Basically if we say yes to Cai, and people learn we serve her and not Bai then somebody is going to care somewhat to happens to us? (apart from our friends ofc.)
That strikes me as Sun Liling 'playing stupid games, likely to get stupid prizes'. Yeah, I mean that could work out for her, but it could fail too and if she decides to escalate against somebody a full grade up on her and a LOT older than her on a frigging snow-covered mountain it seems just as likely that we don't have to worry too much about Sun Liling for the next few weeks. So yeah, there really is no winning choice here, the only one that has a tiny chance of not having us destroyed is gambling that Zeqing backs us up. But I'm worried about the consequences of that, like her somehow getting killed by some expendable treasure Liling pulls out as an anti-angry spirit measure. That's full paranoia yes, but the way I see it, we were fucked the moment that Liling decided to personally kick our ass and make us stop being annoying.
Why is everyone automatically assuming Zeqing would help us?
Like, can anyone explain that? She is 100% the type to let us fight our own battles, that was part of the lesson the last time we saw her.
Zeqing might end up being offended or she might not even show up.
1) We are kinda sorta friends.
The chance Zeqing might help is greater then the chance of beating Sun Liling. There isn't any surefire options here. Why is everyone automatically assuming Zeqing would help us?

Even if she ignores us moving the fight away from Sun Liling's specifically chosen ambush point is a solid idea. Why is everyone automatically assuming Zeqing would help us?

*Shrugs* Sticking around where Yan Renshu has been tracking our movements and knows that Sun Liling was gonna fight us doesn't strike me as smart. At worst, I expect Zeqing to let Sun Liling kick our ass and then protect us from scavengers in the aftermath, protection that's far from guaranteed if sunflower girl leaves us half-dead on the mountainside where Puppet Boy can find us and probably do some nasty stuff.Because we really don't want to lose, because it would cost, so lots of people would rather seriously raise the stakes rather then entertain the idea that we'll have to suffer the consequences of our actions.

Gan Guangli Kaiju attacks the fort?[X] Bound up the cliffs, heading for the black pool. Zeqing will be waiting, and Sun Liling is no match for her. It's a long run though.
So, what are the chances that Sun Lilings faction gets a Cai Renxiang interrupt while Ling Qi gets a Sun Liling interrupt?
Yeah, I can see her eating us for this stunt, so forgive me if I don't agree with that risk assessment.
Edit: Like, this is a massively entitled stunt to pull on someone who is a sort-of friend. The kind grudges are born of.
Do you expect misrepresenting other people's opinions like this will cause them to change their minds?Because we really don't want to lose, because it would cost, so lots of people would rather seriously raise the stakes rather then entertain the idea that we'll have to suffer the consequences of our actions.

No, it's not. Liling isn't a problem for Zequing at all.
Again, we aren't randomly entering her house to ask for help. We were already going there when Liling interrupted us.
Like, look at it in the inverse way. Inner sect Ling Qi invites a friend from the outer sect to a training session. When that friend appears, she is being pursued by another outer sect disciple?
Now, how you think future Ling Qi would react?
And note than Zequing explicitly said that our natures are similar.
Well CRX knows the fort isn't fully stocked, so some efforts to prevent supplies from reaching the fort and to prevent people from effortlessly getting out would make sense.
