Wings are simply put Ling Qi's desire for true freedom, and her roots are the relationships she had made walking her path. This probably a choice that will color the "feel/flavor" of Ling Qi's qi the most obvious example being the aura of fear Meizhen gives off without any noticeable effort.
Power to control the exact ratio of freedom/wings to roots/bonds in her life. I'm uncertain who might pick something like this... Han Jian perhaps?
Power for the sake of punishing those who threaten those she cherishes... Gu Xuilan might've picked something similar to this choice.
Power for the sake of being able to walk a path that allows one to be truly free part of which is the capacity to allow other to partake in that freedom.
Power for the sake of being so strong that nobody will ever threaten anything you value, and I think Bai Meizhen has something similar to this.

I think the vast majority of us like this option the most so we have that portion down I think . Who knows more people can jump in later and disagree with me about that.
So we know we are going to go for silver, and honestly I can agree that the cai vote probably won't go anywhere as in people are gonna be too heated and angry from fresh duels to agree to any real truce but it may calm things down for a bit and give people better ways to initiate duels without damaging property etc.
Also cai did kind of help us out and is a potential ally/friend/good rival whose family also happens to own the area we grew up in and our mother is currently at. So I can see how getting to know her better is good , however let's try not to get to know her guard better as huang da is most likely gonna do something stupid should we persue any guys atm.

This said, @Alectai, the sixth action has to be a "cultivate alone" action due to QM request, so if we succeed, we need to cultivate, not go with Su Ling.

He has breakthrough once, but breakthrough is two actions. It adds up to seven once you count breakthrough twice. Unless he IS only doing it once, in which case it's bad because he isn't trying to break through this turn.
@yrsillar, when you said " the sixth action must be a personal training action", does only 'Cultivate on your own' qualify, or do any of the low social cultivation actions like breakthrough or cultivating on the vent with Suyin qualify? Because you've treated those as pretty low social commitment before.

Nope. It had one action he would take if we broke through to silver, and one action to recultivate physical if we failed. The conditional tricked people into thinking it had two breakthrough actions.

I really dislike 'carrying'. It's the motivation almost any protagonist takes on and I really like the quest because it chose a character type very different from the typical xianxia or shonen or quest protagonist. I don't want Ling Qi as an inspirational hero and I think that choosing 'carrying' is a choice that takes her away from her appealing differences from that sort of character. 'Carrying' is, quite frankly, boring and done. It is a character motivation that is popular because it is inoffensive and does not really challenge the genre at all—see TheLastOne's comment about this being a 'genre question'. I do not want to read about things that do not challenge the genre and I do not want things that do not challenge Ling Qi's sense of self. A feel-good vote for the option most closely associated with predominant ideals is, I think, missing the point of what makes this quest what it is.
Whenever people comment on what makes this quest appealing it's on the basis of its originality and ability to bring something fresh to a relatively staid and static genre while remaining true to that same genre. If there's anything certain about the quest it's that any option will be a good read and will have Ling Qi herself hold tightly to ideals. So I ask people to please consider voting for an option other than the one that conventional taste deems 'heroic' or 'uplifting'. The quest's sure not to fall into dumb consistent things, even if the winning option isn't the most blatantly optimistic. So please take a chance and vote for something that goes in a direction different from the most genre and quest-typical.

We can get a spirit beast through AS, but I'm really not sure how this works with swapping to EPC? If the spirit pet slot isn't a permanent bonus, wouldn't we lose it on swapping? And getting stuck without access to our most powerful/specialest skill is a bit worrisome, particularly as the free version we have now will probably cap at either peak yellow or early green. In other words, we should not even think about pets until we max Argent Soul.
This is somewhat interesting, on a semi-unrelated note. Family cultivators, and any who manage to get a technique, won't have a major obstacle here (beyond the normal) but it seems that anyone without outside benefits is going to be stuck at this boundary, either early green or peak yellow, unless they join the inner sect.
In turn, this means the standard for joining the inner sect is likely to be hitting either peak yellow or breaking through to early green, something only the very talented and those with backgrounds can do.
EPC then, is big. It is very possibly, assuming it goes past the start of green (which seems to be a breakpoint for what they're willing to hand out to people without extensive vetting and control over) it's effectively a ticket to a tier up in importance, which would explain the locks that seem to be on it.
The breakthrough itself is interesting. Namely, we got benefits to future gain. Extra actions and XP cost reduction, seemingly, for having mastered various skills. SCS was maxed for the red level, and Zephyr was maxed. We were told to have AS 4, and doing so probably got us Argent Mastery (which is very nice). FVM, water elemental, was not maxed, and we earned no water benefits, but as the element masteries are fairly small (if important) gains, this is manageable. Having qi, specifically from those pills, got us our biggest advantages, an extra action, 2 successes on all cultivation and a few dots.
This strongly suggests that, unless I'm misunderstanding the mechanic, sitting at peak COLOR for a while and pushing everything else up to the reasonable maximum (note AS5 was unnecessary, but having 30+ qi might have been a threshold? Consider that we may have lost an extra action or something comparable for hitting 30 qi, we're now quite weaker than we conceptually could be for delaying somewhat. Alternatively there's a bad breakthrough, a decent one and a good one or somesuch. We should consider looking before breaking through to silver into what maximizes breakthroughs, and what thresholds there are. Anyone from a big family may have a good deal to say. Getting concrete goals either to make final adjustments before hitting silver or to start aiming for certain stat breakpoints before moving to Green could be quite useful.
In this vein, let's try asking someone (anyone with a strong background really) about any suggestions they have to build power before a breakthrough and how it might help and make our breakthrough to silver contingent on their answers. The genre and quest-typical, in this instance, would be 'Awesome main character doing everything by themselves and being revenge bent', so the two options that are not cliche would be 1 and 3.

I disagree that Wings to take on Weight is carrying our friends.
It all about Ling Qi. Being friends with Bai Meizhen is the perfect example. We don't care we will accrue enemies this way. We are sticking by her because she is our friend, and we will be strong enough that the consequences will be afraid of us.

Also, I will note that assuming being with Suyin would not cause her to breakthrough... Is just that, an assumption.
I'd assume that instead, Hong Lin would gather the very same mob of girls and force Ling Qi to face her while the other girls harass Suyin and Su Ling. Of course, if Ling Qi could defeat Hong Lin (probably not at that point of time, though dice might beg to differ), then Suyin and Su Ling would have lesser wounds.
End result would probably not dissimilar with the fight against Huang Da that one time, though Ling Qi did have her Qi-restoring pills, so it might be different?
Xiulan on the other hand, might be facing the Zhu siblings alone. Meizhen will still fight Sun Liling.
