Could the Aethyric Vitae be used to help Panoramia with the soil problem? Maybe if we soaked the ground with the Green magic it would produce better results.

If we desperately want something done for the soil, we can see about finding some niter crystals that aren't Dwarven gunpowder quality. Of course, I'm assuming that right now the bulk of the, um, biological refuse of the Eight Peaks groups is already being incorporated into the land, so we'd still need to import it...

Because it is, anything else we could add to it would not really add to its main function, of frying enemies with dwarf Hellfire, it would just do ancillary things like anti-air protection.

[X] FIEF: Leave the current and future money be.

Even after five years of accruing that is less than Mathilde's half-year book budget. Let the goatherds have nice things

The least we can do for a wizard who not only split the favor equitably, but even preserved the MAP word-play. Not interested in dragonbone at this time. We do not have the time to use it if we get it, nor do we desperately need that +1 magic

Looks good, all things we need and are likely to use in the mid-to-long range

[X][COLLEGE] Item of Boon of Hysh - 5 College Favor

Two favor does not seem like it's worth quibbling over at the rate we are generating it. Even a marginal improvement to the item is worth it IMO

[X] [DWARF] No purchase.

For the sake of thoroughness. I have not seen anyone argue for dwarf purchases

We could provoke some nearby threats and testfire the tower. Burnt zOrk might make decent fertiliser.

Hmm. We probably couldn't do much ourself, but in the distant future it might be worthwhile to hire some Amber Wizards and see if we can't make domesticated bats to farm for guano. Try and make niter mass producible.

Otherwise, maybe get Jade involvement in setting up a nitrary given the use of organic matter and how earth is nominally under the domain of Ghyran.

This dragon shouldn't be underestimated. We all have seen Asarnil's Deathfang and he was very cool. This guy is not on Deathfang level. He is above Deathfang roughly as much as equipped Mathilde is above an ordinary Empire Greatsword. If this dragon (unbuffed) fights against Deathfang (without Asarnil), he will tear him to shreds in 2 rounds, suffering 1-2 wounds in return. If we add Asarnil and his cool trinket it becomes 4 rounds and 5 return wounds (out of 9 total).
Going by tabletop mechanics you are correct. Its one tier above star dragon, but i suspect only due to game balance reasons.
Lore wise i think you are underestimating Deathfang, a star dragon should be one of the oldest dragons, the kind that were alive the time before the first generation slann helped the old ones move the planet away from the sun. Which lands him squarely in the emperor dragon category.
Though on second thoughts i might have confused canon with @Imrix 's Paradox of Choice... Which is better than Canon anyway...

Your phrasing makes me think that you're under the impression that Boon of Hysh is a linear improvement on Ill-Bane. It's not. Boon of Hysh takes twice as long to cast, restricting it to out of combat use, and trades the ability to target a small group for curing injuries and a more comprehensive counter to poisons and diseases. For some purposes- for example, if your group of several people have all been poisoned by the same poison gas and are going to be dead in the next thirty seconds or so from its deadly effects- Ill-Bane is significantly superior.

Of course, if one guy has a gut wound from a poison dagger and everyone else is fine, Boon of Hysh is the spell of choice (though it would be entirely redundant with Regrowth, which we already have, in that scenario). They simply do different but related things.

Changing vote, since word of qm makes boon of hysh item redundant, which to me brings multi target anti poison to the front

Wait really? I was under the impression that Deathfang was one of the strongest dragons there is.
EDIT: there's are annoying

For me using healing on anyone other than Mathilde or important characters, as in people with a significant on screen presence, has always been far less important. Belegar, Panoramia, hell even Dreng dying is significant, saving X amount fewer nameless faceless soldiers is not. With that in mind the only situation where I would see Ill-Bane as superior is if there were several important characters near Mathilde and all of them were dying of poison too fast to apply the seed. That seems very niche as opposed to the much more likely to be used: 'the gass grenade has six poisons in it and we can't even identify three of them'

Wait really? I was under the impression that Deathfang was one of the strongest dragons their is.

