I have to admit, I'm approaching this from a bit of a meta perspective. Am I more interested in seeing a scene where Freddie tells Stephen about the Black Ark, or am I more interested in going on to next turn?

@torroar could we write a vote that goes like:

[] Frederick tells the Tident about the Black Ark and [whatever else the thread thinks is relevant] but don't feel like you have to write the scene unless you think the reactions are interesting.
 
Aye letting them know about a dark elven raiding base is spitting distance is a must, pretty sure talking about the Starbrook package (and the families in Marienburg that support it) is necessary too, as that's not going to go away any time soon.

It's more about offering it to Ortrud and Stephan.. as in all the years we have known them they haven't said something like "please research this tech for me?". Would they have ideas if Freddy offered, or would they request something in R&D they are aware of?

Hiring mercs only brings in the mercs at the end of the year. Hiring mercs for the skaven would be useless, as they wouldn't arrive in time to participate.

I don't know. I would think they have their own learned people and ability to research things. Can we get some confirmation @torroar?

It's probably why they haven't asked. If a clever idea came to their attention they'd want to try to make it happen themselves, and only come to us if they couldn't.

Granted, they don't have engineering schools. So, maybe instead of tech ideas from Nordland or Ostermark for us to make happen, maybe we could offer to open the doors of the School of Gunnery and Engineering to those from Nordland and Ostermark that might be interested. Let them come to Ostland to join as students and after a time can take what they learned back home.

That's a hell of an offer out of the blue, though. And without consulting our engineers.

I'd say let them know about the Fimir too if only so it doesn't catch them flat footed, as we don't want them getting fat of any conflict with the black arc. As for R&D maybe flat that Stephen might want some more cannons (or Great ships) for the arc but shared R&D is going to be an oof given we're the only Trident member with R&D.

Is there anything indicating that our Gunnery and Engineering School is for Ostlanders only? As far as I know the school is available for anyone who's got the aptitude for the school's brutal curriculum.

I think Torroar already confirmed that Trident based nobility already attend the school, so there's that.

Anyhow, interesting update. Dadbod Frederick was not something that I was expecting. I'd be lying If I said I was eager for yet another military campaign so soon after Laurelorn. If it's more akin to our involvement in Sylvania than Karak Ungor I might be up for it.
 
Maybe we should also tell Stephan that we found 2 Asrai Waystalkers that was rescued from Skaven captivity. Maybe get a few waywatchers to join in Ortrud's Skaven campaign, maybe start repairing Dawi and Asrai relations too with a joint operation (as in agree to ignore each other and kill more Skaven)?

A good thing that Dadbod Frederick will be completely gone by next year and that he didn't get a malus from it.

Evangeline agreed to approach them sometime ago about their history. If they are willing to reach out to their Asrai kin they'll let her know and the message can be relayed from there. But that seems like personal business and their decision.

Dawi and Asrai working together is asking for a bit much. Just a bit. ;)

Tho yeah, getting them to work together would take a long time and drastic measures but the most I can expect is for them to assume that the other are just hallucinations.

You might be on to something there. We just need to get everyone really, really drunk. And then they'll think the other party is an odd hallucination. Brilliant!
 
Well now, lots to take in update.

Good to see Freddy and Nat getting back in shape while Magnus and Sabine run things, including getting us some extra dough!

Interesting development with Nighthawk's children, could be a political coup getting them home or at least informing the wood elves they are alive if not well. They can likely wait for life-debt to be over.

Nice to see Stephan has elves on his side of things well in hand so far, and will be great to bring up in Meet later.

Also skaven attempting to build up a city, if not quite as bad as a stronghold, is bad and needs to burned with tons of fire so lets help where we can.

We already told them about beating up demigod yeah? If so @spudman has right idea mentioning stuff in Albion since Stephan does control First Imperial Fleet and we want them to know about Black Ark.
