Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Did I miss confirmation her spirit was third stage? I'm not seeing it.
We haven't seen her spirit at all. So it is only an assumption, I suppose - although I think it is a well-founded one, since everyone we've seen with a spirit has it at the same level as themselves except people with newly-obtained spirits.

Escaping shouldn't be too hard: we can jump out the cliff, and we are specced for getting out of binds.
I think you are underestimating the 3rd-stage cultivator who should have been briefed on our abilities. I expect her to pull out a no-escape effect as soon as we start trying to run away.

"Sorry about that," the muscular girl said with a hint of apology in her tone, tearing the remains of a paper tag of some sort from the front of the iron plate strapped across her chest, it was Ling Qi could not help but notice, the only covering on her upper body aside from the padded jerkin underneath, which still left her arms and midriff scandalously bare. "Had to make sure you didn't pull a runner, you know? You're pretty fast by all accounts."
Pretty sure this implies that she is confident of being able to stop us from running now that she is in close range.

[X] She has outright said that she is here to stall you. Escape and join back up with as many of your friends as you can manage. Even if it means dealing with her two lackeys too.

That being said, she has no reason to know that our movement art is specifically designed for escaping from such thing, since we've never shown that.

Anyway, we know what we must do:

-[] "You shall always remember this day as the day you almost caught Ling Qi!"
--[] Dramatically jump off cliff

I'm in.

Well, while it doesn't change what you said much Sun Liling's spirt as well as Cui were both still second stage during thunderdom redux.

I read that phrase as "I had to be in stealth to make sure you didn't run, but I failed at that", not "and now you can't run".
Assuming her stated goals are actually her goals(keep us here and talk to us) then the best decision would be to only act if we decided to leave, wait until things were over or close enough that we couldn't arrive in time then come over to talk to us.

If so then our options are: That she gets what she wants and we potentially get useful information. That we flee and arrive in the aftermath or fail and lose our things then get forced into whatever she feels like. That she beats us then gets what she wants from a position of power or we win and potentially get more useful information.
Well, she tried to hide and we found her, so we discovered her before she wanted us to. So we should have enough time to make an impact, I think.

Chu Song already proved she is a regular fighter type. Lousy sneaking, even enhanced with an item, and apparently a very strait foward personality. I think it's obvious we'd be at a desavantage in a strait-up fight, but at an avantage ini anything rogue related like sneaking or escaping.
The two minions are obviously weaker and should be easy to bypass, or maybe even knock out as we pass.

Main point is, the enemy wants us away because we hard-counter her even at a lower strength level. Hence, the best move is to make sure we are there to oppose her if need be, rather than pointlessly staled at the vent talking or fighting an irrelevant fight.

@yrsillar While you're here (though not wanting to bug you), following on from our previous question (though it might be something you want to keep secret), how would jumping to higher arts affect our foundation? i.e. is training an art up 5 levels to Late Yellow better for that than grabbing an art that starts at late yellow from the 3rd Floor?

Arts with higher starting levels/higher quality have more 'weight' when I decide what bonuses to give you, but fully mastering a somewhat lower art will outweight one level of a one still in the same realm.

So... like mastering a bunch of early red arts like zephyr's breath would have rapidly diminishing returns, but mastering a few of around fsa's level would give solid results.

A thought. If Song doesn't like Cai for some reason, there is real value in hearing her out. Lady Cai has been somewhat of a polarizing figure, and if we can get more information about exactly what we are getting into, it certainly wouldn't be remiss.

Fights not getting any traction, so voting strategically time.
[X] She wants to talk, then she can talk. You'll listen and plan.

Running is by far the most dangerous option, so lets not. We aren't that invested in Lady Cai.

And, while, I am on team try to do something, if we believe that the fight is probably lost, then talking here best lays the groundwork for any kind of counterstrike later on.

Ugh. I am aware that we won't get the fight I wanted. So I take the option that is the most likely to end up in a fight.

Also talking is bad. Never talk to people. Punch them in the face instead.

[X] Duel her, even if she is above you in cultivation you have a shot. If you can take her out her lackeys shouldn't interfere and she won't be causing any other trouble today.

Come get some. Interesting that she's a tall, muscular, dark-skinned girl with blue eyes wearing braids. Makes me wanna wrassle.

We aren't winning against her, her spirit beast, and her companions. If we run we had better be completely successful in escape, otherwise we're going to be limping home naked after waking up with injures the next day.

We're pretty good at escaping though, between flying, SSC, and our stats. We're much more likely to successfully escape than we are to successfully fight her, as she's likely much more specced for fighting than she is for chasing.

I'm surprised that people are more interested in risking our brand new and more-or-less irreplaceable Gown, our actually-irreplaceable Flute, and everything else we have on us in an attempt to get away from someone with multiple autosuccesses against us, an unknown spirit beast (who may very well be far faster than us if it is e.g. a bird), and time to prepare.

All to try to intervene in one of Cai's fight that we wouldn't even have known about it Song hadn't told us.
