Since only the Albionese part of the army split and not the Imperial, we would've already been above half strength.
Good point! Still, in relative terms we're still likely to be facing an uphill climb, which is the really pertinent part. But I'm certainly not one to turn up my nose at pedantry for its own sake. :V

I want dragon and also might as well trust Alberfa judgement. If we decided her plan of action back at the castle was good she should be trustworthy in making a plan that doesn't kill us.

I wonder how much they actually know about the Empire and the Northern Trident. Some of the scenes have a very different context if the Albionese know that Freddy alone can put something like 80,000 men in the field, versus a vague "they're big and rich." In particular all the references to "this is our home" come across as very defensive in that context, like they're trying to warn off a much larger power.

I'd would have been nice to have some Grey Wizards to scout ahead, though I imagine the process of hiring them is much harder if not impossible. The Emperor likely sending most of them out on missions for the Empire as a whole since they are must useful in intrigue rather than on the battlefield.

Though I do hope after this there is the chance to hire more wizards since sure Colleges would love to have more connections to Albion in general, and Ostland will have the best diplomatic connection to them if the heirs survive this and get home.

I just read about an American operation (although this technique has been used by almost every government since WWII with all the weapons and object in which an explosive could have been placed)during the Vietnamese war where they had replaced the Vietnamese ammunition by ammunition with a too powerful powder which exploded their rifles.
the main goal was to affect them psychologically by making them lose confidence in their supplier (china), in addition to injuring a number of them which made them more reluctant to shoot and therefore easier to kill.
Do you think we can do the same with the enemy powder stocks?

Is there no bandit in the empire?
I'm not talking about the interlude.
We already dealt with the bandits that used our weapons. Some of our engineers betrayed us and we followed up on it, which ended in our wood elve mercenaries hunting down bandits in most forests of the Empire and Anna getting first hand Inquisition experience.
Everything else is small fry.

And unless I'm wrong we don't have any other enemies that use powder.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

The current conversation made me think of having grey wizards sneak into enemy encampments and placing explosives, the only real trouble would be hiring wizards skilled enough to do so and inventing an explosive good enough to make the effort worth it.

I mean. How could they really, truly understand the scope of the Empire and its armies, its issues, its problems? Greenskins haven't been a problem in 98-99 years. All they know is that these people come on their strange ships, flashing their strange metal, and their strange ways. And magics. And the Mists that are meant to keep out 99% of everyone haven't been working as well lately, what with the Black Arks powering through and then these people showing up.

It's important to remember that, culturally, they quite literally just don't have a good comparison or frame of reference for this in the current age. How could they?

And defensive of Albion is baked into their very culture and history since time immemorial, you know?

-[X] Allow Alric: The ability of a dragon to cause destruction is literally legendary. It may be dangerous, and difficult, and risky, but the benefits in battle could be quite extreme. Entire hallways might be drowned in fire, or he might be able to assault the castle in other ways as well.
-[X] Aberfa's Plan: Approach the castle, tear down the doors, use the Druids to block attempts at communication while the Imperial Wizards aid in the interior. It sounds simple, but so does lifting a thousand pounds onto one's back.

Well, time to pray to the RNG gods
