I'm not sure what you're question marking over.
Ah that's right, this was the feeling. Pure purpose.
[Finally! See, it's all you.]
A mountain rose in the way, solid dark rocks stretching out to pluck Koujirou from the sky.
Koujirou unsheathed Murakumo and swung once, the thrusters on the rear of the blade pushing him back into an ascending course, correcting his spin and cutting a path through the ridgeline in a single motion.
It was only in these moments where the clunky electronic middlemen of operating systems and hardcoded reactionary instructions were more hindrance than aid. Koujirou could feel Kandakara, every component, everything.
And a strange… warmth.
[Hey, when you're like this, surely- can you hear me?]
So Koujirou bypassed the electronic interfaces entirely, again taking direct control of each component. Understanding every mechanism, process and reaction, then directing them. The mental strain was enormous, but that was fine, there was only the goal, no other thoughts required. Control, precise and instantaneous beyond that of even fly by light.
[Hey-]
Koujirou shifted himself upwards, smoothly curving his spine and lifting himself back onto course, his outer Impeller flowing like liquid steel to make minute adjustments as he moved.
[C'mon-]
Shhh. Not now. First we reach the goal.
[So when you're not accidentally obtuse, you're deliberately- Hmph!]
The warmth faded away, but there was no room for regret for the goal had been reached.
He'd watched and rewatched the combat simulations that he'd had against Shuri and that one match against Anna. Those movements in the last few moments against Anna. The one time he'd managed to finally engage Shuri in a melee joust. The emptiness he'd felt. The manner that Kandakara moved. The speed, the grace, the elegance of efficiency.
A flash of white lightning searching for the heart of a titanic black thundercloud. A silver arrow searching for chinks in a tower of gold.
He couldn't remember those moments clearly, only impressions and flashes, like his mind was simply not able to process his actions during those episodes of competence. That had not been him moving, surely. There was no way that he could have been able to pull off those techniques, that clarity of action. Maybe a combat assistance feature built into Kandakara then.
up to and including the keep-me-alive-and-still-human parts. Which is sad.
That stands for Voluntary Death by Dehydration.
Let me tell you, that's not a fun thing to look up.
Let's see the next update first.I think we stick to what we did last time, 75% Wave Force (We'll need 105~ days - bonuses we get), 25% Target Rich (26 days - bonuses we get)
I... don't think that's a popularly held theory?Could someone link me to the place where Anna's mom being in Durga is revealed?
Blinks. Oh, That's what was happening.I... don't think that's a popularly held theory?
Durga's got a bunch of records about her and acts on them, but that's it.
I think our teammates might benefit from us taking up Shuri's attention. Yukari recounted how Shuri was driving them to the edge of endurance.Wave Force continues to be seriously fatiguing, and depending on how the current vote's working out we might want to drop back to 50% Wave Force, 25% Target Rich Environment, 25% Advanced Impeller.
Shuri: git gud scrubsWhich neatly explains what happened to wimpy Koijirou. Shuri forced him to become an effective Valkyrie cadet.
Reminder that Anna is high enough in the totempole to access the ranking (and hack the rest). But better than Shuri? That would put her… actually thinking about, Shuri never did make her combat rating or 300 rank public after officially enlisting in the United Nations Valkyries. From the rumours, she never even bothered taking a combat aptitude test. Guesses had placed her anywhere between ranks 50 and one hundred, with her combat rating usually put somewhere in the 17,000-19,000 region at the end of her time in the Air Force of the Republic of Pakistan.
If Shuri thought Anna was better, and unequivocally so, there had to at least a ten percent differential. Therefore, Anna had to be one of the Twenty-
Or maybe the people on the net didn't know what they were talking about in regards to Shuri.
In terms of the anime, the audience would be offered a split second scene of a shocked Yukari as she turned to face Kouji before she greeted them.Six times greater? Six times the combat mitigation ability of an Ace rank Vanguard like Shuri would mean-
"G'day sis, hiya Shuri!" chirped Koujirou plopping into his seat from above.
"Good morning everyone," Sandra greeted, following the boy into her seat with somewhat more grace.
"Morning you two," Yukari replied with a smile, mentally still reeling and glad

We know she's not fully recovered yet.The other was a dusky skinned brunette with fairly long hair herself. You find much more notable her slight, nearly imperceptible limp and the manner the light shone off one side of her face slightly differently. If she was still limping even with a Valkyrie unit equipped, then the injuries must have been massive. Major reconstructive surgery, you conclude. You had seen quite a few such veterans during your stay at Anchorage. It was very well disguised surgery, that would likely, in time, fade without a trace. You wonder if she was also a participant of the Alaska campaign.
Other sources have corroborated the story by revealing there existed doubts amongst the highest ranking officers of either Denver or Cincinnati Major Breaches reinforcing each other. While the Portland and Fairbanks Minor Breaches on the west coast of North America were established by Hive Types from the Denver Major Breach and thus subordinate to Denver, the Saskatoon Minor Breach was established by the Cincinnati Major Breach. While the Major Breaches have been known to snub each other, the two North American Breaches appeared to take it one step further. Intelligence was aware of what appeared to be a long running internal conflict between the Antagonists of the Fairbanks and Saskatoon Minor Breaches, with moderate scale unit movements and conflicts throughout central Canada stretching back as far as 55 Post Impact.
