There are already a lot of very stinky people on that boat, I don't think cheese man is going to move the needle especially far
Sigurdr is definitely at the bottom for me, but I guess I can see why people would like him. My thoughts on each kid;
Asgeirr: The most Vikingr of the options, most likely. He'd be a great change of pace if we wanted to make a less social butterfly more traditional character. He's big and brash and openly violent in ways that have been sometimes-negative and already is learning Hugareida, which is neat (unlocked by jumping into a forge). Probably the most different from Halla from what we've seen so far. The personality traits he was assigned were Religious and Cheerful, so he'll be partying and praising the Gods.
Sigurdr: Male Halla(?), a precociously smart and friendly kid despite his stoicism. Definitely the most friendly of the kids so far though, with the most friends. We gave him our work knife and he named it and it is his friend. Don't have many other memories of his stuff so far. Personality traits thus assigned are Heroic and Passionate, so... pretty similar to Halla, I feel. Those two words are probably what I'd use for her. Biggest difference from Halla is that he wants to travel and see the world, while Halla has lived most of her life in one place.
Eyvor: Female Abjorn, likes to fight as much as Asgeirr does (or more), but she's not quite as bad at holding her temper, so she's better at not hurting people. Can/does wrestle the other boys into submission though. We let her hold a cool sword for like 5 minutes and she said 'mine now' (creative interpretation of us finding out she has a huge talent for swords). Found and adopted a bear cub whose mom was dead. Personality traits of: Reserved, and Serious. So not quite as fun loving a person as the other two, or as expressive, but with some interesting possibilities. She's literally Abjorn-Quest as a woman.
Hallbjorn: Doesn't actually have much/any personality on screen yet, since baby/toddler. But trait wise he has every single basic '+1 to X and easier to raise' trait, and is a born Leader and Poet... but is also a Beardless Hemophobe. Seems like sort of a challenge run in terms of 'fitting what our culture wants', but with the bonuses maybe overwhelming those. If any of the kids are going to pursue the path of a Skald, it might be Hallbjorn. Personality traits assigned: Considerate animal lover. So super-pets plan might work with him! I'd be interested in him because I think playing a Skald would be a cool twist.
The twins: (Steinulfr and Asveig ) A boy and a girl who both are disconcerting weird babies with weird magic eyes from when we ate the heart of a Fenriskin. No real onscreen personality yet, but they're weird magical kids with shadowy shrouds and weird eyes and are explicitly Oddities. Either one of them seems like they'd be interesting, but no real info to go off of. They are the only two Born With Hammer In Hand, so if we wanna keep crafting this is a big bonus. I'm guessing these two are gonna end up being creepy twins with creepy twin powers, two halves of one soul etc, so picking either one will probably guarantee the other being around and present.
After writing that out, I think my current rankings would go Hallbjorn > Eyvor > A twin > Asgeir > Sigurdr
Sigurdr might just be too protagonist coded for me.
It might be technically possible, but cultivating Odr on its own is already pretty dangerous, and I'd guess that Fervor isn't incredible safe either. Stacking both together not only means that you have the danger from both, but also potentially even more danger from risky interactions between the two. It's possible that trying to follow that sort of dual-path, without having some explicit guide for how to manage it, might just not be feasible long-term.Had more kid thoughts I wanted to continue from here: more specifically I had grandkids thoughts.
If Sigurdr or Hallbjorn (or even Asgeirr) starts following in their great grandfathers footsteps and sewing wild oats all over the world, what happens if someone culturally English or Byzantine is born, assuming said father does not go back for them for whatever reason?
We had it confirmed that we could cultivate Zeal or Finnish stuff with Orthstirr, but could we cultivate Odr with Fervor? I assume we could, since that seems equivalent to Orthstirr with Zeal. Not sure if this line of questioning has been followed in the past.

We can cultivate Fervor but not Zeal.
A Christian Viking would have Zeal, Fervor and Orthstirr.
The Fervor (The Culture's external resource) is necessary to gain Zeal (The Internal resource)
So I would be shocked if we could use Fervor for Odr when we can't do it the other way round
Oh interesting, I thought the limitation was "one external energy, one internal energy". With the ones that match working best but not being mixable.
To my understanding, it is one internal energy and any number of external energies through I could be wrong about that limit. We do know it is possible to have at least two external energies from Halla being able to get Fevror and Sten actually having two external energies.Oh interesting, I thought the limitation was "one external energy, one internal energy". Christian Viking still seems interesting as an idea, but I guess all our Odr research would be made pointless.

Gunne Warstalker feels like a traitor in the waiting to me, but maybe that's just paranoia.

Edit: Clearly Asgeirr should steal the magic bread and gain Fervor, to go with being the religious one of the family.
I think the big flaw with multiple systems is that you need to juggle each system's Nid equivalent.I'm honestly not sure Fervor is a good idea if you're not Christian. It's certainly possible, from what we know, but possible and being a good call are different.

Brutal pragmatism doesn't mix well with a modern moral code and neither mix well with Norse Honor
Yeah basically, although I think Christian cultivation is somewhat less strict than that (Knights didn't have much of a problem with sacking towns for example, and the Norse kept raiding after they were fully converted)"You're telling me it's a sin to plunder" "Coveting another man's earnings, yes" "and a sin to raid" "Wrath is one of the greatest sins indeed, and murder is a terrible stain on the soul" "To drink in excess and party" "And eat, gluttony is a terrible sin to invite into your soul" "And to lay with women I'm not married to already?" "Lust should always be contained and prevented, and we must always be watchful my son."
"Gods damn." - A Norse Christian, trying to not earn Christian Nid.
