must have been some sort of special technique of Sunflower Demons that makes Earth spirits their bitch.

If type advantages are actually a thing i want Zengui to have an advantage over Dhartiri. Fire and Wood beats Wood after all.
