Raiding Lotharingia would consist of, more or less, just the Low Countries. So modern-day Belgium and the Netherlands. Apologies to anyone in thread who lives in the places open to raiding, but I recommend stashing your valuables and moving out before Halla and Co get there :p

For where we go raiding, people seem into Lotharingia. I'm cool with that. Wessex is also acceptable and I'd happily switch if people preferred.

For Personal Actions, I think we need to emphasize our connection with our husband and not the warband leader since I think he was flirting (we can take an action to talk with him next time), but we definitely want to get to know our new compatriots. These two seemed most interesting to me, though I could be persuaded otherwise.

For training...look, if we're gonna get this before we get pregnant we need literally every die. And I mean every die...on average this whole raid (24 dice) isn't gonna be enough and we're gonna need to start adding dice from our next actual turn as well, probably a lot of them (though if we overflow Reinforce with those we do get Hamingja, which would be nice).

Basically, in terms of coast it is the modern day Netherlands + the bits of the German coastline - although not quite as far as Bremen.

Doesn't even include the coastline of modern Belgium, which was part of West Francia.

I didn't really get that. From what I understand that'd be a pretty big taboo in Norse society since we're married. Not to mention that he doesn't seem to be focused on romance (although perhaps he just hasn't found the right person) as he's not betrothed or married to anyone.

He was...overly familiar and talking about how we clearly don't get complimented enough. It wasn't overt enough to challenge someone over, but it definitely read as flirting to me.

And divorce is a thing in this society. Cheating would be completely unacceptable, but us leaving Abjorn for him would not be beyond the pale. We wouldn't do it, but it's worth keeping in mind that someone might. And he's ambitious, him trying to hitch himself to a fellow rising star is very much within the scope of that.

Just realized there is no need to change my code since the baby making code revealed that with a 6 and 9 roll you have like 2% chance of getting 20 successes across both, I doubt a 8 and 8 roll is much better, all for reinforce shield, we have over a 50% chance to get pregnant

I read it as more admiration from one warrior to another, rather than flirting. Although I can see where you're coming from.

I don't think this would excuse him from openly flirting with another man's wife. At least, from what little I understand of Norse culture that I've learned here.

I should probably also clarify that I don't really care whether we socialise with Folkmarr or not. Just that I don't think he's as interested in us as some people think he is.

Oh, totally. Which is why it was subtle and deniable flirting rather than the overt sort that would bring dishonor and duels. But I still feel like that's what was going on there.

And, like, if I'm wrong I'm wrong, but making sure to emphasize the Abjorn connection and not focusing on our new leader this turn isn't exactly us condemning him or anything...just making the situation more clear if I am correct.

I also believe that we should be counted as one of Folkmarr's felagi, rather than someone who hasn't proved themselves at the Raid Trials.
 
Reasons to not go to Wessex
1a. Dad's raiding group went there 3 years ago and the most important thing he got was thralls
1b. thralls cost money to feed but do provide labor
1c. We might run into a previously raided community that has not recovered (less loot)
1d. the cool magic armor dad did get he cant use the magic of since its uses Latin writing
2. they are far away might take an extra turn
reasons to go
1. we speak English fluently so easier to understand written and spoken language here
2a. Gabriel has a betrothed we might run into and kidnap
2b. Gabriel might figuring out how Wessex loots works easier
2c. Gabriel might appreciate some items from back home. Important since some of us have expressed interest in buying him, the poor boy (as we learned in his interlude he wants to stop looking at our sexy face and high power level)

I feel like our fluency in English will make raiding easier/more profitable

There is, yes. The further you go the more likely you are to encounter them. Travel-time is always 1 turn (for the most part, if you're going on an expedition to an unknown land, it's gonna be way longer)

Can we spend, like, just 1 die on Ember-Winged Cloak? Just one? That should get it to Refined since we only need 1 success after the auto. And we might be able to take advantage of that to do some Dungeon Bypassing later.

Also, fucking hell Halla, you're nearly up to 100 Orthstirr.

That feels like a milestone even in setting.
