I thought he worshiped a ascended black dragon that Ageons was named after? I though there had to be some kind of God for him to work his magic not thinking of concept cleric at all.
Still could have him teach more war clerics for us.
Valyrian gods died during the Doom, @Duesal probably has the relevant quote somewhere.
I do indeed have the quote.
"Then we have one thing in common, little skin-changer," the priest answers. "Though my lord has fallen I would not serve a beast be she ever so mighty. Alas her puppets did not take well to that fact..."
Even if Balerion was an ascended black wyrm, he's still dead now.

He did say the Dragonlords learnt much while they dreamt, but here's an interesting point. We were told that the Dragonlords could speak with the little Valerians in dreams and if they consent, they may be made to forget what happend.

Dany is the one who decides if the conversee remembers.

Part MDCI: The Night the Tavern Danced Away
The Night the Tavern Danced Away

Twelfth Day of the Twelfth Month 292 AC

Though disappointed you could not inflict a more permanent and truth be told profitable fate on the unfortunate stag, neither vengeance nor greed drive you to fight whatever the 'bigger grumpkin' is on a whim. "One other question then, oh companion of the Great Hunt: by what means may such a stag as he became be hunted fairly and causing no rancor?"

The laugh by now is expected. "From him that will be prey all hunts will cause rancor, for is that not the nature of their craven ilk?" You wait patiently for the belittlement of your erstwhile foe to run its course while the stag he has become walks towards the gate tossing his antlered head and snorting.

Then at last the great spirit gives you the answer you seek. "Hunt not with sorcery or the aid of those not of this world, but only mortal skill and the beasts you have tempted to your side against the cunning that remains within him. To one who rides him down shall fall the favor of the Hunt, to ride among us forevermore, or if the heart is weak and love of mortal realms too great then some smaller blessing to blade, bow, or petty mortal fate."

With these words the voice fades into distance beyond the borders of the world as the stag too at last passes the portal into the realms of the undying fey, though it will not long stay there.

"So all I have to do is hunt a bloody stag, not spitting fire, capping lighting, or anything and I can get this blessing?" Bronn asks, breaking the tense silence.

"That and find a single stag somewhere in the whole of the Stormlands, hell the whole of Westeros, without magic," you remind him.

Seeing him scowl in disappointment Dany adds, "Worry not, master Bronn. The skills and the nerve you showed tonight are worthy of such treasures by paths simpler than hunting fey stags through the wild."

Another man might have discounted such offer made by a little girl, but you imagine the little girl currently being a dragon (however small) does much to persuade him that her words are not wind.

Not long after, the Hearth Fey and his petty court descend cautiously to to see if the peril has passed. To his credit Blazh is first, armed with a spiked mallet of fey-bane iron, good for tenderizing meat no matter if it was still alive or not, and holding some manner of talisman in his other hand almost like a shield.

"Well done in thy tasks. All oaths I now hold fulfilled, for liege I will soon call you, and 't would be unseemly for a subject to hold a claim on protection twice over." All this he says in common, so it is hardly a surprise that Bronn looks at him curiously.

"'Neath the walls of Storm's End does not strike me as a good place to be swearing fealty to dragons, at least not these days. Are all of you coming with us?"

"Them and much... much more," you answer unable to keep what might be counted an unseemly smile from your lips. Perhaps it is childish, but you are rather amused at the notion of stealing 'the best tavern in the Stormlands' from beneath the nose of the notoriously drunken Usurper.

Things go remarkably smoothly. In less than a minute, Lya sheers the inn off its foundations, unfortunately leaving the cellar, though not its stock, behind and then once all the fey and mortal helpers have been carried over you steal... no, smuggle an inn out of the Stormlands and upon a place prepared beforehand in the midst of the new Merchant Quarter Xor is building through song.

Through it all Dany and Lya look on with fond amusement, and as for Bronn, his most coherent words were: "How did...? Why...? Fuck I need a drink."

Fortunately Blazh was more than willing to oblige.

What next?

[] Mercy's Birth

[] Oberyn's Visit

OOC: Could not really work in another interlude. You guys will just have to enjoy Bronn's shock from the outside.

