Don't forget the USS Wisconsin and the one time it got so angry it obliterated a bunch of troops, then the ship that was escorting it radioed 'Temper Temper'.

This thing probably outmasses a given Warbird by a factor of two, at least. Maybe even more. She might even live through the tale (if only barely).

If the warbird's shields are broken and our ship has it's polarized hull plating I could see it actually coming out of that in decent shape.
Problem is, that would risk the Warbird's warpcore deciding that it does not vibe with this universe anymore, while in contact with the battleship's hull.

I would prefer a name that cements this ship's purpose as one of defense against unwarranted aggress, honouring the service of Starfleet as the ones willing to put themselves between humanity and extinction-level weapons even in the face of certain death.

What? It's not hard to say that some things that humans have done were pretty cool. I'm just saying we could name ships in reference to famous ships and people who did cool things, be they soldiers, warships, scientists, or even civilian ships.
Also, I guess we did.
I shoved in a cargo bay and a workshop in the available space, but I wasn't feeling much up to a science/engineering fight when the ship would inevitably have to be refit for any non-combat duties post-war anyway.

One thing I just noticed, this ship only has 160 people on it. For the biggest ship ever produced by United Earth that is really good, the automation on the ship must be something to behold.
