well, seer circle and scrying the location of brother City are a must, though with our luck their trapped in the webway as well. still, good news. we could always use a pair of what I'm assuming, based on @Mechanis description, are Psycher Bladedancer hero units.

If they are Blade Dancer hero units then I really hope that war-helm isn't ceremonial.
So when the gleaming war-helm of Lal'c-Tann's leading figure being removed caused him to drop his staff of office in shock, it was, to be said, somewhat out of character.
Our current Blade Dancer units are basically unarmored and protected solely by a Holo-Field emitter since none of our current armor works well with their psychic capabilities so if we can get a working example of armor that Blade Dancers can use that'll be great for figuring out what we need to do for giving our Blade Dancers some more survivability.
Unfortunately, they cannot do this and psykeicly manipulate the heavy armor they once enjoyed, and thus must effectively engage in combat without armor at all—none of the armor available to you is both light enough and flexible enough not to hinder their abilities. To provide even some minimal protection, they are supplied with a belt containing a Holo-Field system, the only present use of the technology.

Galactic North Eldar, Noldars for short.
The Noldarii.

When we figure out how to do tech exchange we can probably shop around for a good shield to give to our blade dancers.

I am thinking a shield, a holofield, and maybe some sticky grenades so that they can pull Jedi shenanigans?

No were the Vaulkari. At least at the moment.
The Aeldarii of Vau-Vulkesh are VAulkari.

But this term will reference all of our allied craftworlds and exodite worlds. Aeldari given over to intellectual pursuits, skill with crafts and artisinal activity, scholarly pursuits, so on and so forth. Which may include Aeldari for whom the term Vaulish may not be exactly fitting.

Did you roll for this
I think the nephews survival was rolled for, but sometime between day two meeting results and day 3 update it may have been hinted at to be a Aeldmoot built in event? nephew was always going to attend and approach his uncle.

could be, given he has a scar on his face from the battle in question and he's here representing his friends craftworld. we'll have to wait and see.

Whenever i read something particularly Tolkienian in this quest i go listen to Blind guardian's Tolkieniest album.

an exerpt from the curse of Feanor, adapted:

Don't fear the curse eyes of the dark god lord
Slaanesh Morgoth, I cried
All hope is gone but I swear revenge
Hear my oath
I will take part in your damned fate

A lot of people might even *leave* Commorragh if they are presented with an alternative, and we kinda reject the idea of the old Dominion and of going back and also of the Paths of Asuryan, so they are probably going to migrate to our craftworld or our allied craftworlds.

I don't believe we do reject the idea of the old Dominion on principle. If we did manage to reforge our souls and regain the levels of personal power we've lost I expect we'd be quite happy to go back to the 99.993% of the period of the Dominion when it wasn't a shitshow.

The decadence of the Eldar was a vanishingly small proportion of the total time the Dominion existed.

The first starlance volley light of the drawing of the swords of the Noldor Vulkhari fleet was like a fire in a field of reeds; and so fell and swift was their onset that almost the designs of Warboss WAAAGHBRINGA Morgoth went astray.

More Silmarillion quotes :V

. . .

I mean like, an improperly loaded trailer spends about 99% of its time on the road and only 1% of its time flipping over and dragging the truck that was towing it with it in a really nasty crash. That doesnt mean its okay to improperly load a trailer, because if you do, its going to inevitably yank you off the road. The amount of time something spends in its failure state tends to be a small proportion of its total operating time. That doesnt mean it was a good idea, or well put-together. Merely that failure modes tend to be sudden and tend to come at the end of a period of operation after which operation immediately ceases.

We explicitly reject the idea of the Aeldari Dominion in our character creation. This isnt to be re-litigated; the Dominion failed us and took trillions upon trillions of souls with it as well as the majority of our pantheon, leaving gaping wounds in our souls, and curses laid upon our souls by three of the four chaos gods.

The Dominion has failed us, and done grievous damage to us on its way out. One would imagine that we would learn from the mistakes of the past and do our best not to repeat them by recreating the circumstances that initially lead to them. What we intend is to forge something new; a soul forged anew free of the flaws that allowed the Thirster to sink its hooks into us, and a new society free of what lead the Aeldari Dominion to its disastrous conclusion.

This means we arent going back, we arent trying to forge a new Dominion to stand astride the galaxy, we are simply trying to make a new life for ourselves and our people. Whatever that may look like.

Is it? I thought we got a Bulky design, which seems a poor fit if they already can't manage armor.
Flaw: Bulky

The design you have developed is notably more bulky than is typical for conversion field systems, requiring more slots when integrated to armor, vehicles or voidships—though this does not effect standalone models for Infantry.
We are going to use them as standalone shields.

Historically and statistically most wars were won with sharp rocks tied to sticks! So you can take this wooden club I carved and go have at it with Kap'n Bludflagg and report back your findings.

So many sidequests. This feels like Skyrim all over again.

Not that I'm complaining, of course.
I feel like complaining. We just finished a bunch of sidequests that saw us spreading ourselves thin while slowly building ourselves up from almost ground zero...and our engines have not even begun to be repaired.

All of these enticing sidequests and we lack the strength to even start all of them even if we sidelined all of the rather important tasks of building ourselves back up to something approaching self-sufficiency. We currently depend on our allies to have substantial military strength.

It doesn't help that our dilomacy action points are (as far as I understand it) shared with a lot of our other important action options, so even starting these quests to determine how time-sensitive they are is a major investment that is needed elsewhere.

anyone have theories on who the other expy is (the craftworld leader)?

Also, a dark thought.

aresh-vul is feanor
His brother is fingolfin, whose son we just met, fingon.
Is there another brother, a Finarfin expy? Did he create his own craftworld but ultimately decide to return back to the core worlds? Wouldn't that be a twist on an expy?

Yes, this. Our future depends on creating something new--and given how extremely diminished our population is and how slow our population growth is until Isha is rescued (something that will not be happening any time soon), the simple fact of the matter is that the future of the Eldar depends on aligning with or establishing peaceful coexistence with either the rising Imperium--influenced to be at LEAST amicable with us, but hopefully outright friendly with us--or with the awakening Necron (influenced to be tolerant of us...somehow) empire.

Hopefully we can avoid that event during the Horus Heresy that attracted the Tyranids to the Milky Way in the first place, too. Because the only ones who seem to have a real chance at defeating them is a united Necron empire, and we'd just be a sideshow at best in that titanic war.

So yeah, getting on the to-be Emperor's good side as much as possible, as early as reasonably possible, would be a major goal of ours. We just don't have the numbers or potential-for-scale that humanity does, and rescuing Isha from Nurgle is almost certainly going to require the help of the Emperor. That we'll be in a position to offer him a variety and quality of shinies to make him drool in desire for an alliance will be a huge bargaining chip.
