Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

I like FSA, but for right now SCS and FVM are our bread and butter. Everything else is a supplement.

Though it would be really cool to get a fire based music art.
Thing is that leveling SCS is 3 or 4 actions, leveling FSA is one action. And FSA procs the meadow.

We got FSA from the first floor, right?

Because if those were first floor it might be worth swinging by to use the pass and look for stuff that gets our new buddy's bonus, with a fallback of grabbing Ashen Shadow if we don't see anything we like.

Um. Between the curse and our adorable new Pokemon draining our Qi, is this going to be a pretty dangerous time for us?

He's took weak to help out and we have less Qi, and the amount he requires will grow as he does, so...
The curse doesn't actually drain Qi. We do lose Qi if we want to dispel the curse temporarily, but the curse is puny enough that we typically wouldn't want to do that.

As far as Lil Turtle goes, -10 qi is a bit painful, especially when we gain basically nothing applicable, but it can hardly be called "dangerous". We still have 37 Qi, after all. For reference, 37 qi is just under what we had during the Serpent's Treasure and Moonfill events, and we didn't particularly suffer from lack of Qi there.

Plus, you know, it's a lot of Qi spending, but it'll decline as we raise our relationship.

And he's a super high ranked spirit beast. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd naturally reach Grade 6 at his full growth, and possibly grade 7 or 8 with good training too.

Hmm... I can't wait to see our turtle in a fight!, I also can't wait for the turtle to get to the second level so that we can communicate easier with it and see what it likes and what personality it has.

So speaking of fights and things of that nature, any ideas on where we would want the turtle? I'm guessing in front of us, to soak up damage and take attention away from us, but if he has more powerful offensive spells than defensive spells it might be better to keep him to our side so that he can just coat the FVM area with fire.

Yeah, that was already going to be on my plan.

Ooooh, a thought occurs to me. We have infinite first floor passes. We could swing by the Archives and see what is there in the way of Fire or Wood musical arts.

I wonder if FVM is compatible with other musical arts? IE, does using a technique from another musical art count as stopping the melody?

For those worrying about money. We currently have 109 RSS worth, and spend 12 on stones each turn. We will also want to get Soul Concentrating Elixir + Flowing Rivers Pill + Gushing Spring Pill while we practice Spiritual + FVM, so that is 8+6+2=16 more stones, for a total of 28.

In summary, we can afford to put off any sort of income action for a couple of turns, though we'd want to start getting to it soonish.

Unfortunately, that is probably the case. If we take any action other than sustaining the melody, the timer starts ticking on when the melody stops. A different melody being played would cause a different effect than what FVM causes, so I think it would be considered stopping the melody.

It's far better than if he was her type because if Ling Qi visibly ran into some rando's arms after turning down Meizhen I'm pretty sure tables would be flipped both in-game and out-of-game.

Yeah, I did think of that, but I didn't feel like I should bring it up, since it's a moot point anyway. Ling Qi isn't really...mmmm...ready for romantic relationships? She's still relearning this whole friendship thing and building her support networks. Which just took a big hit, since Bai is a whole third of it by herself (compared to the vent duo, and Gu + rest of golden fields), and arguably the most important third.

For minors, I think Gu, Han Jian, and Cai are locked in. I don't think any of the others are super important, and would be willing to go for that elder training action, but I have a slight preference for talking to Xuan, or talking to Gan (since it might be good to know what's going on with Cai, particularly if Han Jian is planning something. I don't think he's panning to challenge CRX, but it lets us have a better picture of the political situation).

Hmm, I can't see it not.

Baby Xuanwu is fucking adorable.
We should probably look for a fire or wood art some time in the near future.
Maybe a mantle type fire or a defensive wood (eh)?

Baby Xuanwu is fucking adorable.

Also @yrsillar I love the writing on these updates. Top notch stuff. Taking your time really does show in the quality.

I want to ride him like a DOOM Tank.

Ah, the size he could be once he reaches the third or fourth realms. None can stand in his path as we cackle gleefully on top of our most impressive mount!

On another, more serious note, all my calculations regarding Qi cultivation are going to be wrong because of the different requirement for getting to peak. We will have to take some actions to cultivate qi, unfortunately. We might be able to squeak by with the Sable pill week, but that would be pushing it. The other option is to direct overflow to qi and just let the overflow of some of our actions offset the qi we will need.

Really hope he's not thinking to challenge CRX because she'd WRECK him. I don't think she'd need any backup to reliably beat down the entire Golden Fields crew at once, and CRX + Gan Guangli vs the Golden Fields group is a stomp in CRX's favor.

Remember when we speculating on which character mapped to which start?

CRX is the secret new game + start: Resources out the wazoo, high natural talent, potent family arts, strong starting position.

So I'm getting kind of concerned that our primary defense is hiding in the shadows... and primary offense involves turning on a flashlight.
Primary LR offense is more like a particle cannon. As long as we keep moving the sudden flashes don't give enough information to actually target us.

Our primary offense is also pretty devastating when we shoot from the shadows as well.

Part of the problem is just that most of the fights we get into don't really allow us to really fight like a guerilla.

Given that we need quite a few more arts and meridians to comfortably being able to say that we are ready to advance, I am not too worried.
Ideally I would want us to upgrade our Argent Soul to Argent Genesis first as well.

My particular take on this is that the shadows are deepest when there is a source of light. FSA is a great long range sniping tool as well as an excellent finisher art once FVM is set up and slowly chipping away at a person. We don't have the nightmare build that I talked about during the Art argument debacle, but with FSA providing long range damage and support with FVM providing mid/close range support and defense, hurting us and beating us becomes a tricky endeavor.
