this is the only one i care about. we need it really badly.
 
OK, at the moment, Task Force 6 is leading by a huge margin.

"Have the Ked Peddah blow up the debris" is leading 26-23 over "Have the Vulcans study the debris," well within the margin of error. I've explained my own feelings on the mattr.

"Laio Exploration Council" is leading over "Laian Research Institute" by 25-20, less likely to flip but still possible.

The three leading choices for the MISC vote are:
-Check out that research base rimward of Gammon (36 votes)
-Check out what's behind House Bene's rapid advancement (32 votes)
-Have Kahurangi go on a recruiting drive. (23 votes)

"Tachyon tracking network" has 21 votes, and "build up Linderley's team" has 19 votes. I think that latter is unfortunate, because I strongly suspect that if we're going to learn anything useful about House Bene's rapid advancement and act on it, we need an effective spy network on Morshadd.
 
I honestly think that voting for the recruitment option is a mistake.

The other options are literally things that we can get no other way.

But recruitment, no matter how tempting is a task we can accomplish in other ways at other times.

Voting for it now is literally passing up choices that we will never get ever again for something that ticks over every turn.
 
I'd put Linderly getting a solid team ahead of finding out about the Bene, actually. Palace politics is about to be a major thing on Morshadd, and we want to have a team in place that can collect intel and, if needed, provide nudges.

E: and if needed, counter Romulan ops.

Sorry, but that's not true. We don't have methods for increasing our crew income beyond expansions every Snakepit, which is already going flat out. It seems the option that is most unique, to me.

Even if the recruitment drivev wasn't unique, we seem to be so undermanned that not taking it might end with us being unable to use the fanciness because we couldn't crew our fleet.

Those two votes are currently tied with each other. With the other two MISC choices having more votes. So you all have a choice to make. either choose to have more Recruits for Starfleet and be able to crew the new starships coming off the line and replace our losses from the recent fighting or Reinforce a team that we don't actually need like we do the potential recruits.

I sorta view taking it over the other options as being penny wise and pound foolish.

Failing to increase recruitment nets us... delays to building scheduled.

Failing to build up our networks on Morshad could net us... doing all that work and spending all that effort only to let someone get away or for the Romulans to get a client instead. The Praetor says "Khnai"

I changed my vote because I was convinced by what Akuz said. Not being able to crew another starship.... eh. A chance for a team on the ground could be important.

Change it a little.
Honesty wish we could get more out of research station than destroying it, think of all the goodies we can get.

Or people could move votes away from the Bene, it's not like it's a binary choice between recruits and Intel.

Like I said, I'd focus on getting Linderly established because while we might be in the dark for a little bit on the Bene, we will have more options for intel collection later.
 
About sending the Vulcans in versus letting the Ked Peddah destroy that mentat research.

Yes it's a small risk in terms of gameplay, but consider this. If I told you that there was a chance for you to make a lot of money, and it only had a 1 in 1000 chance of blowing up a city... what would be the right thing to do?

The one I'd like to give up on is the independent research house rimward of Gammon. I can let that one go.

Even more so since we are playing as Starfleet. If this was the 40k verse, you go right on ahead. Playing as the Empire in Star Wars? Yeah take those odds. Even some other settings you might still do it. But in the Trek Verse? Dominon and Cardassians are the main two I can think that would give the go ahead and even the Cardassians would take pause to consider how the other powers may react.

I'm willing to let either go tbh, but Bene has 31 votes to 36 for Indep House.
