Can we please not talk about tarrangar's awesomeness or flaws? That always ends up being negative.

And hey, I believe that tarrangar had the idea to harvest Fire Whale gems! That panned out well, and is providing us with an excellent economic inroad to the Plane of Fire!

Yeah but I would like to know how my conduct is annoying precisely, I can't promise to change it, but I can't even try if I don't know what to change.

Not that I got all that hurt by your comment about what I was smoking, that was fine with me, but I like discussing things with you, and do consider you a friend, so far as you can someone you have only chatted with on the internet, so I do feel kind of bad if that feeling isn't mutual, and more importantly, would like to know, how to try to make talking with me pleasant for both of us.
Well, I'd like to say it makes me feel glad that you consider me an internet-friend.

I will admit, part of the filtering thing stems from scrolling down trying to catch up with discussion, going "fuck, again?" And then you read their post and it is arguing about the same thing.

Azel told me the hate was undeserved and thinking about it lately, my responses to them (not the filtering) was pretty disproportionate.

I bet I would merely be unconvinced rather than combative if they had put more effort into consolidating responses into one post no matter how many people directly respond to them, because otherwise it looks like someone flooding the thread with their opinion frequently and emphatically with absolutely no consideration for what less vocal players might feel.

That is where the original anger stems, I feel. Me and Azel have pointed out if you let extremely vocal players voice an opinion as if it is incontrovertible fact, with no response, other voters might put you in a situation where you go down half a decision chain to something, then halfway through a record scratches on the narrative when someone goes "why the hell are we voting for this nonsense?"

It is extremely jarring and irritating. Most people at least learn to try convincing the other party and then compromise in the end, too.

Well thanks for the praise, but this time I think we had a good talk, as we worked out a strategy, for me to maybe cause a little less annoyance in the thread.

In that case I'm glad you are glad.:)

How much would a Disintegrate arrow cost normally? If it's not too much we can just pay for that. Those arrows would be fantastic for when we get around to crushing the Golden Company.
A single-use 13th caster level Disintegrate item would cost 390 IM to enchant.

It would inflict 26d6 damage if the target failed a DC 19 Fortitude save, or 5d6 damage if they make the save.

Since Amrelath has a +20 Fortitude bonus, he would only have failed on a Nat 1 and even if the Disintegrate was Maximized, which would have required it to need a minimum caster level of 17th (also raising damage to 34d6), it would only inflict 204 damage. That's a lot, but Amrelath has 274 HP. At an average of 91 damage per 26d6 arrow, and assuming the arrow itself also inflicts damage, he could have tanked a couple of them before it got dangerous. And Wings of Cover would have been good for blocking at least one.

All in all, a fantastic weapon to use against most beings, but not something with the tankiness of a Mature Red Dragon. If they set out to assassinate a Dragon, using the Disintegrate arrows wasn't a good option. Would have been better for @DragonParadox to keep the Slay Living arrows and simply have them be ineffective.

I do compromise some of the time, and I don't think I have ever caused a decision train like that, I might be loud, but I'm not that kind of loud(at least I don't think I am, and I'm not trying to be), probably mainly because in most of my plans, I have theories, and I freely admit they are theories, so first step is always try to confirm if the theory is right(yes the dragon reincarnation plan was an exception to that, but that was because DP had confirmed it would work(and then later withdrew that confirmation) and so that was just a matter of me, trying to convince people getting a dragon minion would be awesome)

Also what filtering thing? am I on Crakes ignore list?

In this case it was mainly because it's super late for DP and he wanted to do minimal editing before going to bed. We can try to bring this up tomorrow if you'd like, I don't think he'd take issue with this.

That said, with the Slay Living/Disintegrate Arrows, I was thinking of handing them off to Aradia and the Erinyes and using them to snipe the wyverns and mages in the Golden Company. They'll be the most annoying threats, hands down.

It's an exclusive club.

But I am considering taking you off it. Before it was because you'd never stop arguing, but that was probably just the two of us talking past each other.

Wait if I'm on your ignore list, how did you see my post? Is there an exception that you still get notifications when I quote you? Because that seem inconsistent with the purpose of ignore lists.

Also yeah it was probably in large part because we were talking past each other, although a part, was probably the mess with the dragon reincarnation plan, that discussion really brought the worst out in me, and I hope to never get as bad as that in this thread again.

And that person? He can be manipulated. Not into productively working for us, that's hilariously foolish to assume, but that's also not what I'm proposing to do. I just want to make sure that the viper is healthy and the poison seeps in deep. An asset isn't defined by bringing benefit to you, but by bringing a net benefit against your enemies. And we can certainly make sure that this will be the case.

blah, blah, blah old wise man babble. I am confident any organized and reasonable attempt at controlling him will convince him to strike out in our general direction.

So I think we should put Glyra on it.

You cant hit what you cant see, and her person and methods are so insulated from us and our usual modus operandi trying to strike out at us through her is liable to just fail spectacularly.

Also she has a nice touch for controlled chaos. Also suffering. I want him to suffer. Deeply.

Shhh! Duesal just wants to go

with those Desintegrate arrows. :V
I laughed WAY to hard at this.

Side note, but I bet the assassin's bow and sword are worth looking over as well. Maybe also a ring or talisman somewhere on him, and certainly whatever teleport/dimension door item he had. He could simply have the magic, but I find it unlikely.

Okay, so any plan is worthless, because you are convinced that it will fail anyway, no matter what it even is. And of course he will see straight through any security measures and precautions and attack us directly in retaliation.

I will therefore not bother to further discuss this with you.

