Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

[X]MASH: You were given a call from Brooks about a young man being needed for a TV show. And you of course listened to him, how one producer Larry Gelbert actually saw your Vegas performances last month and thought you were a riot act and wanted to call you in, but no one knew who you were, and he was flashing around a picture of you everywhere in Hollywood. It wasn't until Brooks saw the photo that the two men finally talked to you. Gelbert wanted you on the show he was developing, as a character from the Novel. Corporal Walter Eugene O'Reilly, or known as Radar O'Reilly in the script. (You have been offered the Role of Radar O'Reilly on MASH)

[X]Colombo: You have been given a job as a heavy of Colombo, a murderer that has an ingenious scheme, of hiding his involvement. Not only hiding out in a public place with dozens of witnesses around, but also destroying the murder weapon by burning it. Its a job that requires sophistication, class and charm, something you have abundence of. (Be a TV Heavy for Peter Falk's Colombo)

This is a tough decision. One the one hand M*A*S*H is one of the most iconic series of all time. It's finale is still the most watched broadcast of a TV episode in history. It beat out the Super Bowl that year, and for decades afterwards.

On the other hand, such an iconic role could pigeonhole us early in our career if things turn out like they did historically. That's a fairly big if, as the show actually struggled pretty heavily in the ratings early on. It only got really popular when folks watched the reruns.

What can I say, I like Columbo.

Becoming one of the secondary characters of one of the most popular TV shows of all times? Yes please!

Getting typecasted/pigeonholed this early in our career can cause a big backfire on us though.

Also for real estate, something we could do is found a real estate investment fund, and organize purchases ourselves, bringing other investors on board to make purchases. Perhaps networking with actors and athletes.

Thing is we already have a strong and popular movie in our background here. So that argument isn't really relevant. If anything this just shows that we can play multiple roles.

But we already became a bit character in one of the most important martial arts movies of the 70's! We can try to be an action star.
...
Which one is supposed to be the action star because of the three MASH is the closest to lead roll. Seriously why are you bringing that up as an argument when there is no option for even being an action star?

Except that our role was entirely because of our friendship with Bruce. And Hollywood hasn't really noticed us yet.

And there won't be many martial arts movies made in the west... that are good for the next couple of years. IF we wanted to cash in on our skills, we should have either stayed in Asia.

Or try to create our own movie franchise.

Just because you did some roles before, doesn't mean you're immune to being typecasted. And that role has basically no impact on our Hollywood perception. It might help but a really iconic performance can backfire, especially on a really popular television show like MASH that is long standing compared to a movie.

Going for MASH just because it's popular is chasing popularity and can backfire. If so, then we'd deserve it.

Utterly irrelevant. We smashed that roll and really made ourselves out to be the protagonist until it was revealed that we where not. That sort of performance isn't ignored by the audience.

... and? Your point? The best role available to us right now is MASH. And frankly it is a one of the best all times TV shows. Much less just considering the current time. It is going to rock up and take names which will give us incredible clout. So yes MASH is the best option available.

Issue is that Movie absolutely shows our acting chops in a different direction then the MASH action will. Then you have to consider that we will be still looking for other rolls on the side. We are not just going to be doing MASH for years. We are going to be doing other movies and other TV shows. Especially while MASH is popular. Other movies and TV shows are going to be trying to cash in on that by offering parts to the actors of MASH. Draw in some of that name brand appeal.

Listen Peter Falk is fucking fantastic and Colombo is The Only Good Cop (Though I'm convinced he's secretly some sort of Trickster God playing cop on his off time :V)
