Now as to who to check up on. I'm conflicted. We know that Bei Meizhen was in a fight, but we don't know what is going on with Li Suyin. With that in mind, I would have to change my rationale to voting for Bei Meizhen. I have hope that both Li Suyin and Su Ling were able to get out of the fighting area just fine, and perhaps this will be the catalyst that Li Suyin needs to realize that she is not an anchor and that she can hold her own against other disciples. Therefore, I would go with visiting Bei Meizhen to make sure that she won her fight and that she is ok. Both are really good choices though.

Bai Meizhen is much, much safer than Li Suyin and Su Ling. Those two might need to be healed or helped. Moreover we have gifts for them, and it's important to trigger the confrontation with Gu Xiulan if we want to get her group to the Argent Vent.

Not sure why people would think Meizhen is safer, we know she was in a tough fight. For all we know Suyin and Su Ling found somewhere to hide and avoid everyone.

Well we still dont know if Bai Meizhen actually won and there is still the small question if we still got a house to come back to, considering that Sun Liling apparently attacked it.

Because Ling Qi herself thought that even if she lost she wouldn't be in trouble. She is just too much stronger compared to other people around. As for wounds/etc, she certainly has ways to quickly heal herself.

It's not like we won't have that question answered regardless. Whether Li Suyin and Su Ling are wounded or are bathing in the blood of their opponents, though, feels rather more urgent.

Ling Qi doesn't know whether Meizhen would win and the earlier quote sounds more like she was trying to reassure herself as she stuck to her original plan.

To be honest we baby Suyin far too much and she doesn't even want us to. She wants to grow on her own and not seem like a weight hanging over us. Meizhen on the other hand we live with, we were each others first friends and we barely even talk to her. Left her in a fight against a strong opponent who if it came down to it (though it would be out of character) could also call on help from her powerful followers. We need to start remembering people other than Suyin.
 
Given that we know higher cultivation fights take longer, I wonder if the fight is still ongoing, and we can intervene in the fight to help Meizhen win it if we go there next. Unlike others, I do think Liling probably has the edge in winning given her focus on combat. With both of them slightly worn down due to the combat thus far, our intervention could make a difference (rather than accounted for from the very start).

That'd be cool. With our new gear too, we can easily use FVM to help Meizhen. ATW isn't as helpful against a single opponent IMO, and Meizhen apparently doesn't use projectiles anyway. For that matter, just delivering a Wellspring Pill to Meizhen could probably help.

It was in reference to this yeah. Ling Qi is confident Meizhen is in no danger. The "celebrating her victory" thing is me being optimistic.

I think the dangers for Lu Sing and Li Suyin are much greater than Bai Meizhen, and Li Suyin is in a very critical moment of her character growth, while Bai isn't.

Now, is it possible that she'll be pissed or feel even more as a weight by us coming at the tail end of fights to congratulate her on her win/heal if if she and Su Ling got beat? very much possible. I just don't think it's as likely as it to be helping her. "She needs space" can sometimes be a solution, but it often is the opposite.

Not sure I agree with that. Li Suyin as mousey and generally pleasant as she is, is unlikely to have many enemies that would go beyond possibly beating her up and taking her pills. Su Ling is kind of abrasive but she's also a bit of an unknown since she doesn't attend lectures. Meizhen is part of a large and unliked family, if anyone would have enemies it'd be her and when better to target her than when she's weak from a loss? With her lack of allies I'd imagine both people with grudges against her family and those who personally dislike her attitude would target her if she loses.
I dunno, space can sometimes hurt more than help but hovering is just plain uncomfortable.

Because they aren't strong enough to do so, or aren't insane? She'll come back for them, after all. Moreover, Cui is apparently a Yellow Spirit Beast that's equal in combat power to Green.

Yes it's why I'm acknowledging the possibility. I don't think we'd be hovering, there, considering we actually didn't go and see her since she lost the contest. So I think the risks are low, while the possibility she thinks we threw her aside now that she proved she was weak is the kind of runt she could put herself in. Well, probably not. Still, I don't think she needs space right now, and I think Bai Meizhen is completely safe.

However, I am pretty sure Bai would probably really like us being around. There is a possibility she lost and would be ashamed of us seeing her right now, sure, but it's pretty low.

Yeah, right now I'm fine with either one being the winner in this case. If we go see Li Suyin then we can see how she is and how she reacts to us after a possible conflict without us there. If we go see Bei Meizhen we can see how she is after her fight and potentially become even better friends and roommates. I don't think either option is the looser here.
