Something like 50% We have Talent 6+ 18 Stones + Meizhen 5? + Pills 10, so 39 dice for 22 DC.. Meizhen dice should be higher than 5, too, considering she had 5 for AM but SCS is a darkness movement art she wanted to study.

I don't think so? The thread agrees on Arm, maybe even Arm-X, but there are people here; like me; who don't want to commit to Arm-Spine. We want a Burst Damage art. It's not likely we'll get one from spine.
My last calculation had it at 51%.

The chance of us getting 22 successes is 51%. That goes up to 61% for 21 successes, 71% for 20 successes, and 80% for 19 successes.

Yes, they do, but you don't have to place all of the successes on a single action. You could theoretically split up the bonus between two actions.

So the goal of this plan is aiming to complete both Cai's mission and the investigative one. They should provide us both yellow stones and sect points respectively, and ideally should improve our relationship with two of the people most likely to advance to the inner sect. The investigative mission should benefit from Xuan given how strong he is and how versatile formations are, and if he doesn't come then Su Ling due to the fact the disappearances head into the forest so both her hunting experience and likely her illusion immunity should come into play.
The second part would be utilizing Xuan as the best (as far as we know) formations expert in the outer sect, to improve our own skill at it given how versatile it is, how few actual techniques Ling Qi knows, how frequent it pops up during trials, and because Elder Jiao is the formations teacher thus I would imagine a high skill in the art would improve his opinion of us.
For the training actions; train spiritual at the Vent for the automatic bonus and so we can make headway onwards to mid yellow, and train EPC with Bai Meizhen so we can finally finish it.
The social actions I've gone with Han Jian for more political information, Li Suyin so we can get some further bonuses due to studying and to see what her plans for the future are, and Su Ling as she can help us become more efficient in resource gathering if we can in general hunt better, and if we can harvest the resources from kills better.
For resources I've stuck with the basics as I don't see a need to splurge on pills given how little dice they add in comparison to the cost, which could instead be saved up so we don't need to spend Sect Points on wealth or to be used to get us better equipment such as a powerful bow. Our special resources aren't worth being used given this plan doesn't need the bonuses from them. This is particularly the case with the meridian resources, as we are going to be capped by them in the future, and right now we just don't need to use them given the amount of successes we need along with the fact we've just gotten access to a second yellow stone to cultivate with.
@yrsillar - just to clarify then since others have mentioned it, do you have any issue with us taking both Cai's mission and a unique mission from the job list?

@Arkeus is there any chance you could switch Xiulan for Xuan? I don't want another Guangli to happen. I'd much rather approach Xuan when we know he's in the archive, because there is a chance he gives up his pass before Ji Rong wakes up. I know Xiulan is kind of down (apparently), but we don't NEED to be there for every one of our friends when they feel a little down.
We can only use 4 stones total, and we get a Yellow stone from the vent for free, so you want to remove a red stone from this.
We are seeing that we don't have enough social actions to manage our current friendships; I don't see why we would respond to that by trying to social other people instead of supporting social links that we have been told require support.

I want the Xuan social action because he's our best bet at getting better at Formations if we get close enough. He's the only Yellow formations expert in our year at the sect afterall. What I take issue with in the Xiulan action is that there were no hints within the update (other than the suggestion in the planning actions) that Xiulan was upset. If it was really serious Ling Qi would have mentioned Xiulan's performance while hunting was affected.

Lol, I can't believe Ling Qi didn't connect "mob of wounded cultivators" with "probable large ambush group". Especially when both she went up the mountain and went back down, she was thinking about avoiding potential ambush.

So, I've been toying with progress numbers for the prospective new art. Let's for the sake of argument assume the ideal (for training) of Wind/Water Arm/Spine:
Talent 6, spine meridian 4, RSS 3, YSS 15, starlight elixir 5, snowy peak pill 5, white hart elixir 3, flowing rivers pill 3, gushing spring pill 3, clear wind pill 3, growing cavern 5 = 50 dice
The tricky bit is figuring out the number of successes needed for this theoretical art. Argent Mirror went 20 -> 30, but I don't think a 1st level archive Art is quite so advanced. Zephyr's Breath went 10 -> 20 -> 40. If it's 10 -> 20, it's 10 -> 10 for us if it's wind, 20 in total for level 2, and we'd be almost certain to get it. It it's 15 -> 30, that's 35 in total, which we won't meet, but would have solid progress on. An Arm/Heart art would be more likely to reach level 2 than anything else, but I don't expect that to be a popular option.

Suyin wants revenge. She knows that, from a pragmatic point of view, that anything that assists her and her cultivation is an advantage that will help her on her goal.
From an emotional perspective, she's going to undergo more self-loathing and be angry at herself for not being more useful to us. This is bad, but knowing Suyin and the fact that she believes she'll grow to be a frightening healer, this might motivate her to become better so she can repay us.
Personally, I think when Suyin gets stronger and saves our life (which has to happen at some point), she'll feel relieved. Suyin's issues run deep, but for now helping her in a way that doesn't hurt us is beneficial to both of us and Suyin can see that. She won't refuse, but it's probably not going to worsen the issue.
I'm fine with it for now because the Qi Foundation pill is useless to us and Suyin knows it. This means that she can see it less as a gift and more as disposing of a medicine Ling Qi doesn't need anymore.
