Hmm I want both Falling Stars Art and Ashen Shadow Art.
They are all good, though both Falling Stars Art and Ice Wraith are very specific to kinds of weapons, so we probably can expect them to punch "above their weight" in counterpart. OTOH, Ashen Shadow Art and Rippling Lake Art are probably the two arts that synergies the best with our fighting style.

So it's a question of whether we want something "when our fighting style fails", or something "to augment our fighting style".

[X] Falling Stars Art

Well now we know some good melee arts also to grab when we need it. But we got a good Wind archery art available so I would loath to let that one slip away with all the bonuses we got with that and hey look more reason to grab that site!

[X] Falling Stars Art

Ice wraith is a favorite of mine, but now that I think about it, while falling stars won't get the 2 qi reduction, it'll still have +2 on clash, -10 on upgrades after the first level, and it feels more damage (it's arm/arm, which according to yrsillar means it's stringer at it's job than arm/spine).

I still want a melee art later though, because at this point we're completely screwed if somebody gets up close to us after casting dispel on FVM.

Falling Stars has three things I want: Compatibility with our current fighting style, Dedicated damage dealing, and a balancing element in Yang.

*Looks at Meizahn* Yeah, we really don't want to become too hyper-focused elementally.

[X] Ashen Shadow Art

This Art appears to be the most useful in 1 on 1 situations while using FVM. Falling Stars and Ice Wraith both rely on using our hands for weaponry rather than fluting. Rippling Lake is fantastic in its increasing spiritual defenses for allies and making enemies easier to hit, but my impression was that our goal is to make us more self-sufficient.

Ashen Shadow should be applicable with kicks, constructs in general pair well with using FVM, and it's stated to enable "choking, blinding gusts directed at foes". The amount of synergy with FVM is way higher than I expected, if it allows additional perception penalties to be applied to foes.

Edit: Falling Stars is good, and we should pick up a sniping art at some point, but we don't have that Heaven site yet. Actually, it's the only option we don't have sites for.

Edit2: Not that I'm advocating waiting until we do have that heaven site. It's just a factor tempering any urgency, in my estimations of priorities.

Does this require a weapon, or can we strike with our ash shadow itself?

Is it even a question?

Also good thing these are first floor arts and we can always come back for free be use we have library pass

There's so good, That I want them all.
But for right now, I think we'll take :
[X] Falling Stars Art
Mainly because it's Yang and all the other are Yin.
If Falling Stars was Yin, I'll be for Rippling Lake Art (which reminds me of "The Gamer's Mind" Skill).

I was looking at the Art Spreadsheet which reminded me that we wanted to learn the other arts from when we picked ZB. Are we still doing that ?
Because we need meridian.

High utility when fighting from afar and kiting enemies, very high power, has a powerful site available. The standard "I want to hit and hit hard" art that is also conveniently filling a hole in our fighting style.

Basically the best I could have thought for as a direct damage art, as it not only give very significant ability to kill enemies before FVM drops when we stop playing, it not only is a good art for when the enemies can counter FVM somehow, but it also plays to our strength when it comes to kiting and striking from afar. Also, very useful element combination.

Main problem is it's site is not currently taken, so I would prefer to wait a bit.

It trades off the range of Falling Stars Art as well as its sheer power by having longer duration and being more defense-based. An excellent choice when we want to kill a ton of enemies in cramped quarters (like a tunnel) and don't have room to kite around enemies, covering multiples of our defensive and offensive holes. Less "fuck damage", more "Fuck assassin in the shadow creeping in and killing everyone slowly". Solid choice.

My favourite. It doesn't need a weapon so can be used while FVM is active. Learning wise, it's Lung so might very well be considered exotic, and Wind also means that we get a lot of bonus to learn it, and we have a fire site.

This art seems to have perfect synergy with FVM and fill the direct damage hole of our build when in semi close quarters. It's also Physical/Spiritual, which is nifty when one of our two cultivation is above the others.

This is really fucking good... But it's not the art we are looking for direct damage. It's one that helps the art that gives direct damage. I want it, I really want it... But it should be one to get once we have an actual direct damage art, as it's what we are looking for right now.

@Arkeus - can we train Falling Stars Art this week, what with the two Arm Meridians?
No, but we can open another arm meridian. Falling Stars is kind of the art that will take the longer to train though, as it's the only one we don't have a site for yet. I'd honest prefer to go and grab it later when we have opened the site, as it seems a waste to not use that site for the whole of it, andconsidering every ones of those arts are great....

@yrsillar, they all begin in late red/gold?

Hmm we should probably go back and pick up Ice Wraith Art in a few weeks anyway, depending on if we grab ICA or FSA. They are both things we kinda want and plays to our strengths... and the anti toxin effect of ICA would be really nice to have.

[X] Falling Stars Art

Falling Stars has Piercing , is yang for balancing and is double arm for more damage.
It will mean getting a good bow, but we have a talent for ranged weapons so it will be a good investment.

I would like to get Ice Wraith Art at a later stage, if people can bear to get a second arm art.

[X] Ashen Shadow Art

Most easily trained with our current sites and also can be used with the flute, so that's that. Plus, Xiulan may have tips on fire qi.
