Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

I'm in favor of scouting, but we should still be careful. Yan Renshu is probably in there, for starters. I don't want to plunge into the heart of the fortress. The plan may say "invincible" but you should never believe your own propaganda.

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Music upgrade so good (what do you think the odds are that Xiulan has a similar "cultivation level" bonus around fire?)

Special Element, Music unlocked. Music based arts are no longer affected by sound based defences or deafness as long as at least one meridian is attuned to Music.

Specialty II Woodwind Instruments, unlocked. When using your specialty you are treated as being one cultivation level higher in clashes.

And the FVM upgrades! Holy shit. AoE Diapason. Auto-cast. Single target buff to Elegy. Sound attacks.

This is fantastic. Also, now we can be a proper music cultivator!

And AE has such fantastic synergy with FVM. Now we're starting to get a nice looking build.

But enough about arts. A fantastic update all round. Zeqing in particular was great, and Xin continues to be awesome. Such a pity we couldn't see more of her. I wonder how we'll see more of Zeqing now that we've capped FVM for the moment? Will she be a minor?

- no "continue studying formations in the shaman's book" action? Not saying it's a good idea this week but it should be there.
-- when we do get to it we should pick up proper formation writing/etching tools (if they're a thing)
-- also give Suyin that fancy pen we found in YR's desk already.
1) i think LI Suyin minor is the cap on that questline. We'll probably get a SL upgrade and the opportunity to continue on those formations (if we don't get it directly)
2) absolutely, sadly the Shop hasn't been updated with any so far
3) she'll need to feel she's done something for Ling Qi before being able to recieve an other gift. And no book translation doesn't count as she's getting the formations out of it, and just asked a favor too.
- Jiao is like "getting tired of your shit Ling Qi", what with how Xin keeps paying more attention to us than him.
I think he's more of a big grumpy teddy bear than really annoyed.
- Ling Qi's issues with being touched seem to be building up to something.
-- seems to tie in with Zeqing and letters to mom. No idea where it's going though.
If this were a real grim universe i'd bet it was (multiple) rapes. As it is, maybe "just" getting beat up by "friends".
If your hoping that trading AM will result in Gu getting it, I think it's wishful thinking.

He can't just give it to her for the same reason we can't. She'd take it as pity and get upset.
Have Xiulan trade AC for Han's AS -> have Ling Qi trade AM for Xiulan's AS.

I have a plan for that, actually. We say we want the right to train an additional person in AS, so we have to give Han Jian the right to train an additional person in AM. We agree that the person he can train is Gu, because we trust her.

It might work.

[X] Plan: Surprise! I'm secretly invincible!

Pills and Majors look alright and it starts the process of determining if CRX would be a good boss or not.

Have Xiulan trade AC for Han's AS -> have Ling Qi trade AM for Xiulan's AS.

He already traded her for AC. it would be rather odd to trade it twice.

Have Xiulan trade AC for Han's AS -> have Ling Qi trade AM for Xiulan's AS.

This doesn't work. There is only one slip.

The person with the slip can let another person learn from it, but this second person can't teach it herself. Nor unless she makes a new slip/Teaches it directly, which is something that requires considerable effort and can only be done after mastering the art.

Do you have a quote? because i really don't remember that. What did he trade her anyway ?

Same thing.
And even IF it's an issue we just need to have Xiulan take the AC slip with her for trading with Han's slip. Hardly an issue at all.

The point will still be the combat clash with the spirits.

The point of the mission is to defend her when and after she does her suplication ceremony, being sneaky about it doesn't really help since it's not Ling Qi but Li Suyin that's the target here.

Honestly it's the equivalent to saying we could train stealth by being sneaky when we go have tea with her...

I'll go with:
[X] Plan: Surprise! I'm secretly invincible!
I much rather go with CRX instead of double SuSu. (+ meizhen and AS trade)
One issue though: without an Argent Art we're missing the vent bonus:

changing TRF or FZ to AM or AC would be best.

We still get the Argent Art drip to AM.

And even IF it's an issue we just need to have Xiulan take the AC slip with her for trading with Han's slip. Hardly an issue at all.

No, it is an issue.

If you teach an art to someone, you are teaching the art only to that someone, not to anybody else.

If we teach Han Jian AM, we certainly won't let him the slip so he teaches it to anybody he wants. We only let him the slip until he can train for himself, then take the slip back.

In the same way, if Han Jian teaches AS to Xiulan, that doesn't mean Xiulan can teach AS to us.

(Not to mention how unnapropiate the whole thing would be)

The reason he wanted to trade for mirror is because he can get current from gu.

"It's a body reinforcement art," Han Jian said after a moment of consideration. "I won't trade for Current. I would rather speak with Xiulan about that, if you don't mind."

That was week 43. We are now moving moving into week 45.

