If we take this and end up somehow saving their lives, and their having any amount of actual doubt about the Chaos gods ... considering the Protector is active I'm probably gonna vote to start preaching the word of Ranald on the spot.
Steal the Steppes from Chaos.
Tempting. Would this be a Learning skill or an Intrigue skill? Wait, no... If it's "Sabotage" it'd be Intrigue. If it's "Demolitions" it'd be Learning. Hrm.It'd also just be a nifty idea in general for when we are working with Dawi.
Imagine starting off, say, the invasion of Karak Drazh, by sneaking explosives into a ton of key positions beforehand.
Really... not that likely. Even the southern steppes are far enough north that living there while not having a relationship with the chaos gods is not really an option. If I recall correctly Boney has strongly implied that the Gospodar probably were at the very least propitiating the chaos gods alongside other gods while they were living in the Steppes, and that the way they stopped dealing with chaos was in part by Not Living In The Steppes Anymore. *IF* the Yusak are inclined to ditch chaos (and there's a not insignificant chance they're instead looking for some way to double down to regain the chaos gods' favor), more likely than not they need to find somewhere else to live, not steal the steppes from chaos. If we take this and end up somehow saving their lives, and their having any amount of actual doubt about the Chaos gods ... considering the Protector is active I'm probably gonna vote to start preaching the word of Ranald on the spot.

Don't overestimate us. Our big diplomatic waves have come from being a trusted advisor and confidant of powerful people. We don't have that with the Yusak. We don't even have the "they believe every not-lie you say" side of the coin active.Brilliant, even if we end up helping another tribe instead, so long as we don't cause the conflict it's bound to mess up with their heads.
Steal the Steppes from Chaos. It's our holy duty.
I just want to add my voice to the signal-boost Wold-Slayer's reasoning: A second Rite of Way action slot is well worth it imo, and I advocate for it.These will increase the speed of the convoy, that means less food required, less danger of threats catching up and presumably less maintenance required
My guess is that it's from the main page sidebar with the recently gilded posts. Four of them are from this thread, which is a pretty good advertisement.Did the thread get linked somewhere with a lot of viewers? Noticing a surge of new people
When we first met the Dolgan, rolls were made on whether who we met served the Four or the Eight. I'm not keen on repeating that roll more than necessary.
Johann, Magister of the Gold Order
Diplomacy: 20 - Johann is naturally likeable and gets along with most people.
Martial: 18 - There might be a point in the future where you'll regret not stopping this here and now.
Intrigue: 19 - When most of your body is gold, you learn not to draw attention.
Does he speak the language, though? Because without that, I don't know how much of a help he would be in diplomacy.I feel that if we go meet the Dolgan and the Yusak, it might be good to bring Johann with us. He's as fast as us and his stats make him an asset in both potential talks or fights. If we mess things up, it be good to have competent back up.
I figured it's just the 'This is a familiar face' factor.I'm genuinely not sure how Mathilde going to meet the Dolgan is going to help make them more likely to stick to their deal, I would expect that if they were going to break the deal their choice would have been made earlier, but I don't think that her going to check on them is going to make food less likely, and the food is so vital that I think that any possibility of ensuring it should be considered.
The road situation is still worse than Mathilde not being there while the expedition is within any held portions of Karag Dum, within the territory of anyone we've bargained for safety from, or directly between the territories of two groups that we've bargained for safety from.
Mathilde was the one who made the deal. If she's not there, then everything becomes more suspicious from their point of view. Her being there makes the deal not falling apart more likely.I'm genuinely not sure how Mathilde going to meet the Dolgan is going to help make them more likely to stick to their deal, I would expect that if they were going to break the deal their choice would have been made earlier, but I don't think that her going to check on them is going to make food less likely, and the food is so vital that I think that any possibility of ensuring it should be considered.
The height difference is something like a mile. The trigonometry escapes me at this time ofWhat we might do is blow it up into a ramp, but also blow up some of the plateau leading to the switchbacks and create a canyon so that said ramp can be at a gentler incline.
Lazy git. Did Borek not feel like paying for aerial recon?