"Yeah, I hear that quite a bit of realism is given up for safety. Of course, I'm not at the level where I can tell yet. It's pretty cool though, like literally impossible to hurt someone else when the Simulator is set like this," Syifa says, then disengages her Impeller, before turning a plasma caster around and shooting herself in the face.
Her own plasma stream impacts her in the helmet-
- blood, flesh and bone, red and chunky, splatter into the snow. The stench of gunpowder, acrid and sharp hits you first, then the ringing silence. The gore lies in the snow, gently steaming into the air, followed by a soft puff of white powder as the body slumps down - with the hiss of evaporating paint. Clothes melt and hair ignites, skin blackens then bursts, blood explosively heating into steam. -
-the same moment your lasers strike the projector, disabling- No.
No. Nothing happens. Her plasma stream and your lasers contact her frame with no visible effect. A red warning… hologram appears in the air in front of her frame.
>1st Year Syifa Wulandari hit on Frame by self inflicted damage and 1st Year Anna Sanchez<
>Predicting mortal damage taken<
"So yeah, you can't actually damage anything not from the simulator with weapon fire. It takes a little getting- uh, Anna?"
"So…" Yukari tried again, "If you and Anna were in this competition, who would win."
For a moment, it seemed to Yukari that Shuri had completely tuned her out, then the golden armoured Valk replied, blunt and certain, "Anna."
"This examination will be in a tournament format; each individual match will be best of five rounds. Simple rules; twenty minutes each round, search and destroy, four minute breaks between each round. If neither competitor suffers Impeller depletion or concedes before the end of the round, the victory will be awarded by judgement. The terrain for each round will be in the following order," the Instructor continued as all of a sudden, the surrounding space flares and scenery appeared.
"Take care of yourself, Koujirou," said Yukari, placing a hand on his arm.
"Don't worry sis. I've got a plan," Koujirou grinned, catching her hand and squeezing reassuringly, before letting go and striding confidently down towards the arena.
XxXxXxXxXx
The missile hit Koujirou straight in the face.
A hand popped over the ledge and a Valkyrie hopped up into the tunnel Koujirou was standing in. She straightened and then froze, barely thirty meters from Koujirou.
"Claire?" Koujirou asked over his frame speakers, his mouth working by itself as his brain spun its wheels at a million revs per minute.
"Uh hey, fancy seeing you up here, Koujirou," Claire responded after a practically audible moment of thinking, her eyes locked onto Koujirou's left arm and the hypervelocity cannon mounted on it the whole time.
There was another brief pause and then-
Claire stared at his hand then squinted up at his face, making no motion to take his hand. Koujirou shuffled in place awkwardly for a bit, and was about to withdraw his hand when Claire clasped it firmly and pulled herself up.
"…Good match, but…" she trailed off and prodded him in the side, "Who's this badass and what have you done with my cute Koujirou?"
Josie grinned down at Setsuna as they shook hands. Like most first year cadets, the brown haired, fair skinned cadet was taller than Setsuna, much to the shorter girl's ire. The two broke their handshake and stepped back from each other.
"Yo, Setsuna. Let's have a good match," Josie said with a friendly nod.
Setsuna smiled viciously, "Sure, I will."
>Victor: Masaya Setsuna
>Third set: Victory by Cadet Masaya Setsuna, three rounds to zero.
She lost an eye and a leg and hasn't taken official testing so what they can put is only extrapolation. And that Shuri's current rating is actually considerably lower than when she left the Pakistani Air Force and entered the UN Forces. IIRC, something like 14600 was listed in her file. She's probably tumbled in 300 ranking too. Is that a result of the incident that injured her?
It's not a coverup, just outdated. Why cover it up? I mean couldn't you just slap classified over it and move on? The truth is going to come out in less then a decade. Its not like some of the stuff the government does that doesn't come out until 50 years later.
I would say no.Like I know we aren't be followed around. Is the stuff in the box the episode?
Mostly fine. She said the new arm is weaker than the other one.Anna atomized her arm from the elbow down developing the Wave Force, and not a couple weeks later was fine
Yeah, initially, for sure. Molecular reconstruction is a taxing ordeal, so Durga probably focused on making an arm at all before working on its effectiveness. It's probably effectively an arm suffering from severe muscular atrophy that's improving as time goes on.Mostly fine. She said the new arm is weaker than the other one.
I am choosing to believe that, much like the updates in our universe, the length of time between episodes in the other universe is strangely longer than usual.
Project Valkyrie Core: Worth the admittedly long wait.
Probably an OVA series like Hellsing Ultimate which took almost seven years to release all ten episodes.
Each of those rounds was at least an episode of (admittedly glorious) animation. Tell me otherwise.
The first went four episodes, probably with at least one episode of this update to handle the pre fight setup and one intermission episode. Six episodes before we got to Kojis first bout. Then three or more episodes of that.
Then they wrap up Setsunas three fights mostly off screen in one episode (real-time with no cuts) and mostly skip Sandras.
Admittedly, long panning shots of the audience working on their analysis of the fights and talking among themselves about it to help infodumps probably padded it a bit more than was strictly necessary but visuals alone don't really convey the full complexity of Valkyrie combat and this way of conveying exposition was pretty amusing.
It's not a coverup, just outdated.
I would say no.