@DragonParadox, can we get our new Fey Inn on the front page as a special location in Sorcerer's Deep? Just like the Holy Places have their own sections?

EDIT: Also, Bronn's reaction made the entire thing worth it. :D

EDIT 2: So, no sending Moonsong to hunt the stag. No otherworldly creatures at all in the hunt. No using any magic to help hunt the stag, not even scrying. This fetch quest has just ascended into the realms of "not worth the effort".

Farewell, handsome trophy. You shall be mourned as one of our greatest "what ifs".

I still say we came out ahead in that battle, we got to see Bronn's fighting skills, and can now equip him in good consciousness, seeing as he has now proven his usefulness.

[X] Mercy's Birth

Natural point to move onto.

Mercy > Oberyn > Bloodraven, since we're leaving home after that.

@Duesal As long as it's not a VS weapon, you've been given leave to set aside an enchanted weapon for Bronn at this point. And if we start using him regularly, the standard equipment set would make him more useful by turns.

The stag is still CR13 right? Some random Hunter is going to get a few levels out of seemingly nowhere.

I wanna push for the hard talk with Oberyn and Doran, which will be time consuming.

Still feel Mercy should have cure disease...

This is what I had in mind.

Enchanted Mithral Bastard Sword (unknown effect)
Dirk [+1] (preferably made of Adamantium)
Reinforced Segmented Armor [+1] (or whatever he happens to prefer)
Amulet of Protection from Evil
Belt of Healing
Gloves of Strength or Dexterity
Thank you! :)

Also, @DragonParadox, now that we've seen Bronn fight do we have insight into his PC levels?

EDIT: The fact that he wounded a freaking Archer of the Wild Hunt without a single magic item proves that he's one of the most dangerous humans on Prime Material.

I kind of want to see Viserys troll Robert over the inn and offer up the stag hunt as a challenge.

I dont think Ol'King Rob could resist a a throw down like that.

[X] Mercy's Birth

-- 3 days later --
Viserys, Lya and Mercy walk into the tavern and sit down next to Bronn.
Viserys: "Haven't seen you around Bronn. Still drinking?"
Bronn: "Mostly just against the hangover, m' lord. Needed a moment to settle my nerves and you did take quite a good ale house."
Oberyn walks in and sits down.
Viserys: "Ah, so you have arrived. Bronn? This is an old friend of mine..."
Oberyn: "Call me Moberyn Artell. No relation to the dashing brother of Dornes ruler, I'm afraid."
Bronn: "... sure ..."
Oberyn: "And who is that lovely lady in your company?"
Mercy: "Hello! I'm Mercy! I'm so excited to meet you!"
Oberyn: "Heard some stories I take?"
Mercy nods vigorously.
Oberyn: "And where has the dragon acquired such a fine maiden as you?"
Mercy giggles.
Mercy: "Nothing like that. My mother Lya made me just yesterday. Still a bit overwhelmed by everything out here."
Bronn: "Made... you...?"
Mercy: "Yes! In a big tank full of planar energies! It was quite hard I take it and it took me nearly a day to grow!"
Bronn: "That's it. I'm exploring new levels of drunkenness. See you in a week or so."
Bronn walks off while Oberyn eyes Mercy and then looks to Lya.
Viserys glares.
Viserys: "Don't even ask her about it."
Oberyn: "I merely wanted to know how she achieved such a wonder. I'm appalled by how your mind seems to always be in the gutter my prince."
Lya: "As if..." *looks away wistfully*

Finally!

[X] Mercy's Birth.

I wanna push for the hard talk with Oberyn and Doran, which will be time consuming.

Mercy isn't a dedicated healer. If she was, her spell selection would be much different. She is primarily intended as combat support, who can conveniently heal some on the side. Notice she only has a single actual healing spell.

The stag is still CR13 right? Some random Hunter is going to get a few levels out of seemingly nowhere.
Not really, he should still have the HP of the Wildhunt-Archer, but all other statistics are that of a regular stag.
So I guess a regular guy would take a few dozen hits to kill it?

Unless the willsafe-fail to become a regular stag works, then it would be just that with nothing special about it unless someone randomly decides to cast Break Enchantment over it.