You were not mistaken Deathfang is in fact an Emperor dragon, among the eldest of dragons.

That said, I am legitimately surprised that N thousand extremely eligible bachelors have had such difficulty finding brides. I am honestly wondering if there isn't something weird going on.

I said it earlier but K8P is one of the most isolated outposts in the Old World, deep in hostile territory with the nearest friendly town weeks away and even that town is located in the Border Princes, not exactly the safest neighbourhood either. The place is also less settlement and more permanent garrison, at least for the foreseeable future, with conflict and even large scale warfare being basically constant and enemies being not days or weeks travel away but located right there with you. And sure dwarves might be used to this eternal siege mentality/situation but the average human is used to considerable safer locations and honestly it is not where I would plan to raise a family or have kids if I had a choice...

I really wanna do the Naggaroth "vacation" sooner rather than later, but damn if Qrech doesn't throw a wrench in that desire haha. Protagonist paranoia makes it so I don't trust any of our subordinates not to get ratdoctrinated by a lucky Qrech Crit while we're gone*, and just leaving people to do household upkeep on him for 3 months + travel time both ways likely leads to him going crazy, pupper companion or not.

Just gotta wait until he ages out and kicks the bucket, I guess. Also probably shouldn't leave while there's a dragon about, I Guess! Also we should probably make our staff first, I GUESS!!! 🧙‍♂️ 💔

*Johann so frustrated with Ratling Gun progress just immediately folds at the first sign of a breakthrough, I can see it now!

Considering the haxness of elves, i kind of want to leave it for later to be honest. Like, not because of "how much stuff there is to do at K8P before it is safe", although that is also a concern, but because i suspect that whatever trait and skill advancement there could be from this would end up improving upon harder to gain stuff, like magic. I don ´t know if i actually conveyed the point i wanted to make damnit. Basically, we can still improve of our own power with local resources, lets try to filch stuff from elves when it actually gets harder to improve i guess.

I've brought it up before, but I really want Mathilde to be at her best before we head out on our Elfcation.

• Upgrade our armor.
• Get a sweet staff.
• Get all our sneaky-sneak skills up to Advanced.
• Complete the spellbook.
• If possible, pick up the next upgrade to the Windsage trait.
• Brush up on our Diplomacy and Elf Lore.

We have a standing invitation until the end of the world - on elf timescales, they won't begrudge us taking five years or so getting ready.

And once we're there, it's showtime - we flip the Coin to Protector, and try to grab favor like it's going out of style.

Re the solution to not having enough womenfolk who are up to the journey to K8P....

Well there has been discussion about using architecture combined with smoke and mirrors to create teleportation gates, in case we needed to add more research avenues to AP hell. Iirc, that was tabled because we didn't know Smoke and Mirrors yet, but now we do... so maybe create a teleport gate?

I don't remember the way that discussion ended though...

Deathfang in Dogs of War is called "Great Green Dragon". According to Storm of Magic Great Dragons are one step down from Emperor Dragons. His stats in DoW 5e are close enough to Great Dragon's stats in SoC that I'm going to say that difference is due to the 3 editions wide gap.

One of the big issues I have with the idea of teleport gates is the fact that you have to encode an IFF or make sure that both ends of the gates wouldn't fall to an enemy force. The dwarfs will never trust something that could possiblely allow enemy forces into their backlines.

Then there is also the gyrocoptor issue. Unless we plan on moving armies through these gates then gryocoptors will almost always be a better choice because they already exist and so don't need excessive R&D. Gyrocoptors are quick and relatively efficient so they solve a lot of the problems that teleport gates would solve.

This of course changes once you reach a certain scale but given the obvious benefits to teleport gates to transport armies there are likely some pretty significant barriers or the grey order would have done it already.

Guys I have an idea that could lead to us learning spoken Queekish. Tell some sort of lie and have Qrech teach Wolf Queekish (after teaching Wolf Praestantia).
