Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Since we are quality merchants rather than quantity one Hanna Barbara should make 1

Honestly I'm not a fan of the hyperfocus of the animation departments as I think they have the capacity to make more than one or two projects, but I don't see why Hanna-Barbera working on two would be bad. We're already cancelling most of their existing shows so we're cutting the fat and freeing up animators, and allowing Hanna-Barbera to work on Johnny Quest establishes trust early on in the relationship so we can direct the studio to work on what we want without any issues.

My understanding of Hana Babera instructions says we can remove the Malus if we only work on finishing the scooby doo staff.

It never said that, just that the malus will only apply to this year and likely be removed by the next action plan.

I loved this movie growing up, it was one of my favorites. It really sucks to see it not find much success.

To be fair, the reception is roughly on par, if not a bit better with its OTL reception and Fox and the Hound did make nearly twice it did OTL. I think the movie is one that is met with a muted reception immediately, but overtime people appreciate it more and it's seen as a Disney classic.

Blue Sky Animation Pitch: Hotel Transylvania
A random thought had occurred to me when I was thinking about Universal's Blue Sky. Ice Age isn't doing so hot right now, but I'd really like to see them be able to properly compete. A lot of people complained about the idea of me doing an omake to try and help Ice Age, so instead I tried thinking of other things. One glaring issue I saw was that Blue Sky produced very few films for Universal to draw on, so I thought about it for a little bit and decided that I would try and give them another film. I settled on Hotel Transylvannia. I chose this movie because it was originally from Sony, who isn't competition in animation yet or any time soon, the movie was kind of shit OTL even if it did spawn a franchise, and I thought that it fit really well with Universal because of the classic Universal Monsters catalogue. I didn't want to invest all that much effort into it though, so I just whipped this up in a couple of minutes since I had the time, and I'm putting it out as is. So...here ya go.

Blue Sky Animation Pitch:
Hotel Transylvania

GENRE: Comedy
FORMAT: Animated Movie
SET UP: When monsters want to get away from it all, they go to Count Dracula's Hotel Transylvania, a lavish resort where they can be themselves without humans around to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula invites some of the most famous monsters like the Invisible Man, the Mummy, Wolfman, and others to celebrate the 118th birthday of his precious daughter, Mavis. However, unforeseen troubles arise when an ordinary human unwittingly arrives at the hotel and becomes infatuated with Mavis. Dracula must do everything in his power to prevent his daughter and the other guests from finding out that a human has found them and their sanctuary, otherwise it may jeopardize the hotel's future and his career.

...Just move on... just change the topic...
An immensely unnecessary comment. I'm getting pretty tired of this attitude, man. There have only been 3 things that I've dug in my heels on for the thread, with those being me doing the Undertale pitch, keeping Charlton Comics alive, and avoiding monopolization. Even despite this, I've gone out of my way numerous times to accommodate ya'll when you guys complain about what it is that I want to do, even if it went against what I originally wanted. The most recent example, aside from this pitch, being my deal with Fanhunter over Watchmen. Although I have certain things that I want to see done, I understand that it's a game and I want everyone to enjoy it as much as they can, which is why I tried to come up with a solution that made everyone happy. Weeks of research went into trying to find people who could join Charlton that wouldn't end up draining talent away from Marvel and DC, because I wanted to you guys to be happy with it too. I didn't need to do that, I could have straight up said "fuck you, I'll do what I want." I did it anyway because I wanted everyone to be able to keep enjoying the game and I didn't want to take away from what people loved over at Marvel or DC. I've been given no thanks for my thoughtful consideration, nor would I expect to, but I keep receiving dismissal and passive aggressiveness like this from ya'll and I'm getting sick of it. You don't hear me bitch when ya'll keep plundering other companies and our rivals for content, sometimes straight up taking shit that would come out really soon or otherwise massively hobble our rivals, like you with Predator or Orion with Pokemon. At least when I make pitches from existing content, I do my best to keep it niche, never been adapted(so video games and whatnot), or much further into the future(usually the 90s or post 2000s most often). I also try to find alternative ways to emulate those things for us, like how I was in the process of making a pitch for our own version of Pokemon combining concepts from things like Fossil Fighters and Dinosaur King before Orion made his pitch to snatch Pokemon. All I wanted here is for Blue Sky to be an actual presence in animation, not to crash and burn after a single film. Ya'll complained about me doing an omake, so instead of boosting them, I just gave them another film for the catalogue. Even still, you complain. I don't know what more you could possibly fucking want from me. It's not even much effort into it, meaning it'll likely only result in a +15 SP. Really, I try my best to be genial, maintain my patience, and keep my frustrations away from the thread, but shit like this really tests me. It's also inaccurate, since I only ever brought up helping Blue Sky once and that was back in early November.

