Forge of Destiny(Xianxia Quest)

Noooo, Sable Light Pill is for 6 actions turns :( Don't worry, we'll get 6 actions in Yellow even without Tea so that won't be an issue :(

OTOH, the unique combination of Qi Foundation Pill + Sable Light (+ Elder Bonuses) is not likely to come around any time soon.

A possible plan could be

[X] Plan Art Prep
- [X] Resources: 2x Red Spirit Stones, Gushing Water Pill, Qi Foundation, Sable Light
- [X] Ask Han Jian and Gu Xiulan if they ever figured out what the tokens do
- [X] Cultivate on your own
--- [X] FVM
--- [X] ZB
- [X] Talk to Han Jian, he did mention wanting to do some training
--- [X] Train SCS
--- [X] Warn about Huang Da and his capabilities
--- [X] Ask to invite Su Ling and Li Suyin
--- [X] Reveal FVM and SCS
--- [X] Let them know that we're going to do heavy cultivation next week so we might be imitating a corpse doll
- [X] Go up to the vent to cultivate with Su Ling and Li Suyin
--- [X] Physical
--- [X] If Su Ling and Li Suyin don't know yet, update them on Huang Da's capabilities and actions (using vent while we're not there)

If we open a meridian or train an art in class, we'd probably hit 20 base qi I think.

Okay, could someone please explain why "talk with Gu Xiulan about our stalker trouble" is being prioritized above the crafter hall? WE're obviously going to want to hit both of them eventually. Hitting the crafter hall now rather than later gives us an opportunity to buy more pills before our big shot (we have 8 red spirit stones that we have no use for except for trade goods. Even if we don't trade in the staff at *all*, I'm sure we can get something helpful for them). Talking to Gu Xiulan now rather than in a few weeks get us... what, exactly?

Yeah, but otherwise, we're just doing half-agains on spiritual or physical. And in any case, spiritual or physical don't benefit from qi foundation pill, which we're basically going to have to use every week or have it go to waste.
Or we could sell them? They are very potent tools for the Red stage.

And doing even one extra physical means we will have rolled, by the end of Week 12, around 75 dice, when we need, on average, 80 to reach Peak Gold. A far cry from being a waste.

While not a perfect plan, it I think this is a decent one that doesn't waste actions on half-measures, and tries to keep our forward momentum in cultivation.

[x] Beneath the Horizon of my Contempt.
-[X] Two Red Stone, 1 Argent Accumulation Pill, 1 Qi Foundation Pill, 1 Gushing Spring Pills
-[X] Instructor Zhou Class (Locked-In)
--[x] Warn Gui Xuilian and Han Jian that we've picked up a Stalker. Also that we're going to be doing all the drugs next week, and probably won't be good company.
--[x] Start using arts in class. Now that an enemy knows about them, it's more valuable to try and improve in a real world situation then keep them hidden.
- Elder Su's Class (Locked-In)
-[X] Go up to the vent to cultivate with Su Ling and Li Suyin
--[X] Warn them that we're going to be doing all the drugs next week, and will have a zombie for a face.
--[X] Cultivate Forgotten Vale Melody
-[X] Talk to Han Jian, he did mention wanting to do some training
--[X] Sable Crescent Step
--[X] See about inviting Su Ling and Li Suyin
-[X] Cultivate on your own
--[X] Zephyr's Breath
--[X] Physical
I have to ask, why are you taking the Argent Accumulation Pill and Qi Foundation Pill in this plan? You are doing no action that benefits from those two pills.

@TheLastOne What's the point of the Qi Foundation and Argent Accumulation pills? Nothing in your plan uses them.

Also you should switch that stuff around. Cultivate physical at the vent, cultivate FVM on your own. The vent is physical, spiritual, meridian, AS. Nothing at the vent helps FVM.

Meanwhile, we have another site for FVM (water+2).

Why are people advocating AS actions period? We accomplished our short term gains for that. We're not gonna stop with the vent any time soon. So we can let it sit for a while and direct our focus elsewhere. If we don't want to waste the pills then sell them. One of the major cons of our background was our lack of resources we can leverage those into something we're not feeling obligated to fit in.

Also to keep in mind the more you add to a specific action the less we get from it.

For reference the autosux info means that without an Argent Accumulation pill on average we'd lose one or no total successes by doubling up on spiritual cultivation compared to doing a Spiritual and AS actions.

