The main issue I have with the priestess idea is that we... have very little information on what it would entail. Would it even solve the issue of needing some kind of training in magic? We don't know, which makes it kind of hard to recommend as a solution.
Mat is in an odd position here. She's one of the best Windsight people in the Old World, and has seen a lot of Divine Power being thrown around. More than that, she's felt the personal touch of three different gods (Mork, Ranald, and Gazul)

So Mat can say with certainty that Divine Magic is still Magic, if not Wind Magic. What kind of training the Divine Magic requires to use however, she is unlikely to know/learn as those are likely to be as secret as the training and Spells of the Colleges.

Essentially, there is attrition as some apprentices are always lost to training, either to miscasts, or losing their will to advance and becoming perpetuals. Mat doesn't know what kind of attrition the Divine version applies. She does know that properly and fully trained Priests, at least some of them, some of the time, can wield Divine Magic. Which seems like a fair trade for never courting miscasts, since priests aren't hated for random magic phenomenons. They get "Wrath of the Gods" instead. Which at least is usually not a risk for anyone not the Priest.

Another thing I don't like about the priestess idea is that we have no idea how the leadership of the Shallyan will react to having the heiress of a wealthy trade organisation dropped on their lap. Whilst I have no doubt most of the membership of the Cult are good and principled people, they are still people, and I'm not sure I trust them with Eike. I think they will mold and shape her to fit their agendas, and I don't know what that is. At least with the Greys we have first hand experience and knowledge of what will happen to her, as well as the ability to intervene and influence should things go awry, but with the Cult of Mercy we will be blind to the growth and development of someone who is supposed to become our business partner.

Both Eike and the EIC are too important to be left in the hand of strangers, even if those strangers are Priests of Mercy.

Also, if some of the RPG books are to be believed: Shallyan priests and priestess's are not really good with lots of money, like, religiously beggar themselves building food kitchens, kids homes, hospitalises etc etc.

Speaking of dodgy Shayllans, that is where a lot of the Lahmians are, like a lot of them. In some versions of the lore they created Shaylla as cover for their spying, but even if that is not true it is indubitable the cult is filled with them. Eike would be a prime target for subversion.

...Oh my god, they're too pure for this world for their own good ;_;
No worries, a lot of them end up as alcoholics to cope with the stress of spending their entire lives in search of the next person to help, because the amount of self-care/personal life that is acceptable for a Shallyan to have is a legitimate theological debate within the Cult. Just to balance out the wholesome purity. /s

Eike would still be her own person and have joined the clergy more due to Mathilde's recommendation than due to devout belief. She could of course be massively radicalized once there, but otherwise I'd trust her to use her own cut for charity and not illegally bankrupt the EIC of which she doesn't even own half. If nothing else, those other two nobles will try and prevent it even if both Mathilde and Anton are asleep on the wheel.

Having thought about it some more, whether divine magic works as a "Wind of Shallya" or is a gift of the gods to the worthy (or useful) that merely synergizes with prior natural aptitude for magic, either way it presupposes a mindset closely aligned with the god in question. And if Eike doesn't go for that then she doesn't actually gain any of the hoped benefit from joining the priesthood and would be just as well served with dampeners or whatever. So yeah, I'm not going to vote for Clergy after all.

[x] Wizard
- [x] The Golden Order
- [x] The Order of Life
- [x] The Grey Order
[x] Clergy
Any of these seems like a fine option.

[X] Wizard
-[X] Let Eike decide
-[X] The Grey Order
- [ :p ] The Black Order

Mathilde knows that the Grey College is a great place for a teen to grow up! It worked really well for her, didn't it?

[X] Wizard
- [X] Let Eike decide
- [X] The Celestial College
- [X] The Golden Order
- [X] The Order of Life
- [X] The Grey Order

These four seem like the best options.

Really don't see why we would want Shallyan priestess.