Almost forgot to ask, but guys what do you think about trying to pitch some comics to Marvel? Especifically, I'm thinking on "The Escapist". I loved the story and if we can put it in as Marvel did "The Sentry", as a forgotten golden age superhero, then I think we would ahve a shoe in for sure.

Yeah, I do think that comment was a bit out of line and unnecessary Overmind. To give my two cents, I don't have any problem with other people pitching movies that other studios would make like how Zade did Hotel Transylvania for Blue Sky Studios. To be honest, I myself was planning to do some Disney animated pitches in the future because I want to see how the Dreamworks-Disney rivalary develops and already you guys have taken like half of the Disney rennasaince and turned them into Dreamworks movies, so Disney's catalog is pretty barren and I want to explore how they react and follow through with animation. I promise not to put too much effort into Disney support and only make pitches exploring what kind of movies they are making, but is there really any work to complain when I've written dozens of Omakes, many of which autopassed critical fails or gave huge boosts to the company and our movie?

Guys, there's nothing wrong with making a pitch for a different company so long as no one is overly invested to boost a rival to success or trying to sabotage Lucasfilms. We're already super stacked AF with the dice heavily in our favor with all the rewards from omakes and bonuses from our subsidiaries or other events. If Lucasfilms is the only studio to win and we have zero competition, then the quest becomes boring and realistically, Lucasfilms would be in danger of trustbusting.

In my opinion, entertainment companies perform at their best when they're in a state of competition and have to give a shit about the quality of their product to earn the audience's support and praise. Just like at how the MCU developed a monopoly over superhero movies and because of that they became lazy and complacent, making bomb after bomb recently while DC under James Gunn is busting their ass off to try and win the audience back. Look at how Pokemon games have become so lazy and barebones because Game Freak knows that fans will just buy tens of millions of copies so what's the point in trying?

Competition is fun and healthy and Zade hasn't boosted anyone to be a serious threat to Lucasfilms. I mean, it's Hotel Transylvania, an okay movie with three very mediocre sequels. It's not like Blue Sky is gonna make Toy Story.

You see, I agree with you on the rest of the post, but I'm gonna have to disagree with you because of one factor.

Magoose Dice. They do not care for things as paltry and insignificant like logic. :V

...

Well, when you put it like that, I guess I have no rebuttal. Then again I also have no room to criticize when I was the one that also made the pitches for Columbia's DC movies.

@Schehera Zade , I apologize for my insensitive remark. I hope you can forgive me.

Movie Pitch: Falling Slowly
Movie Pitch:
Falling Slowly

Genre:
Romance/Adventure/Coming-Of-Age
Sub-Genre: Music/Light-Dark
Format: Full-Length Animated Movie
Bio:
Brian Lathron Labron, a show-star that has met repeated rejections from multiple directors and producers from multiple genres and areas, arrived at the library with a downtrodden outlook, only to meet a girl that's somewhat a little younger than he is, but full of life and passion, her name is Lisa Taylor Wilbourn.

What they don't know is how this is the start of a grand journey, of two stars in a dark time, Falling Slowly.

(Based on the True Story of Carrie Fisher and Bruce O'Brien.)

Brian Lathron: A lad who left his home in the wish to pursue the life of a star in a field that has many left their mark in the industry. Walking day by day, in search of one to take him in as a star, he grew bitter as the dark side of the industry showed itself to him, not to mention of being unable to grow to his great potential..Nothing seems to change, until he meets Lisa.

Lisa Taylor Wilbourn: The eldest child of a couple that was seen as the power couple of the Industry, she has gone through struggles as she was stuck at the spotlight, not to mention of the homelife she endured. She's tried to live through it, but she also started to have problems with the mind and the self, not to mention substances that were meant to calm her down. Nothing seems to change..until she meets Brian.