Technically, I suppose he could have sat on it for two weeks, but I doubt it.

If he doesn't pass it to Gu, there isnt a lot of point to the trade. Thunder is a body reinforcement art ideal for han and fang, both of which are melee combatants.

Unless your gambling on the idea that they all form some larger art, which is potentially possible, but requires we get all the arts.

Edit: mistype on the week. it was on 29, we're going on 31

Yes but I don't see AM in your plan:
[X] Plan: Surprise! I'm secretly invincible!
-[X] Resources: Clear Wind Pill, Vigorous Sapling Pill, White Hart Elixir, Second Level Wood Pill 1 YSS, 3 RSS (Total Cost: 29 RSS)
-[X] EPC Bonus Successes: Eight Phase Ceremony
-[X] Spend time working with Zhengui to express his abilities
-[X] Train at the vent with Su Ling
--[X] Thousand Ring Fortress
-[X] Train with Meizhen
--[X] Eight Phase Ceremony
--[X] Minor: You need to speak with Meizhen, about Cai's offer and the future in general
-[X] Train with the Golden Fields Group
--[X] Fleeting Zephyr
--[X] Minor: Trade techniques with Han Jian, you can help each other work out the basics.
-[X] Scout out Sun Liling's base of operations
-[X] Minor: Go on a trip to the spiders nest with Li Suyin
-[X] Minor: Find the time for a chat with Guangli, even if he is biased, he's probably the one who knows Cai best
-[X] Minor: Spend some time around Cai Renxiang, what does she actually do all day

No, it is an issue.

How is that more inappropriate than Han trying to get two Argent Arts for his single one ? At least with my circular trading Xiulan does (and Ling Qi) get both arts. And I like Xiulan much more than Han.
Though if you have quote of your take of how the slip thing works i'm still interested.
And an argument on how Xiulan trading the AC slip for Han's AS slip is not viable is also interesting.

The reason he wanted to trade for mirror is because he can get current from gu.
Even ignoring how we didn't see any mention of it even though we spent two weeks training with both Han and Xiulan, if Xiulan has AS then we should be able to trade AM for it, both getting the benefit from the AS art and have Xiulan get a (probably) needed mental stabilization Art too.

I chose TRF and AM over FZ because both will require dedicated actions to cap it (and one doesn't benefit from 8fold) and we're getting to the point where they'll take up another meridian. I want to know what meridians we need to have opened BEFORE we do our meridian week (Highsun with meridians). I'm also hopeful that if FZ requires another meridian for FZ4, training it on a Skyblood week will give us enough overflow to open that meridian, which would save an action.
Won't work - we won't have any overflow for FZ because we'll have the spare heart meridians for FZ4 (just not to equip it).

So yeah, meridian week 32 is good - and if we don't do a job this week, we should do it next.

That sets up for Eightfold week 33, and we'll have the meridians to equip everything.

Nice of @yrsillar to let us get that spine meridian with overflow... It is kind of gaming the system tbh given that it allows us to essentially remove the risk from meridian opening actions. I'd be tempted to suggest that the mechanics should really be modified there so that if we are allowed to do this, we should have to do something like "gamble" the overflow. So if, say, we don't get enough overflow on the art we specified to open the meridian we lose it instead of being able to just send it on to qi regardless. That way there'd still be some risk.

So, does anyone know when the qi recharge for AE actually occurs?

@yrsillar does it occur when an enemy receives a wound to their health or does it occur when an enemy gets damaged by an attack?

Yes but I don't see AM in your plan
Doesn't matter. That's why Vent is so powerful - we get the autos regardless. We've been doing that for months.

Yeah, if it just requires qi drain then that is some ridiculous synergy with FVM.

Ling Qi only rarely comments on arts the others use while training. assuming there would be an exception just because it's convenient for your plot of giving Gu AM seems like folly.

Because the thing is that slips aren't traded away. What is traded away is the right to use of the slip, only until the receiver is capable of keep training in their own. Nothing more.

Therefore, you can't trade an slip for another slip, and then give your new slip to another person.

Chained trades are impossible because there is only one slip.

Okay, nvm then. Seemed to me that we got the bonus to arts we were training.

On the contrairy, considering the last couple of updates had the Minor on trading AS it seems like a pretty reasonable assumption that Ling Qi would actually notice said Art being used in training.
Just like irl when you want to buy a specific dress you will notice someone else wearing it.

Therefore, you can trade an slip for another slip, and then give your new slip to another person.
Why, thank you for agreeing with my point.

No, you misunderstand, we don't need to be Cultivating an Argent Technique to get the drip, we just have to have one learned that we haven't mastered yet, and then use the Vent.

And yet, if you only go by what we see during training, you'd think han hasn't added anything in twenty weeks.

Seriously. this is wishful thinking.
