[X] Truth

We've gone so far down this path already and are tailor made to explore it. Turning about now just seems like a waste, and this could net us major points with Cython and open up entire new lines of research.

You know, if we share some of the results of this with Cython... do we get Ice Dragon research bro? It would be really open up results to prove or disprove how true his(there's?) theories are or how widespread the doubling down is.
…Dumb thought, but we could totally send the dragon to find divine imprints for us. They probably know a lot more places to look, anyways, and it's only fair that they do some of the work.

I expect this will have Mathilde get a fingerprint from the Moon Idol within ten turns, then sit for a long while until another artefact falls into her lap.

The thread is not going to vote for breaking into shrines to steal an idol and pour daemonblood over it. It just isn't. So keeping the fingerprint option open for when the opportunity arises isn't really that big a risk, I think.

I mean sure you could, if you wanted him to terrorize the priests into obedience or martyrdom. Cython is not generally speaking one to give a damn as to the bodily or spiritual autonomy of mortals, he makes an exception for Mathilde.

It is also pretty much guaranteed to have Mathilde found out. A dragon stole something from my temple seems like the kind of thing that would draw a good portion of a god's attention and then they'd see them handing it over to Mathilde and her taking the imprint.

[X] Truth

Entirely divorced from the in-universe side of things, I think this option would be the most interesting thing to read about, and presents another very compelling instance of Title-drop.