N/A: A short Pitch for a potentially long animated movie of beautiful quality, not to mention of music that isn't overly-productioned or cinematic like Star Wars..but one fitting the movie.

I'm sure @Kaiser Chris and the Old Guard of the Quest would be interested on this kind of project in terms of direction, Characters, Writing, etc., where for the first time instead of creating blockbuster movies..it's more focused on a celebration of Carrie Fisher and Bruce O'Brien and the journey they've made along the way. (My recommendation: The Epilogue should be of the duo taking care of their child, while the camera slowly pans out as the family plays together, inside home during an otherwise snowy day.)

Have Fun Lads!

Movie Pitch Faith, The Unholy Trinity: Chapter 1
This is something that I had been wanting to put out for quite some time, although only just now got around to being able to do it. Ever since I first came across this game, I instantly became hooked and obsessed, with the game easily becoming one of my Top 10, if not Top 5 favorite games. Faith: The Unholy Trinity is just such a compelling story and character study, not to mention really fucking creepy and excellently produced by Airdorf Games, and of course, Airdorf himself. Nothing I say can really do this game justice, so I'll just link ya'll to a couple of videos that you can watch if you want to know more. You can also, of course, go and play the game for yourself. DO IT! I initially wanted to make this into a movie, then I thought it'd be too long and I wanted to make it into a TV show, but then I didn't want to go through the whole thing again in order to get my cast list(especially since the wiki isn't accurate/up-to-date), so I just defaulted back to making it a film. I initially envisioned this being made in the 90s, but as I was casting, I decided that the 80s would be a better place for it. The 80s would also allow it to be far more topical, given the Reagan Revolution as well as the Satanic Panic of the 80s, which the game was partially inspired by. I also decided to include some excellent fan made music by Aviators as part of the soundtrack, as I thought that the music was excellent. As for why Mavis is listed as the voice for Molly, I just figured that it wouldn't make sense to spend money on a character who'd never be seen and so it'd be easier to simply have someone on hand voice her, which is something that happens(or at least used to happen) pretty often, thus Mavis voicing her. There's so much that I want to say, but I'll leave it here and hope that ya'll enjoy the game for yourselves. So without further ado...Enjoy!

One year later, Father Ward, the sole survivor of the incident, returns to the house to finish what he started and put an end to the horror he failed to stop. Hey guys who wants to make a pitch of hazbin hotel so we can literally screw the televisionist as we show them or remind them that sinners can be redeemed only it's more censored due to it being the 80s

I like the hustle for that game but uh...

The backlash from it would probably outstrip doom.
I haven't played, nor seen the game yet, but the backlash should not be as bad as "The Exorcist" or "Carrie", right?

I'd be all for making it, so long as we don't follow the TV Version, and stick more to what the Pilot seemed to promise at first. I just think it went of the rails when Amazon took over.

Though i think it woul dbe more comedy, and not so much about sinners being redeemed. After all, as Alastor said, life was their one chance and they blew it, their life in hell is what they chose in the end, and now they have no way out.

We can make God a too goody who literally couldn't intervene to his children because that would get in the way of free will and the last time he did it started the Flood and also Abel death also make Lucifer more heart broken like maybe the hotel used to be his when He tried making hell more livable to the sinners and tried to get them redeemed

The goal of the main villain is to summon the Antichrist and in doing so, operates a massive cult network that secretly has influence in numerous places, performs terrifying rituals involving holes in faces, babies and abortions, and hands coming out of the holes in the faces. It also involves profaning the Sabbath as well as the Trinity with creating essentially a satanic version of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit with the Mother, the Daughter, and the Unclean Spirit. That's only some of what's in Faith. It'd be much worse than Exorcist or Carrie, lol. Though I suspect that it could also be like Solomon Kane was.

I'm against making Lucifer be seen as any kind of good, part of it is my religion, but also because I do prefer him as being kind of a deadbeat dad who Charlie has trouble with trying to form a relationship do their different attitudes towards Heaven.

But then again, that would also be moving from the premise where it should be more focused on trying to redeem the sinners, and the shenanigans that ensue.

...

Fuck. Perhaps we could try making it an R (or X) rated movie? I'm not against doing it, but I also don't want to see us being seen as the new antichrist.
