Mathilde's contribution to it can be done as a Serenity action. You'd be asking Egrimm to write the paper in his free time instead of on the clock, which is normal for the Colleges but does mean that Mathilde will get the relevant malus for having a coauthor.

If she's getting a malus, does that mean that Egrimm will get more credit than if it were on the clock?
 
Awesome. OK then, I think I now support delaying the AV book by one turn: assuming we finish AV on T43 (either by doing liminal realms T42 and orbs T43 or by doing both on T43), we can do Windfall this coming turn, AV part 1 on T43, and AV part 2 on T44. That way we don't start the book until after we've done all the research, which means there's no risk we need to go back and rewrite it, which some people were worried about. The "downside" is that we lose a bit of potential CF gain (which, like, whatever at this point), but as Andres's followup question established, that means Egrimm gets more credit which is what we wanted anyway, so it's all upside as far as I'm concerned.

Cue the fights over whether we want a third WEB-MAT action to be Windherder or some other artifact investigation, but honestly that's a good thing to fight about.

The former says nothing about any motivation beyond looking for her next job/goal, and the latter is not only explicitly vague and not pinning down Mathilde's motivations, but the options also don't indicate that Mathilde has any problem with the Altdorf ecosystem at all. As well it shouldn't; it's never given Mathilde any trouble.

I see where you're coming from; I'd always interpreted that part of Mathilde's story as her being uncomfortable in the Empire, which is why I wrote what I did, but I can see how it can be parsed differently. I don't think it's a big deal, though; worst-case scenario, Mathilde exaggerates her discomfort levels a bit in order to be #relatable with the new kid.

I am surprised there are so few distinct votes, though, as well as so few votes in general; it's been open two and a half hours and we only have 21 voters. With how popular Sofia was as a social option, I kind of assumed this would be a very contentious vote. Maybe Americans are just busy on Saturday night? I'd be unsurprised to learn that the readers of Divided Loyalties are extremely cool people with rockin' social lives.

Uncommon, but not nearly as so as Barbitus' visceral. The problem with Intuitive is that there's not really anything you can communicate and compare, you can't say 'Dhar looks like slime' or 'Dhar smells like rot', it just feels like Dhar.

Might be people are hesitant on how to vote on a fairly delicate social matter.

It's not as clear-cut as 'I want to see Mathilde interact with this person', it's 'oh god oh god, how do I navigate this conversation?'
 
Hold on a moment, Maximilian's last name is de Gaynesford. He's Bretonnian. Did his parents smuggle him out so they wouldn't have to give him up?

I really don't think this is overly detailed, and I don't get the "arranged in a specific sequence" criticism. Like, these are just items, they can be trivially rearranged if the conversation demands. Mathilde is introducing herself in enough detail to figure out she's here because of Pan, telling a bunch of things about K8P (I'm not very sure about the favorite places part, feels too personal yet, but not that bad), and saying that her door is open (not that Sofia is likely to go to us, but imo saying that is a prerequisite for her ever considering it).
