Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Not at all. We were already planning it without any more meridians. Having 1 or not doesn't really matter. We have the meridians needed to train AC3 anyway (though not to equip it) so we won't be blocked there.
Cool deals.

Well since no one has exactly what I want, I'll just make my own!

Behold!

[X] Plan I have a Dream! And I wish to share!
-[X] 3 RS, 1 YS, 1st and 2nd level wood pills (8), 1 rippling lake pill (2), 1 stalwart mountain pill (2), 1 2nd level lake pill (6), 1 2nd level Mountain pill (6), total (1 YS, 27 RS)
-[X] Spend time working with Zhengui to express his abilities
--[X] Xuan Shi seems pretty knowledgable, see if he can help you out with Zhengui's abilities.
-[X] Train with Elder jiao (LOCKED)
--[X] Larceny / SCS
--[X] Investigation / AM
-[X] Train at the vent with Meizhen
--[X] TRF
-[X] Take a Mission
--[X] Capture the Storm Spirits
-[X] Search out Yan Renshu's main base, before he has time to pick up and move
-[X] Gu Xiulan apparently returned in the dead of night without saying anything to anyone. What happened to her?
-[X] Working with Li Suyin again has been fun, continue working through the manual

Yay! I made a plan in FoD! I'm so excited!

...huh, I thought you had to have the meridians free to even learn it

Nope.

You can freely change what Arts are in what Meridians during weekly turns, you just can't equip them all at the same time.

As long as you have the Meridians the Art uses period, you can train it. You only come to a hard stop if it demands more Meridians in a slot than you actually have.

Things get hectic when you're mid-event. You can change your Arts only if they share the Elements that you already have equipped.

-> no Han Jian
->no vote from me

Basically, unless you have a minor for him, you're not gonna win since people really really don't want that SL to decay

Would all Argent Arts get +5 auto when cultivated on Argent Vents?

Do we need to look for a better Vent for higher bonuses?

Also, @yrsillar, Ling Qi didn't find any better knives on the market this turn?

Shop's being updated tomorrow.

Also, we're flush with cash now, might be worth splurging some of it to get something nice. Like commissioning a really good set of knives.

Seriously, we have so much money now compared to what we used to have. We could actually exchange it for a Green Spirit Stone!

Li Suyin: "Uh, Ling Qi? Not like I'd question your munifience... But why did you get a Green Spirit Stone?"

Ling Qi: "Just to hold it, the idea of so much wealth in a single place is something both terrifying and strangely therapeutic."

It depends on what he did there. If he blocked that on his own spur-of-the-moment power? Yeah, that is damned impressive.
But I kinda suspect that he triggered a defensive formation disk or something like that; a consumable he prepared beforehand.

The truth is, item-type opponents are indeed terrifying terrifying to fight. Not only can they often punch above their weight class, but they also tend to have a number of surprises up their sleeves. As they say in Worm, "Tinkers are Bullshit".

The problem, of course, is that such a fighting style comes with a whole lot of drawbacks. Making useful items may require rare and valuable regents, expensive equipment, and of course plenty of time. Furthermore, single-use items naturally need to be replaced on use, and even longer-lasting equipment has a chance of being stolen or destroyed. That is time and resources that your peers could be using to get ahead, and that you need to use merely to maintain your combat capacity. Furthermore, in a protracted battle/campaign, you may not have the chance to replenish your stocks, which means that your combat endurance is capped by whatever you prepared beforehand.

Just something to chew on, now that Ling Qi is thinking of picking up the bone-construct technique.
Hmm good point.

I wonder...
Xuan Shi for his part, looked utterly unscathed as the dome of rock around him crumbled, but Ling Qi thought his qi seemed to be quite depleted.

Okay so this is Xuan right after Red Thorn. His qi being depleted sounds to me like it was a trump card spur of them moment tech that he used, but that depletion could have simply been from fighting Ji Rong.

The other impressive person here was Gan Guangli. He wasn't felled by that and seemed to just tank it like a boss. But that's for a different discussion.

Anyway, yeah it looks like it could be either. Both are impressive for different reasons.

So, speaking of a bone army that we create and deploy on the site of a conflict... we should totally make it so that they keep getting back up.

It will be complicated and extremely difficult, but what if we create a bone solider where the moment you destroy one of the bones, it reforms into a different shape or creature that doesn't require the destroyed bone.

If we do that, a person would have to destroy each individual bone before the construct would stay down, and if the purpose of these constructs is to delay and waste the opponent's energy, then this is the best way to do that.

Or we could take an art that has ash constructs, that could do that. An art that we already know about and could get to (almost) rank 4 with just two actions.

Hmm, we do have the Crimsonwing Condor Core that we can commit to our super bow project too.

We might be able to get a Heaven Core too from the Storm taming mission.

Ash constructs take Qi, probably count as one attacker like dissonance for the purposes of Encircling Wind, and are much more temporary.

They thus fail the cut for me, mostly because of the one attacker thing.

A reforming bone construct would take lots of Qi too. But why get an art that has elements we already have, when we might get one that has rare elements we don't have. :V

Also, we probably wouldn't get it. Assuming it requires the same xp as FSA, we'd need 125 successes to hit ASA4. On average, using all our pills, we would expect ~111 successes over the two turns.
I was rounding up...

The Shaman couldn't do this, and Ling Qi isn't going to design new arts/formations any time soon. Certainly not of this complexity.

The whole point of making puppets is that is not actually an art, but a crafting technique, so it doesn't need meridians nor Qi, only spending time making the constructs in themselves.

You know, I really hope that the Sect gives members who are going to end up in command of its military forces War training. To do otherwise seems to be an accident waiting to happen.

Let us not use a heaven core for the bow. Being able to use Wind Qi reduction when we use the bow is of significantly better use than keeping it Heaven. It still works for FSA, but it would also make most of the FZ cost trivials when using our bow.

As for talismans, I am mostly interested in both a nice set of knives as well as spending a couple hundred on improving blizzard pin. Well, maybe less than 100 is enough to get it +3 dice and +2 Qi reduction, and that would be of significant use.
