Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

[X] Try to bribe the child spirit with food

We are on the clock, we have a unknown spirit with Early Silver/Yellow Cultivation, and possibility to grow. I suggest giving her some food, be it spirit cores or real food, to quickly get on with it.

On other hand, we may get some rewards if we play tag with her. Ignoring her may cause us trouble in both long and short term, so I suggest that we at least do the minimum to stay civil.

[X] Accept, surely it couldn't be that hard to catch her a couple of times, and resolve this without trouble

I think it's important to establish a good relationship with her, especially if we plan to come back in future months. Also, there may be rewards for interacting with her - her mother is likely very strong, and could be a friend/ally if we play this right..

We have dex 5, athletics 4 for the tag game. And this would be physical probably so at most a -1 detriment (since she's 2nd realm) or at best a +1. This seems better dice than we would roll for something like ... Well, actually, showing her the glade would be Manip 4, Persuasion 3?

The thing about showing her the glade - I'm worried that she'll get caught up in the fight with whatever spirits are drawn to the moon flower. On the one hand, it could be a cool buddy battle. On the other hand, her mom might not be impressed with us (for getting her out of the Mom's backyard and then putting her in danger).

Looking at the clash we should get +1 for physique.

[X] Offer to show her something interesting if she lets you through. Take her to the glade.

I like this option best. There's a chance she isn't interested, but I doubt feeding her our Grade 1 beast cores is going to do much. Giving her our Worm core is probably going to satisfy her, but it would be sacrificing 40 Red stones so I'm not too enthused. We're running on a time limit, so I'm afraid we won't be able to beat her in tag in time. Although we might be able to win considering the low visibility and SCS.

I'm also definitely not voting for knocking her out or ignoring her. Antagonising her is definitely not a smart decision if we can leave in peace.

Maybe she's up for adventuring? Who knows, maybe we get a party member out of this.

Huh. This is... Interesting. I'm concerned that beating her in a game of tag will upset her though. She seems rather fickle. And if we bring her to the glade, what if she tries to take the flower?

I'm wary of bringing her with us, I don't think her mother would be happy at the chance of her getting hurt by spirit beasts or our competitors.

So cute...

Ahem.
Pity we couldn't play tag on the way back instead.

We... probably can win in tag unless we roll badly? If she were genuinely trying to get away from us she probably could, but this is a game...
We don't know how 'cool' the moon glade is to an ice spirit, and taking a child away from their home to a combat zone is often considered a social faux pas. :p
I'm opposed to knocking her out. Angering her mother is a problem, and we don't really want to waste time/qi/health on a fight we don't need to.
Ignoring her... maybe? Qi doesn't seem to think it's too much of a problem, but it's possible HAnyi could make it worse if she were grouchy.

Undecided between tag and candy...

this for now.

[] Accept, surely it couldn't be that hard to catch her a couple of times, and resolve this without trouble

Plays to our strengths(the checks here are speed and awareness, which we're at least decent at and have arts for), but note that she is GOOD at hiding and it's her home terrain, so theres a chance of it taking an indeterminate amount of time chasing a baby yukionna in a blizzard.

[] Try to bribe the child spirit with food

Basically it's the level 1 beast cores. Might be the easiest solution, but costs us loot, and might not interest her if it's just common beast cores she could take herself.

[] Offer to show her something interesting if she lets you through. Take her to the glade.

Gambles the objective. Would probably make her mom mad for taking her out.

[] Just knock her out and move on

Makes her mom MAD. Bad news, do not be the asshole

[] Ignore her unless she attacks, she was slowing you down before, but it wasn't anything you couldn't handle

She's going to escalate.

[X] Accept, surely it couldn't be that hard to catch her a couple of times, and resolve this without trouble

If we didn't have Argent Mirror I'd be more reluctant but we ARE really pretty decent at this, and it should make her happy with us, which means potentially dealing with other threats in the area who don't want to cross momma-onna.

While I want to play as well, that Ling Qi taunts Murphy with that line of thought...

[X] Offer to show her something interesting if she lets you through. Take her to the glade.

I wonder if her Mother is actually in the glade, trying to extract the nectar for her own. :D

I think that this is the safest option we got some cores from our climb and every kid likes free food right?

Anybody else playing with the thought of building up a social link with the snow girl and her mom, and then bind her? Or at least explore the mountain with her.

Why? We have Dex 5, Athletics 4 and +1 autosuccess from being Mid Silver to her Early. Plus her mother is most likely not going to be happy about this since the glade is outside of her territory and attracts lots of hungry spirit beasts that could attack Hanyi.

Yup :D

Do we know if there's a penalty for failing to gather the nectar?
There's a difference between "oh well, we didn't get it this time, but we enjoyed playing tag so it's fine" and "You must now pay the equivalent cost of the rare material lots of people were waiting for (and they now dislike you on principle)"

Good catch. OTOH, I don't believe we have applicable passives, and she rolls 10 dice for dodging. If we're only rolling 9 dice (granted with +1 auto-success), that's pretty even. Do we have anything else that would add to the roll?
I'm not sure what we would roll. Probably Dexterity+Athletics against her dodge. Speed may also play a role. As well as perception, if she kicks up some snow to hide in.
