So a little more analysis of the choices on my part.
As her awareness was subsumed entirely into her pulsing qi, she found herself within a vision. In it, she sat on a high cliff overlooking a lake.Below her stretched a misty vale, silent under the light of the moon.
Everything is under the light of the moon, and anything referring to a shore involves lake qi I.E "Lake qi is the element of joy and delight in material pleasures".
The vale was a lively place, with a lush wood at its shore, she could see a bonfire under it's eaves, and she was sure her friends were waiting.
The wood is next to the shore, and has a bonfire. So this option seems like Wood qi is "
Wood is an element of life and spontaneity, and overlaps with both Heaven and Wind in many ways.". lake that I already quoted above, and fire as in "
Fire that drives one forward afterward, aggression and passion are the hallmarks of fire." as primaries. The lush wood probably means it has Heaven, and wind secondaries bonuses.
A little village sat at the opposite shore, the tiny lights casting long shadows, and in the center of the lake sat an island, tall, narrow and mountainous, stretching high toward the clouds as if to grasp the silver moon, from it came a familiar tune.
The village is next to the shore so it has a lake qi bonus, and appears to be mostly darkness alongside an element that gives light, which is probably either heaven, or fire. The mountain is on a shore so lake qi again, and obviously involves mountain qi I.E "
Mountain, representing steadfastness and immovability and endurance of hardship.". There are a lot ways to interpret the mountain trying to grasp the room, and it might represent the hard road cultivators walk through life. The familiar tune is obviously, and seems like it represent Qi's desire to compose music to offer to the Smiling Moon for her favor like the wanderer did with FVM.
One interesting fact I didn't realize is wind is never referenced in the update I have no clues over how to interpret that though. For the other three they represent three different flavors of joy Ling Qi has found in life. That of a thief doing daring jobs, a beggar whose only solace was playing what little songs she knew on her flute, and the joy she found with the friends she had made in the Outer Sect, but I would greatly caution against interpreting selecting one over the other as devaluing the path not selected as Qi will still find doing those everyday activities
fun.
[] The little village, full of little people and shadows that would keep her safe.
Given Ling Qi likes the city so this path has that as well. In addition to darkness it might have some bonuses to stealth.
[] Toward the moonlit peak and its unseen players, calling her to join the serenade.
Seeing as I don't recall anyone mentioning this the relevant definition for serenade in this instance it is either " A musical performance given to honor or express love for someone, often by one person.", or more of a celebration and the target of the serenade is presumably the Smiling Moon due to it being a familiar tune.
[] Into the forest, full of life and joy. She did not want to leave her friends waiting.
I'm honestly drawing a blank on what say that I haven't already mentioned. Actually given it explicitly saying joy in the option it probably has a larger bonus to lake qi.
[] Into the sky, unfettered and free, to visit where ever she wished, at the time she wished.
Hm. One can view this as a continuation of the last breakthrough bonus, but do keep in mind that for all Ling Qi values the ability to make her own choices she has at least once wondered to herself whether power enough to be free was all she wanted. Regardless of this if you wand to go the wind route this seems like the choice for you.
Hopefully this was useful for anyone undecided on what to vote for.