Let us agree to disagree. We seem to be speaking at cross purposes. Given Robert's psyche in canon before and after the Rebellion your assumption is flawed. The man has an unhealthy love of grand gestures and theatrics.
Yeah but he also has an unhealthy love of killing things in melee combat, so I think that while he will be doing some grand theatrics hunts, those he hasn't added all that many extras of, the extra hunts he has added, is of the maximum slaughter variant.

So not that he don't do those hunts at all, but that he only do them as much as he used to, the extra hunts he has added are smaller affairs, because that gets him more kills.

Kinda, yes. Made by the guy originally called IcyYmir on the /b/-like russian image-trashpiling cite, and changing his nickname when moving to Deviantart to RovingNeophyte. You can find his older stuff on his profile on JR too - JoyReactor - смешные картинки и другие приколы: комиксы, гиф анимация, видео, лучший интеллектуальный юмор.
(don't mind the adds, the place is /b/-like, after all)
Although he lost a lot of respect from people over being a very shitty employee publically, his art skill is over the top.
And the guy had drawn a short crack-filled comic series on WH40k called Warp Adventure.

I might one day try translating it, now that I think about it, considering that I see no thranslation of that goodness whatsoever anywhere...

Wasn't there a special stag to hunt in the stormlands? I think I remember something about some fey when we stole that inn.
There was indeed.
Another great belly laugh is your only answer at first, then the one upon the threshold answers. "I am but one who feasts upon his table, but the one who you chained to beast's shape once hunted to my horn and so I am called. A favor he asked that I spare him the flames, and behold is he not spared?"

Indeed the stag no longer burns, but he is still indubitably a stag. "What would you do with him, then?" Lya asks, curious as ever.

"For three years times three he who has already been felled by mortal magics will wear this skin and be prey to the children of man. If by the end he is not slain I will give him back his true shape," comes the answer.

"And what of his trespass here?" you question sharply.

"What trespass?" the great spirit says, laughter still rumbling behind his words. "Blazh gave away a secret born of wine at feast-time, and for that he was hunted. Yet he hid well and sold his lore wisely, so now the hunter has become hunted in his stead."
Though disappointed you could not inflict a more permanent and truth be told profitable fate on the unfortunate stag, neither vengeance nor greed drive you to fight whatever the 'bigger grumpkin' is on a whim. "One other question then, oh companion of the Great Hunt: by what means may such a stag as he became be hunted fairly and causing no rancor?"

The laugh by now is expected. "From him that will be prey all hunts will cause rancor, for is that not the nature of their craven ilk?" You wait patiently for the belittlement of your erstwhile foe to run its course while the stag he has become walks towards the gate tossing his antlered head and snorting.

Then at last the great spirit gives you the answer you seek. "Hunt not with sorcery or the aid of those not of this world, but only mortal skill and the beasts you have tempted to your side against the cunning that remains within him. To one who rides him down shall fall the favor of the Hunt, to ride among us forevermore, or if the heart is weak and love of mortal realms too great then some smaller blessing to blade, bow, or petty mortal fate."

With these words the voice fades into distance beyond the borders of the world as the stag too at last passes the portal into the realms of the undying fey, though it will not long stay there.

"So all I have to do is hunt a bloody stag, not spitting fire, capping lighting, or anything and I can get this blessing?" Bronn asks, breaking the tense silence.

"That and find a single stag somewhere in the whole of the Stormlands, hell the whole of Westeros, without magic," you remind him.

Seeing him scowl in disappointment Dany adds, "Worry not, master Bronn. The skills and the nerve you showed tonight are worthy of such treasures by paths simpler than hunting fey stags through the wild."

Another man might have discounted such offer made by a little girl, but you imagine the little girl currently being a dragon (however small) does much to persuade him that her words are not wind.
I'm not quite certain when the stag is going to be running around, but when it starts (if it hasn't already) it'll be prancing around Westeros for nine years. It gets to keep all its hp and intellect, so we're probably going to hear about some really pissed off hunters at some point who are just baffled at the stag that shrugs off multiple arrows. Whoever manages to slay it gets some kind of enchanted weapon and the option of joining the Wild Hunt if that appeals to them. Oh, and they get to keep the stag trophy. I will admit I'm rather tempted.

It's a bit of a shame that the hunt only allows mortal huntsmen and huntresses to take part, but eh. We'll be building up a nice cadre of Rangers, starting with Theon.

Alright sorry.

I never really do help with plans though. Im either too crazy or not attention grabbing enough.

Let's not be so fucking stupid as to underestimate people we know NOTHING about because we couldn't be fucking bothered to create a spy ring like we did every fucking where else. Of course now that we've taken our sweet time just about every major player in the Seven Kingdoms is Scry proof... brilliant. So now we're going to have to take the long way around to possible months of recon, and if I remember right we still have to wait for 'Bob' to die before we can do anything but wetworks.

Boldness helps, but I find that knowing your audience around here helps more. A base of support forms quickly when what you suggest is something no one else opposes, especially violently, since almost everyone here has at least one berserk button.

Anyone else curious on that Stannis is being considered for the Master of Laws even with the falling out with Robert? If Stannis is just doing that good of a job then I want to know what he's been doing.

You certainly do not remember correctly.
We are waiting to have a huge enough Legion and enough administrators to rule it all before we invade. Probably next year.

And Westeros just hasn't had the same level of priority as many of our other goals. It could keep, while we dealt with more pressing threats.

Now that we have more breathing room, we've turned our attentions more fully toward the west while building up the necessary forces to subdue a continent properly, rather than making a shit show of it.