EDIT: Even using an Argent Accumulation pill we'd still only gain an overall average of 3 success levels. Far less valuable at this point than either a more spiritual actions or the free AP to in my opinion.
Spiritual cultivation
Talent 6 Lesson 4 (up to 5 like argent soul?) Argent soul 6 Suyin 2 Spirit stones 5 vent 5= 28 dice
Avg 14/15 (AS reroll)
Double action = 42 dice, Average of 23 successes.
+5 AS Autosux

AS roll Talent 6 + Lesson 5 + Suyin 2 Spirit stone 5 = 18
9/10 average successes with reroll
+ 5 AS Autosux

Personally I'd much prefer to either double up on spiritual cultivation or go to the crafting hall and finally look into the staff and the test tokens. Especially since the tokens might actually be minor talismans.

@TheLastOne Would you be willing to dedicate a free action to asking Han Jian and the others about the test tokens and if they've found out if they have any value?

Could you add in the option to ask about the exam tokens?

I moved back and forth between doing that and cultivating physical. I settled on physical because while I suspect the Tokens are valuable, maybe letting us challenge some sect test that awards higher level techniques to the winner or something of the sort, we're try to push towards right now breakthrough. Yes, we aren't taking a straight path, but we're trying to clean up all our loose ends so that we can break through and immediately take advantage of the bonuses of higher cultivation, rather then have to build those up afterwords.

That was the other thing that almost took the place of physical cultivation. Again, the problem is we do that this turn and get a list, next turn is pill turn, so the earliest we could buy pills would be turn thirteen. Well, I might be making a bad assumption there. @yrsillar, if we go to the markets, do we get to buy things this turn, or do we find out what's for offer and get things on a future turn?

What? We go up there with stones and staff in hand, intending to buy. We get an event turn, and can buy/sell immediately. It really doesn't make sense that we *wouldn't* be able to buy/sell immediately.

...though I suppose I can wait for WoQM to weigh in on this one officially.

I moved back and forth between doing that and cultivating physical.
I mean asking Han Jian, Gu and Fang if they have figured it out.

And what about this, as compromise:

[x] Beneath the Horizon of my Contempt Mk 2
-[X] Two Red Stone, 1 Gushing Spring Pills
-[X] Warn our friends about the Creep and our plans of doing drugs.
-[X] Instructor Zhou Class (Locked-In)
--[x] Start using arts in class. Now that an enemy knows about them, it's more valuable to try and improve in a real world situation then keep them hidden.
-[X] Go up to the vent to cultivate with Su Ling and Li Suyin
--[X] Physical Cultivation
--[X] Cultivate Forgotten Vale Melody
-[X] Talk to Han Jian, he did mention wanting to do some training
--[X] Sable Crescent Step
--[X] See about inviting Su Ling and Li Suyin
-[X] Explore the mountain
--[X] Production Hall, see what you could get for the staff. Maybe a quote for how much a similar talisman would cost would let you know how much it's truly worth?

Sorry, only half edited in doing argent soul in class. Fixed.

Blarg, I keep forgetting the Qi Foundation pill only benifits Cultivation Arts, rather then arts in general. That's edited out.

We don't get Elder bonus on procced Qi rolls. Qi Foundation pill is, indeed, really really good with it, but it's also possible we will get an equivalent for it later in Yellow and we are going to use a Sable Light Pill in week 12 anyway, so I think it's worth it keeping one in reserve for later when we are Yellow and decide to train EPC or some such and have better pills.

@pheonix89 welcome back.

Because we are going to see our Qi Foundation Pill being useless soon, so cultivating AS is a good way to use them. Not only that, but AS to AS5 means we can switch to EPC sooner rather than later.

@TheLastOne mind adding my question to Elder Su in your vote?

People you have to remember that shoehorning in actual actions as free actions lead to sub-par results. The "Warn Gu Xuilian and Han Jian that we've picked up a Stalker" is pretty much trying to do the Gu Xiulan action without doing her action and people advocating of asking about the tokens are trying to do the tokens action without doing the tokens action. I think the free actions and question part of the votes are going a bit out of control here. These things are full actions for a reason...

@yrsillar is trying to do full actions as free actions really ok like some of these plans seem to be trying?

These are one-sentence things. "Hey guys - you know anything about this?" "yep/nope". "Okay, cool. Also, I got this stalker. He sucks, and might be after you." "Got it." We're not trying to achieve anything enormously important - just pass the word on things that each side has already learned.

The Gu Xiulan action isn't "warn my friends", it's "ask for advice and assistance on how to handle this particular problem", and would probably involve some follow-on action to deal with the issue. Not the same thing at all.

Why are you doing Argent soul at all? It has virtually no benefits to us at this point and we could be spending that AP far more productivly elsewhere.

Also I think a lot of people voted for your plan because you weren't doing AS. May want to ping them.

Warning isn't seeking advice. It's warning so that they don't get to say "Why didn't you warn us about X when X bites us all in the ass! We aren't allies anymore you X!"

I'm not doing the token thing that way for exactly that reason.

@TheLastOne mind adding my question to Elder Su in your vote?

Sure.
